Hey all. I am trying to download some songs for offline listening. Ive tried on wifi and on 3g and it doesnt work. It will just hang and after some time this pops up"cant download songs currently check internet connection and try again". My connection is fine and I have a strong signal. I can go online and buy apps from market so im not sure why this message pops up.

so i was at the Borders bookstore yesterday connecting through wifi. I download a program from the Market that I believe was called Wifi Status. I installed it and then removed it. Then all of a sudden my wifi doesn't work anymore.
Do I just need to install this program again to get it working? The weird thing is, it shows that I am connected to my router at home now, but when I try to use the web to connect to wifi...it says I have no network connect. Please help!
I just realized I can't just go to androidzoom.com to download any programs to my computer and install it on my phone through a USB cable. Some people help!
I'm not sure quite what is going on here, but did you reboot your phone to see if that fixes it?

Hi, I'm connecting to the internet over 3G router. While the connection is fine when I'm using the phone, it sometimes automatically disconnects when I don't use the phone for a while (20 mins and up)
Also, VPN always disconnects when I don't use the phone, even though I'm connected to the internet! I'm using the same paid VPN on my computer and it works just fine.
Any idea on how to have the Internet and VPN connected even if I put the phone away or lock it? the reason I'm asking is that I like to keep skype and viber on while I'm away, so I can pick up when I get calls from friends.

I have an MTK 5.1.1 phone and if I have a custom rom on it, wifi at home is great, no issues.
When I use the stock 5.1.1 rom the wifi is ridiculously slow, FBlite takes minutes to refresh, play store closes, browser often doesnt work etc.. using 3G is faster.
My tv is connected to the same network and I noticed last night when watching TV and trying to download something on my phone, that my TV had a pop up every couple of minutes 'network disconnected.... connecting....connected'......then again and again whilst my phone was trying to download a 30mb file.
Tested again this morning and my PS4 was losing connection again, whilst trying to download something on my phone,
So.... any idea how or why my android phone on stock rom seems to somehow disconnect my home network? This would explain why its so slow, it keeps disconnecting itself and everything else from the home network.
Any ideas?
My Google Assistant, my Google Voice search and Chrome will only respond if I'm on Wifi. I'm on mobile network, with full bars and it just doesn't work. It keeps saying something went wrong or no connectivity but I can still use Facebook and other apps with no problems, it just seems to Google is the problem. As soon as I turn on the Wi-Fi everything seems to work perfectly but as soon as I turn it off Google stops working. Any help would be appreciated.

So I can't seem to find a straight answer on this because most of the results that come up in searching have to do with geolocking due to using VPNs with foreign endpoints, and that is not the issue here. I have a VPN server at home, and I keep my phone connected to it at all times to funnel traffic through my pi-hole (phone is not rooted, so no other reliable adblocker can be installed). Play store refuses to download or update anything unless I disconnect the VPN. I originally thought it was the pi-hole itself breaking something, but if I connect to home wifi (runs through the same pi-hole) it works just fine (no it is not set to wifi only). If I just disconnect the VPN, it works fine over LTE. I have true unlimited, and rarely use wifi, so I never turn it on. I tried IFTTT to turn it on only at home but it never works right.. More often than not, it doesn't turn it off when I leave - which causes it to try to connect to random saved hotspots as I drive through town, or the one at work which has crappy coverage, which interrupts my streaming radio.
Is there some hidden setting or tweak I can do to make it work properly and do automatic updates? As I said, the VPN is connected at all times, and I don't remember to check for updates regularly, so it is not uncommon to find dozens of apps that haven't installed updates in a month or more. I DO get notifications of OTA FW updates from the carrier each month or so.
