do you mean the dock on the home screen?
I don't know how to actually remove it, but you could set the background to transparent and remove all icons.

goto prefrences, then select theme settings. select dock background , and select the option hide background.
OptimalK
you'll have that + + + + + label for adding another icons...
you COULD in theory create a blank PNG or jpeg or whatever.. save it in your gallery (or wherever.. )
Long press on one of the Plus signs.
Select "Replace"
Select "Custom Icon"
then select your blank png (blank.png attached to post
et voila
I have added a blank.zip to the post
just unzip the blank.zip and there will be a blank.png inside....copy to your phone..... find it in the gallery.. and i can confirm it works
example screeenshot of it in action
(i have left dock background in place just to prove it is working,, but easy to disable)
show/hide dockbar
if you dont need the whole dockbar on your homescreens you can also configure to show or hide it with a gesture.
go to "settings" -> "function-settings" -> "buttons and gestures" -> "action for wiping down" -> "show/hide dockbar"
(i hope this are the names of the menus in english because i have the german version)
now when you wipe your finger down on any homescreen the dockbar shows or hides itself.
thats the settings i prefer but do as you like!
regards
Hello, is there any way to remove dock and use its space for widgets?

No you can't.
1. Wrong section
2. Dumb question
3. Lazy user
when you tap the + icon, some options pop up where you can select "blank" and + icon will disappear

This is the best way. However the homescreen real estate is not expanded to reach the bottom of the screen, unlike most other launchers. For this reason I switching back to ADW, although Go's transition fx are amazing
Bit of a bump here, can i not replace the dock with say Arrow Dock? It's completely different so is it possible?
This is arrowdock:

Actually you can.
Set glide action to hide dock bar, return to home screen and 'glide to hide',reset glide action to whatever. Now when home, no dock bar. Voila!

wrong section yes but not a stupid question nor a lazy user. its an option in adw that i wish go launcher had. i would switch to adw for this option alone but i'm having other more serious issue with adw. the point of this is to use the space so my widget extends to the bottom of the screen. it just looks a lot cleaner instead of empty space at the bottom where the dock would be.

I think the earlier question was removing the dock bar and using the real estate to place widgets, which you really can't. Hiding the dock bar? Yes of course. Using the space for widgets? No can do.

You can use the space for widgets, the trick is that you have to go to a larger grid size, place the widget at the bottom, and then change the grid size to be one notch smaller.
I did this so that my twitter widget is stretched to the very end of the screen, and the same thing for the jorte calendar on another screen.
It's easy
Using the additional screen area at the bottom can be done, but only for resizable items (widgets). Here's how. Increase your vertical grid capacity by one. I run a 5x4, so I would switch to a 6x4. Use a gesture feature to hide the dock bar. Any widget that was on the bottom of your previous grid will now be one row up from the bottom. RESIZE the widget to occupy the bottom row (do not move it). For a 1x1widget, you would be turning it into a 2x1 widget. Now, go back into your preferences ---> screen settings. Revert back to your original grid layout and return to your home screen. The bottom widgets should occupy the full lower area.
There are three problems with doing this.
1) Any time you show the dock bar, the widgets will not adjust, meaning that the dock will cover part of the widget(s).
2) If you long press any of the lower widgets, it will detect the missing grid row and relocate the widget. In the event this happens, you must repeat the process all over again. This means no moving or resizing widgets once they're in place.
3) The spacing between the lower widgets and anything directly above them is increased due to the widget occupying a larger vertical area. This creates a less uniform look. Note that this only applies to widgets that do not stretch when resized (fixed widget size).
How this helps.
This thread is awesome, now I can finally make some MIUI like interface.
So I made some icons for a theme I am trying to put together with ADW Launcher EX. The icon is for the "Launcher Actions" icons to move from one screen to another. I noticed though when I apply the icon I made it seems to be a lot smaller than the icon space provided, no matter how big I end up making the icon.
Anybody have any ideas on how I could make it bigger or have a different method of moving from one screen to another with the ADW action thats there?
is there any white space/empty space around the icons you can crop away?
No there isnt. I am saving them as pngs and are as close to the image border as I can make them to be.
LCD Density causes too many problems with the Market and downloading apps, so I'm trying to find an alternate way to get a more minimalistic setup.
Go Launcher looks great at first. It has an option where i can directly set how large I want my screen icons to be all the way down to 48px. Perfect. The problem is it doesn't have any options to customize the dock outside of downloading themes. I hate the way the dock looks, I can't even make it smaller, and I don't need themes.
ADW has the opposite problem. I can fully customize the dock the way I want to but there aren't any options to make home screen icons smaller unless you pay for the full version.
All I really want are smaller home screen icons like how Go Launcher offers, but I can't find any app that does only that, or found any launcher that combines ADW's dock customization with Go Launcher's icon customization.
Any ideas?
The only "solution" I've found is to take a screenshot of my phone, open it in IrfanView on my PC, crop and resize the dock icons, then save them to a folder in the phone and use them to replace the dock icons. I used ADW and miss that function in Go Launcher EX.

Doesn't sound like a very convenient solution...
Is Go Launcher open source? If no one's been able to make an app, I could just see how Go Launcher does it and make a solution myself.
I've tried Go Launcher EX, but I hated the small dock icons. I'm using Samsung Galaxy Nexus, is there a Launcher that:
1 Don't alter the ICS dock icon size, or that have an option to resize the dock icons?
2 That support swipe gesture in the dock? (Swipe upwards to open shortcut)
3 Where it is easy to swap icons?
Which Launcher can do this?
With ADW Launcher you can easily change icons and you can resize the dock icons in the settings. I'm not sure if the free version has dock gestures but it does have gesture support.

Latest Go launcher EX has option to resize dock icons too.

No? I've installed the latest Go Launcher EX and can not find that option, where is it?
The "Icon size" setting only changs the icon size of all icons...
changing icon size to large instead of a custom size seems to also change dock icon sizes in go launcher.
ADW seems to be the only launcher I've used that has the ability to tweak dock icon sizes and numbers properly.

However, Go Launcher latest updates did claim that resizing the dock was doable, so let's hope it's possible for Go Launcher soon.
i managed to make all the dock icons the same same by unchecking Icon Base (show/hide icon base) under pref -> visual styes -> icons

I went to preferences->visual->icons and changed the size to small, the icons were normal size (larger) then! I hope this helps!
What size grid are you guys using that are using Nova or Apex? I tried running 9x7 which is what it seems like it should be at 160 dpi... but then the icon labels don't show up. So I moved it back down to 9x6 and the icon labels show, but now my Asus weather widget is cut off on the bottom. I feel like I've tried every combination, but no matter what I try I can't get Nova to show both the icon labels and not cut off my weather widget.
Trebuchet works, but the grid seems a little small on that TBH, and I like the card stack animation on Nova.
