you sure it won't fail? I have the zip file used for xrecovery, that's my only option to get rid of LG's crappy launcher.
it'd be great to have this info cause I have no idea how to restore this phone
edit:
nevermind the zip file containing arc launcher 2.3.4 is not getting installed, i says the operation was aborted due to the script being created in android 1.5.
no idea though

Try extracting the zip and install it like a normal apk

somehow any attempt gives me the old SE launcher and looks quite weird in the lower part, I guess is not design for 4.3 inch screens

Not enough info, but looks like you will have to flash.
Bad choice but have to deal with it.
Anybody got shipped keyboard. The latest one is not good.

If you had installed Xrecovery and backed up your ROM then you can easily restore it, and you don't have to flash when you get error or something like that.

Gingerbread stock launcher

Hi, I've got a small request. Could sb post stock gingerbread launcher for CM7? I've been searching for it but I couldn't find working one.
I tried launcher2 from old rom for HTC Magic and this zip but it just doesn't work.
Maybe I'm just doing it wrong? Tried normal install, but it didn't work so I pushed via adb launcher2.apk to system/app/ but couldn't see it installed. Flashing zip I posted before via recovery gave me some error.
You try the one on the Market?

Yeah, unfortunately it's for HDPI devices and app drawer isn't usable ;(
Try Gingerbread Launcher from MoDaCo.
You can find it on the Android Market.

It looks like stock GB Launcher but I can feel difference in speed (even compared to my old phone with msm7200a cpu).
I just found working one . If sb want it, it can be found here in 1st post (just flash in recovery, it also removes ADW).
Here is direct link if sb can't find it : http://www.multiupload.com/M6MWTQE369

I think its easier to install wolfs rom
Sent from my X10i
no difference IMO
Well i just asked because with adb mask controller says that i dont have busybox intsalled in the pre-rooted version,but...anyways,i will find the way to solve it.
just dont find where to close the thread, like on another forums, well, some mod, please close.

Best ROM

Hey so I'm coming from the i9000 section I'm very confident with flashing ROMS and mods and stuff like that but obviously every phone is different, what would be the best most stable ROM ? What I'm looking for
*stock styling (stock launcher like in 2.1)
*good battery life
*stability
*lots of features
*the slide to remove notification feature (this is probably my biggest ask, if there is a mod that can do this on stock firmware it would be great)
*clear instructions to check if bootloader is locked and if it is how to unlock it
*clear rooting and flashing guide thanks
By the way looking for this for mini pro

I would start with MiniCM7Pro by Paul-xxx from this link.
It looks close to stock Android Gingerbread and it doesn't require you to mess with your bootloader or a custom kernel.
Steps are:
Get Flashtool
Root the phone
Install CWM
Press the backbutton on kernel-logo to get into CWM.
In CWM do the usual wipes (factory-reset/data, cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats)
Then install the ROM from your sd-card and reboot
Thanks a lot! since it is on 2.1 can I just use a once click app method? To do this then use ROM manager to install cwm?

Don't have experience with ROM manager, if it works on stock 2.1 then it will probably install CWM fine, I've got a CWM install zip for xRecovery (I install xRecovery with flashtool ,then install zip from sd-card and choose the CWM-install zip)
It is in a thread here somewhere, can't remember where though.
After that just flash the ROM with it.
Thanks a lot if it isn't to much to ask what exactly would I need to unlock the boot loader for?

search for S1Tool, it will give you the information you need to determine if it is safe to unlock your bootloader. (basically, if you have an SEMC simlock certificate you should be ok, if it states unknown simlock certificate, you're more than likely to brick your phone) (and look on the sticker under the back-cover of the phone, if it's on or after (year)11(week)29 (11w29) there is a chance of hard-bricking your phone too)
If it is safe, there is an unlock-option in Flashtool, under the plugins-menu that should do the trick.
Thanks what's the advantages of having it unlocked?

You can install custom kernels and have a wider choice of ROMS to choose from for your phone.
I think the best ROM for x10 mini/mini pro are miniCM9!:good:
It,s very stable and it still in development!

I disagree, minicm9 works better then minicm7 in terms of speed and stability. Not to mention the UI of ICS is better then GB. All I have issue is with video playback (qualcomm's fault).

Lol, it is NOT Qualcomm's fault, they would have helped if it was possible. If anyone is to blame, it is Google, for choosing a newer SOC with more possibilities as base for ICS.

for me the best ROM is MINICM9. The only things that need to be ironed out are the Loudspeaker distortion, the earpiece sound bug while in a call and the lagginess when opening an app or someone is calling. Otherwise its perfect! (for me at least)
Thanks I just checked her phone tonight it was under the year week thing with right baseband and update version for miniprocm7 but didn't have access to a of so couldn't check sim lock, so assuming that's okay do I just connect it check unlock bootloader and run? Or is there anything else I need to know?

Extracted from JJ's hybrid.
Copy into /system/app with file manager (I use ES), reboot.
It will appear in app drawer.
Or do you want some older one, from gingerbread?
That worked great, thanks guys:thumbup:

Remember if you push any apps/mods manually with root explorer to the system folders to set the right permissions.
You could end up with alot of errors otherwise.

Why we could get alot of errors when changing the file in the system when we're doing it right?
If theres an error then either we fix it or do a restoration. thats why always do BACKUP.
