[Q] Does Vlingo work on 10.1? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone managed to successfully install Vlingo on the 10.1? When I try to install it, it fails and reports that it is not compatible with my version of Android, which is erroneously reported as a version prior to Android 2.2. I am stumped as to why this is, and would love to get this program working on this brand new Verizon Galaxy 10.1 Tab. Thanks in advance!

[Q] New to Android - Q about rooting Galaxy tab and other issues

Hi, I just bought myself a new galaxy tab 10.1 (i believe the p7510 model). Basically its the one thinner than the ipad. I'm switching over from an ipad and after getting lazy with that tablet, I'm kind of struggling with a few things.
First, i dislike the touchwiz UI, so that is the main reason for rooting. First I had a couple of general questions.
-I found this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089
As i understand it i have to install the CWM rom. But it seems all the cwm roms listed for the wifi verson say they have touchwiz on it. Also, the ohter ones are starburst, bonsai, etc. What is the difference? what do i go with? What I'm looking for basically is to replace my current rom with the official google rom so i basically have a google experience tablet like those given out at IO. Also to clarify, does STOCK rom mean the rom from sansung that came with the tablet?
- If i somehow succeed in doing this rom update, how do i update my tablet once an update is out? will google basically push updates to my tab, so i can download them over wifi when i check for updates. or do i have to download a new rom and go through this process every time an update comes out.
- Once i do this rom unroot thing, i will hvae android marketplace? are there any issues generally with rom replacement?
- Lastly a general question about the android marketplace: Is there any way to differentiate tablet apps from normal apps when im browsing the store?
-
if this isnt the right forum, could someone let me know where to post this.

[Q] Update Samsung i7500

Hallo to everyone.
I have Samsung i7500 and I want to update android version from 1.5 to 2.2,but I don't know how to do it and what I need to do that. Please, can someone help me where to find good tutorial and all what I need to update OS.
You will need to root your device, http://www.drakaz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=344
install recovery http://www.drakaz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=680
And choose the best rom for you .
And install it http://code.google.com/p/gaosp/wiki/PublicBeta
If you want froyo build use gaosp 2 beta 3.
If you want gingerbread use gingerbread nightly build.
Thanks
Thanks. Just installed it. (gingerbread)
It was a hassle though: SDCard wasn't accessible on Windows 7 machine. Worked on XP.
Now googling how to get my market to work.

[Q] How can I upgrade the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to ICS 4.0 or Jellybean?

My sister has an original galaxy tab 10.1. I noticed it is running Android version 3.1
The tablet was purchased in the US, though she's not currently in the United States. Not sure if that matters, but she's not received any OTA update.
This is a WIFI only tablet. How can I remotely upgrade it to ICS 4.0 or Jellybean. She doesn't want any customized ROM on it.
Firstly, where can I get stock ROM for ICS 4.0?
Secondly, if I remote into her PC, I am able to see the contents of her tablet, when it is connected to her laptop. Does that help?

The link above has all the stock roms but prerooted. I flashed the rogers one for my dad through CWM the other day worked very good.
You can flash CWM recovery through odin and then update it through ROM Manager app.(That is how I did it)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185
this is for the wifi version, if you have any other version you have to find the model number and search how to root it.
at the end, you will have a tab that look like stock but is rooted.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 firmware swap?

I haven't, thanks. I just am curious if it is possible.
I'm rooted and doing fine with that but the intrigue has me wondering!
Upgrading to android 4.0.4 legality
I have a new Galaxy 10.1v with Android 3.2. Can I upgrade to Android 4.0.4 without loosing the guarantee?
I upgraded my Galaxy SII to a third party Android 4.0.3 without any problems using Kies and Odin.
Is it OK to use the same method for Galaxy 10.1v ?
NOTE.. I screwed it up the first time somehow using Kies which could not find the USB port.
I then used ODIN but forgot to set the ' allow USB debugging´ . Odin found the USB port and started pushing the
upgrade to my phone, but about half-way through all came to a halt. I tried several times, always the same.
In desperation,I finally managed to find the ´reset to factory state´ thinking I would have my v. 3.2 back, but not so.
Now I was really up the creek without a paddle and finally sent the Galaxy back for replacement.
Grateful for some advice.
Tore

Can't flash any rom

Very new to Samsung in general, and subsequently the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P7510). I managed to get the device back to stock (bought it with some whack stuff on it), successfully rooted and flashed the most recent recovery. My problem is that I can't flash any ROMs...
I guess maybe I shouldn't say ANY but i've tried SlimBean (which nobody else seems to have any problems with - me? constant bootloop fun), and D2Dyno's CM 10.1 which fails on flash EVERY time.
The Tab I bought is the Google I/O version but that shouldn't make any difference right? if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it since I'm new and can't actually post in the development thread
Thanks in advance...
