Not sure if this is an issue, or an oversight on my part. I just noticed that my home screen defaults to the number 3 window instead of the number 1 window. Is this normal, or is something wrong with my mine?

Is there a way to have the stock calender app default to the month view like the og evo did?
In case anyone else was having trouble with this I figured it out. Hold down the month icon and drag it to the left so that it's first on The list.

Thank you for this, wanted agenda view first and it now works!!
This doesnt work for me. It keeps defaulting to "day"
Danny, go to all apps > calender . Then look at the bottom you will see 4 icons. For you day is probably first. Long press the day icon until the screen turns black and it will say press and hold icons to rearrange. You can sort the 4 icons and by sorting month icon all the way on the left side it will now default to month.
Mine will always just reopen the last tab I was in. Doesn't matter what order I put it in. If I end in month...it will open in month the next time.

Thank you for trying to help. Unfortunately that is exactly what I did(as per reading your second post) and it did not work. Ive moved all of the icons around multiple times. I have DAY at the end of the row now and it still defaults to it. I even tried dragging that icon up out of the bottom row but it wouldnt let me.

Is there a way to reposition where the sms popup shows up on the screen? Mine by default shows up in the top left of the screen and I use my right hand most of the time so to reach that far is tough when only using one hand.

My G2 put them there too. As far as I know, that's the only location, but maybe someone else has a better idea.
Hi,
I am on latest version of coloros 7. I have tried everything I know but have not been able to get rid of these home screen animations which look like brackets at the border of the bottom edges.
Please help.
Attaching pics for clear picture. Note the brackets () at the bottom edges.

I have tried resetting themes to default. Home screen settings to different drawer styles. Changing icon types. Assistive ball off.
Everything literally in home screen and lock screen magazine menu.
The thing is it happens only in full screen mode. With navigation buttons, those brackets dont exist.
Btw, do you have these jn your mobile?

Very strange.
What is "Assistive ball"?
Sorry but I can't replicate this on my device.
Maybe someone can help who has the same issue

Ok. Thats new.
Donno why.
There is also a line in the middle which is aligned with the bottom edge. Its not associated with home screen settings. I have no idea what it is.

Maybe check developer options? See if there's anything in there that has been activated.

I have absolutely no idea to be honest.
Have a look and see if there are any toggles you can turn on or off.
One at a time. Check. If no...turn back on/off. Check another.
Just a thought.
As I said...I cannot replicate the issue you have and it is clear that you have some settings on your device that I don't, so I'm kind of looking at this blindly

Ok ok. Thanks anyway ?
On a different topic, could you suggest me a good back cover and screen guard for the device.

No problem.
I still have the original case and film screen protector that came in the box.
Found the solution
This is pretty much a swipe up to trigger google assistant, it appears when you turn on gesture control and it's a prompt (albeit not a very good one) to make you understand how to trigger it .
Since you can't swipe up from the middle to activate the assistant you need to swipe from the corners , do so 5 or 6 times and eventually the prompt disappears.
It's quite annoying. I cannot access the menu bar anymore. Looks like the first cm of the screen cannot be accessed.
If I go to settings, I can use it. In other apps, such as WhatsApp it's not accessible. It happened after the restart when it updated Android to v12.
Does anybody know a workaround?
To be more precise, the upper part of the screen can't be accessed. If I rotate the screen into landscape mode, it's fine. I can also not click buttons or text on the upper screen area. It's about 1 cm from the top. Everything else from down there works.
And as I said in my original post. If I open an app, the upper screen area works as well, so it's not a hardware issue.

Do you use an app like Energy Bar? I reset my phone for the same issue and whe reinstalling each app I found it was Energy Bar causing the issue, I guess because it requests screen overlay permissions?

You're welcome, I was so annoyed that I had to reset my phone because of this, at least I'll know if it happens again!
