Sorry, I mean, link which you attach in 1st post is link for stock ROM (original ROM from HTC ) its unbranded & in lock condition (not mean lock for one operator only, but lock for homebrew/sideload application)

Ah, ok.
But I only need to know if the version is PRE-Nodo (s.o. pre 7392) so it can be useful to apply Chevron unlock.

The version of pre-NoDo (as I know) is 7004 or 7008. You may use the ROM on the link that you posted. Otherwise, you must make sure that:
1. Your phone is created with the standard of European countries
2. Your current Firmware revision number is as same as the link's
3. Your current Radio Software Version number is same as the link's
If those 3 prerequisites have been accomplished, you may use it.

lol he was taking the piss - your unlock shouldn't be reversed by an update - but use a generic rom instead of the t-mobile specific one i would say.

Why not use the t-mobile one and use the generic?? i cant download the generic because my serial number doesnt match with it..is there another site that offers the generic one??

If I were you i'd use the update zips from Modaco's Stock ROMs + radios in update.zip format for GSM Hero along with Amon Ra's custom recovery tool.
Use BTDAG's guide as linked in my signature for step by step instructions. Or ask if you need more help.

I have a Vivo branded phone (Carrier from Brazil). It's unlocked, but I can't yet update to 2.1 because unlocking does not unbrand. =/ Vivo is only releasing the 2.1 on the last week of november.
There is a lot of information here in the forum, but I found it a little confuse - too much information.
So my question, is there a safe way to unbrand my 1.6 X10a without rooting it?

1- if you update your phone from 1.6 to 2.1, the code will stay the same (Brazil stays Brazil) unless you use the flash tool to upgrade with another firmware.
2- You can try to download the flash tool with the right firmware if it's available, else, just use the 12XX-XXXX code on your phone (under the battery on the sticker) and rebrand using the different methods available on XDA.

Does HTC Offcial 2.54 ROM for TD2 Available? I have see about 2.54 in HTC site for their SMS Update, so that mean that ROM exists?
Also somewhere I have seen this below ROM is available, but India site does not give this ROM So where to get 2.54?

Hi,
India HTC site does not give 2.53. You have only option for 2.17 from official site. May be if you go to Service Center they will install 2.53 for you .
But if you like you can get these official ROMs from http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows mobile&model=Topaz site and install 2.53 which is very stable and good one and has latest Radio ROM too.
Reg Backup::
Yes you can take backup for you contacts, calender, Task and SMSs before you upgrade.
For Contact: Create a Outlook profile and sync your mobile so that the new profile will have all your Contacts, Calender, Task etc.
For SMS: Use "My Phone" application on your mobile and Sync online to Microsoft My Phone for SMS. (of course you can use My Phone to sync every thing online).
But I prefer only SMS for myself

Phew! The service center refused to flash official ROM since I had my device HardSPL'ed. Had to do the mtty myself. Luckily it worked. Thanks to MysticGenius for coming up with the tutorial.

The HTC mobiles are locked to a region so that the official ROM released in that area will work for that device.
Now as you have use official ROM from another region or may be any Cooked ROM, so you need to have HSPL installed before you use any other ROM on your device.
You can get all info about HSPL here:

Note: By doing HSPL you will lose your warranty, if there.

The ROM supports 0409(WWE), 0407(German) and 040C(French).
It also has a new and better radio plus battery control and some more improvement.

This might seem as a silly question but "Can I install this rom on an unlocked at&t device?"
The reason I want to try this is that I am having the microphone mute issue and want to try different roms in hope that it is a software issue.
I don't have the possibility of returning the device.

I was watching and translations are in the mui files., it would need a back up of another multi language rom mui extract and appends to the preparation or cooked rom. This is done with the cooking shows, but can not find ...

i did roms when nothing was at all .. only forgotten ppl with bugged device .OLDFAG . still love WM2003 device..
but atm theres is no wy flash something custom for ANY WP7
if you does not familiar with i could explain
there is a part BEFORE OS DESIGNED BY MANUFACTURER . SPL . SPL hold CID LOCK with carrier ID . which scan rom header before each Full flash Update procedure . by default it will only aloy signed with HTC CERT and only with same CID as on device ..
without it ... you will not be able to flash ROM different CID or custom roms without HTC CERT
