I have an upgrade available, and I am not sure whether to get an HTC amaze, Samsung Galaxy S2, or wait. Is there something better than those two around the corner for T-mobile? When I say soon i mean late January, early February.

no release date or eta is out...rumors according to leaked roadmaps indicate may/june-ish but who knows...the bolt was pegged at january and turned into mid march
if u *need* to upgrade now for some reason get the bolt...but if u dont live in a 4g area ur better off waiting
Thank You for the info I dont need to upgrade there is vzw 4g in my area I was considering a upgrade because verizon has offered me a early upgrade on any device until the end of the month I really want to wait until the Galaxy2 becomes available . I can only hope it would be this month or hope they will allow me a upgrade to 4g device when available I want to get a 4g before the unltd data price increase for 4g happens.
I doubt the SGS2 will be available before mid-summer. The international version is supposed to be released this month, and if they follow suit from the original SGS line, the US variants will launch starting in the summer. VZW was last to release last year, in September, so it's possible we could be waiting until then
I dont really want the hercules.. 4.5 is too big and this seems like the flagship phone .. do you guys think it will? if not.. guess im rolling with the sensation but id rather have this so what you guys think?
And i cant switch carriers which sucks
anyone please?
Maybe.....
There's been no mention of T-Mobile getting the SGS2 anywhere. AT&T and VZW will get a LTE variant this year. Sprint will get one but there's been no mention of timing. The Hercules is due in September so it seems highly unlikely T-Mobile would get both the Hercules and SGS2 in the same year. Maybe sometime next year but by then there may not even be a T-Mobile US.
I've been trying to get info on what new phones will be available by the end of the year but the only phone I can find is the galaxy s3. Will this be the best high end model by q4 2012? Or should I hold out for something better?

Its hard to say, phone tech evolves very fast. While the Galaxy S III will probably be a monster when it releases it can potentially be overshadowed by phones released in Q4. When i got the SGS Vibrant on Tmo i was excited to know it was the best phone they had then after getting locked into a contract the Vibrant 4G released, making me mad as hell.
Best thing i can suggest is do your research and find out the pros and cons of a phone you want to get and see if you can live for 2 years with that. I was interested in the HTC one S coming to Tmo but the only thing that is a turn off for me is the memory or better yet the lack of (16Gb internal and no expansion)
I just bought my first Samsung Android phone, Galaxy S III (Sprint). Historically I've been brand loyal to Samsung, but I've went with the HTC EVO line for the past two years because I thought Samsung didn't release Android updates in a timely fashion. Is this still the case? How likely is Samsung going to release Jellybean for the S III and when?

Since this is the variant, it will definitely be slower than the international version. Most are quick to blame Samsung but thats not really the case. It does take time for them to come out with the update (no different than HTC or anyone else), but the carriers are normally to blame for the later releases. ON my international Galaxy S 2, we could get leaked updates fairly quickly through samfirmware but the variants do take considerably longer. The variant SGS2 just got ICS in the past few months where my international SGS2 had it month upon months before that. Lets hope that since our variants are very similar, that it may be much quicker than a year this time. Fingers crossed
From my experience, Samsung comes out with updates quickly. The carriers take forever to release and add their bloat ware.

Damn carriers! I remember my Sprint EVO 4G getting Gingerbread relatively quickly (2 - 3 months) and being shocked. But my EVO 3D still hasn't gotten ICS after 14 months. Looks like Sprint has started slacking big time which probably means the even slower Samsung update timeframes won't ever produce an update
Can't be any slower then Motorola can it?

Any word on when we can expect the update? It's rumored the S4 and htc one's will get it sometime in January. Do you think we will get it before them or around the same time?

Samsung leaked doc that listed the S4 also had the Note 3 for Jan.
No one knows. Only lists you will find are approximations for international versions. It will be months after that for the carriers to release it.
And the carriers have the final say on whether your device gets it.
This same question is asked every time a new version of OS is released
The only reason 4.3 was pushed to everyone was for Galaxy Gear compatibility before the holidays.
