Change the Phone button function on headset - HTC Rezound

So it's kinda dumb that when I hold the phone button on the headset it launches the "phone dialer" rather than "Voice Search". Is there a way of changing this somewhere?

I don't see any shortcuts you can alter in the settings. Might have to wait for custom roms and kernels.

[Q] nook "n" mapper

Does anyone know if it would be possible to write an app that would re-map the nook "n" (home) to open up a small popup, that would give access to all four of the main android buttons? i.e., home, back, menu, search. (similar popup to the long press home to 'recent programs' list that android has), maybe even adding the recent programs too?
That way we could still get home, but it wouldn't be impossible to use standard android programs because of the lack of hardware keys.
I loaded "Alidko," which works great, but once I open a book, I have to read the whole thing to get back to the main app screen since there is no 'back' button.
EDIT:
Someone made it

I am an iOS coder, but, looking at the docs, not only does this appear possible, it doesn't look like it would be too difficult for an android coder that knows their way around.
I believe the right thing to do would be, in order of preference/elegance:
1. Have a "long press" on the nook/home key expose the status bar via a "service" that listens for and captures this even
2. Have a "long press" on the nook key display a window that shows a set of "soft keys"

A solution was posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9556837&postcount=1 to remap the volume keys. Although not as elegant as an app would be, it works great. I have my volume up key remapped to "MENU" and volume down as "BACK".
In Aldiko it works perfectly.
That is a good temporary solution, but I would personally not like to loose the volume functionality.
Anyone think they could make a pop-up like that? I am not sure how hard it would be to make the pop-up send the 'softkey' to the other app and not just close itself (i.e., back)...

[Q] Button remapping? Turn off Voice Command?

Is there any way to remap the four bottom buttons on the Photon to different functions? In particular, I'd like to get rid of the way the long-press search button triggers voice command. (So if I can't remap the button, can I at least turn off voice command?)
Thanks in advance for any help!
Well -- not an answer yet, but I did figure out that you can freeze "Voice Command" and "Voice Search" via Titanium Backup, which will at least keep the prompt from popping up. Better than nothing, I guess.
Either download another app that utilizes the long press on search (like vlingo) to give you the menu of apps the next time you long press OR Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - tap on Voice Search - Clear defaults (or Clear Data) .
Do you mean that Vlingo always maps the search button long-press to an app menu, or just to set a default action? I did find that freezing voice command and voice search through Titanium Backup at least stopped the voice prompts from triggering...add benefit that it worked for Swype too.
The presence of any another voice-controlled app, like vlingo, makes the menu pop up.

[Q] Custom Bluetooth headset button actions?

Did a quick search and found nothing -- is there any application or way to customize the actions performed when the headset button is pressed?
I use Tasker for various automated things, but looks like there's nothing there (did I miss something?).
Specifically, this is the button on a bluetooth headset that would normally start the voice dialer -- I'd like it to do something different, perhaps. I know that the button's "command" can be intercepted by some applications, because I know that Vlingo, when installed, becomes an option of an application that would "handle" the bluetooth button press (i.e. when I press it, it pops up a window for "which application do you want to use for this").
Unfortunately, Vlingo just uses this to launch its own voice dialer...
Thoughts? If it matters, I'm using the Galaxy Nexus on ICS.
Thanks!
*bump*? ^_^
bump? Anyone? =/
I'm interested in knowing whether there's a solution for this as well, I'm wanting Jeannie/assistant called when I hit the call button on BT headset.
I know this is old but I'm look for a option to do this. Running a old stereo deck in my car but is bluetooth enabled and would love to have something trigger Google Now or Voice Dialer. Possibly by long pressing the play button or something.

How will Samsung implement the JB voice action?

Since its a...hold the home button, then Swype up to the virtual icon that pops up to activate Google Now.
Any ideas as to what they will do? I knew this button thing was a bad idea. :cyclops:
I think (though I may be mistaken) you can also access Google Now the same way you access voice search (the mike icon on the search bar on the home screen). This would obviously be much less convenient, though.
In my opinion they should kick s-voice to the curb! but thats just me
That's right...double tap brings up Voice. Maybe that's what they will do. Sucks that because of S Voice...there is a slight pause after pressing the button once to get back Home.
simple, replace long-press menu.
They might implement re-assigning the home button function, JB Voice looks pretty sweet.

Question Possible

Does the Pixel 6 have "Shortcut to prevent ringing". Searching around it seems it should be a "Pixel" feature and is listed in the Google support page (link) but I do not have the on my Pixel 6 for "Change what happens when you press Power + Volume up". Is there a way to enable it on the Pixel 6?
That is a legacy thing. Now power and volume up is emergency menu. You would need to find a custom rom where someone takes out the emergency menu and restores the old feature.
They made it easier to silence calls by flipping to shh which turns on DND, and also taping volume and the toggle is right at the top of the slider.
I remapped double tapping volume down to set it to "vibrate only" using the button mapper app.
