I'm from Australia and I bought a Samsung galaxy SII off my mate before he went away and i can't get hold of him to get the touch password off him.
Is there anyway i can bypass this?

I have no idea how to use this phone so i dont get what you mean.
I may suffer from retardation in this department.
Sorry, I meant recovery. With the phone off, hold the volumn up key, home, and power at the same time. Should be an option to wipe/factory reset there.... this will erase everything

I don't think you can factory reset while the phone is password locked. Tried it once on an S1 when a friend's kid locked them out of the phone due to too many pattern attempts.
You will probably have to flash a new rom via Odin. You can download the firmware off xda or sammobile.com. Just search and you will find heaps of info.
If your in Melbourne I can probably help you.

You have install the drivers in your pc inorder to get your phone detected, if you are using windows 7, it will download it automatically from net.

Me and my fiance both have Samsung gs2's, both rooted the same way using the same rom. I bought a USB jig to reserved the counter and it worked fine on my phone but when I tried to use it on hers it wouldn't clear the custom counter. And the top of the screen in download mode it says odin mode on my phone but on hers it says factory mode. Could that be the reason it's not letting me reset the counter? If so how do I get hers to say Odin mode?
Thanks Adam

Sorry to bump this thread, but I thought it better than creating a new one!
I've just bought a USB jig and encountered the same issue ('Factory Mode', etc). I figured that I may have to flash the old bootloader to get it to work, but I've got a couple of questions first...
1) Does it matter what bootloader I use? I'm currently running ICS 4.0.3 (the XXLPB leak).
2) What are the differences between flashing it via 'bootloader' and 'PDA'?
3) What are the odds of bricking my phone? I've read that bootloaders are what cause most issues.
4) Do I need to re-flash my current bootloader (wherever I'd find that) or will my phone run the same/differently with the old one?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. Still a bit new to all this!

No one can help you unless you provide enough useful information about what you have done. You should have read and learned enough to avoid making a mistake in the first place, but if you will tell us what you have done, maybe you'll get some help. What exactly did you flash with Odin? Provide a link to it? You did not get the warning on boot from flashing stock. What method did you use to try to enter download mode? To try to enter Recovery?

That's not a galaxys2root produced file. That is the straight stock Kies file which they downloaded from SamFirmware or Samsung Updates. That didn't cause the problem.
You say you can now not enter either download mode or recovery?
Don't do a wipe data with that installed if you do get into recovery!

I'm not sure why your phone is having problems. You should be able to just flash stock and start over. If it were my phone, I would flash UCKH7 stock plus root, install a Gingerbread custom kernel, and then pick a firmware from the development forum. If you choose to follow that path, be sure to open the Oden window first before putting your phone into download mode. If you need additional information, there is plenty of help in the guides and threads linked in my signature.

Upgraded by going into About Phone > Updates etc, found an update, downloaded, installed, got into phone. Nothing seemed changed, weird, so I did it again, found an update, installed and now it won't start up. I get to the "logo"-screen that shows the Galaxy logo but nothing more. It just stops. I can get into "Recovery", but don't know what to do with it. It's not rooted, not changed anything but the Launcher. It's about a year old. I'm not very good at this, but I really need some help.

If you can get into download mode and are willing to try, you can install a new firmware via Odin. You'll get the firmwares from sammobile.com and tutorials on how to use Odin are abundant. Just use Google or search this site.
Ensure you only download a firmware for your own variant. ie. Don't try installing an i9100G firmware on your i9100 international/M/P/T and vice versa.

The download is compressed so you need to extract it (unzip). I am not familar with Zip opener but it probably works like the others (7-zip, etc). Just right click on the file and choose extract. Then you should see a normal application you can open.

Hi,
Is there any way to reset binary code when my phone won't go into boot. Thanks But the problem is the phone won't boot and therefore it will not load the OS. As far as I understand, the link you send is if you can't see what's on the screen and there by using your pc can see the phones sceen. Or am wrong? I've been reading a lot of theads but nothing have been successful..

First thanks for all the answers
Well first I rooted the phone with this program: Samsung Galaxy S3 Toolkit and Odin that worked fine. Then I downloaded CM and Gapps to the sd-card and flashed it trough CWM and that went fine. The phone worked fine and everything was good.. Then months after it started to reboot it self and then one morning, after a reboot, it deleted all my text massages. The next day it wont boot. Some people says that there is someting wrong with my motherboard, but what do you guys think?
I found an article that says that rooting and flashing doesn't void the warrenty (EU) " If it is not possible to revert it stock software any more, it is also not a software-caused defect" and the warrenty is still valid And that's excatly what im experienced.
Thanks

Oh yes it does under Samsung warranty rules .
Fact is better than the fiction of eu and root not voiding warranty as its not a law and Samsung is not the vendor .
Any claim for repair must be made against the vendor .
