At least it seems to work the same
Hi there,
I am pretty new here, too. And just bought my Galaxy Tab 10.1N 3G version last week. Since my phone is also rooted and has Cyanogenmod on top of it, I wanted to try rooting and installing custom roms on my Tab, too. Since I did not find an answer to your question, I just gave it a shot yesterday. The 10.1N version is 7501 (at least the 3G one). I installed overcome 2.X and it works. In the information it is now listed as an 7500, which I think is the standard version. I also installed a Wifi only custom rom and it works. The tab is then listed as 7510. But if you install the Wifi only version, your SIM is not found and you downgrade your tab to the Wifi only, so to speak. So I would say, as for custom roms the 10.1N is pretty much the same. But I am rather an end user and certainly no developer. So I can only tell you, what I experienced till now. Don't blame me, if you encounter problems.
Best regards,
Bel.

I was hoping this official release would get rid of my roaming triangle problem(always shows roaming in china) but it did not. I have searched tons of threads and no solution even trying many different roms. So is anyone here using a hermes in china?(mine is a softbank) if so is it always showing the roaming triangle? Have you upgraded to the latest official firmware or what firmware are you running.
Any help would be appreaciated.
Jeff
yup.
hi jeff...
就是这样。 I too have a softbank hermes. I flashed it about 3 months back with Black 2.0 (which if you look in these forums v3 is out now...)
it has been working just fine since then. no roaming triangle. I also recently flashed the radio to 1.41 and I get great reception just about everywhere but my kitchen.
unless you are looking for a full chinese rom... which i prefer the english rom, but then I run a font patch and a couple of other IME's (for imputing chinese characters) to make it usable.
works wonderful by the way.
even the 3g when i pay for it (tho usually i just stick to my china-slow wifi).
let me know if you have specific questions or you can PM me... i might be more likely to notice that... though it wont be as helpful to the community.
i have 2 other friends that have bought the hermes since I have and it all works well for them, they're all running black (v2 and v3).
Hi guys,
First off, I used this forum 2-3 months ago to update from basic viewsonic g tab software to Vegan 7, thank you so so much for all the input. Could not have done it without the great posts.
In need of help again. I've researched my issues but haven't found an answer that was clear enough that made sense for me.
I have an issue of files deleting themselves, but I believe I found the answer from a poster named generosity, thank you I will try that.
My real issue now is that I have no sound for video. The speakers don't work until i plug in and unplug a headset. my research has indicated all the fixes are temporary, such as plug in headset to make it work. I want a permanent solution because I use this for my young daughter and she isn't capable of rolling headsets or pluggin them in yet lol.
So, my questions are.. is there a permanent fix in the software I am running now? Is there an update to the vegan software(i didn't see one) which caused me to look for a downgrade but all I saw was vegan 5.1 which was beta also. I dont see any reason why 5.1 wouldn't work if we know things run well on it??? I also saw a little bit newer kernel, will upgrading the kernel fix it absolutely? As I said, upgrade/downgrade, just a way to get to something stable.
If you have solutions to my question and it is an upgrade or downgrade of anything, please post the link to how to do it.
Thank you so much and I hope I didn't beat a topic that has already been covered.
Below is my build.

Hey guys,
I'm having some major issues with GPS on my g/f's I5500. For some reason GPS isn't working at all. I ordered this thing online and haven't been able to get it working despite numerous attempts with suggestions from this forums and others.
Amongst *trying* to get a decent baseband on this thing, I've tried the recommended GPS optimisation apps and such to no avail. Regardless of application nothing is picking up any GPS satellites, which makes me think this is a firmware or hardware problem. I'm of course hoping it's not the latter of the two.
This is a european I5500 (looking to have an optimal configuration with froyo in Germany) being used in Germany.
I'm to the point now that I believe I need to downgrade this to a typical German 2.1 (or just an older 2.2 rom perhaps) and then let Odin update the phone accordingly. I've had a little bit of a hard time really understanding the Galaxy 5 scene (X10 user normally).
Anyone saying I need to "learn how to use the search function" can respectfully keep his opinion to himself as I have definitely given this a shot.
My basic understanding of the I5500 scene at the moment is that since 2.2 was released mostly all attention is being given to CM7.1 and roms designed for daily use are harder to get running due to bad links to Team MAD's site.
Could anyone give me a hand?

sorry 2 x same post so deleted

Hey guys/devs. I have been looking around and it does not look like there are any roms or kernals for the verizon 4g gtab 10.1. Also seems like there was only one link to the root file scattared across the world wide web and it is a broken link. If any one has the file or a different link that would be awesome. Also I would love to see some roms and kernals for this thing. Hope someone can help out I know that I am not the only one awaiting some dev to step up to the plate.
Thanks guys!!!
There must be a reason. The reasons I am hearing are:
1) LTE Tab isnt selling that well and consequently the dev community isn't working on the LTE Tab (I don't think this is the case, the guy that sold me mine sold 7 that day. Yes, I asked)
2) Honeycomb is closed source and it is more difficult for the dev community to produce roms (again I don't really buy this. There are a relatively substantial amount of roms and kernels available for all of the other versions of the GT)
3) There are differences in hardware/software that make the LTE GT more difficult to work on. (I can attest to this not being true because I am typing this now on a LTE GT running the Wi-Fi GT version of Starburst Rom. It definitely took some tweaking to get it running, but it runs. That being said I obviously have no 4g/3g radio. Maybe someone is stuck on that part.)
I saw a post from the developer of Starburst Rom saying he would try for an LTE version. Let's hope so because I shelled out extra money for the LTE version which is serving no purpose right now.
any unlock for Verizon 4g to use out side U.S?
or way to convert it to 3g ?
I'm waiting you...
locked tab
the lte version galaxy tab 10.1 can receive 3g data connections as well as 4g when there isnt a 4g available in the area you just receive 3g. I doubt it would ever be unlocked because the bootloader is locked on the lte version galaxy tab
Thanks

Thanks I will keep my eyes open. Hopefully we see something.
There is a kernel available for this, I have it installed on my Verizon LTE Galaxy Tab it is Pershoots latest for the SCH-I905 and can be found here:

I used it to OC my tablet and it worked great, no issues with with the radio whatsoever that i can find. Completely stable and greatly enjoying the OC abiliites. Hope this helps.

My problem (I think) is because I am running a rom that was designed for the wi-fi only version. I have an LTE kernel but the rom seems to still have no access to radio. I am really hoping someone finds the stock rom or someone tweaks a different rom to allow access to the LTE radio.
FYI, if you are rooted and using AnyConnect VPN for work, then the Kernal by Pershoots will break this.
I just flashed his kernal last night and overclocked with no issues. Then of course this morning I get a phone call that internet went down at a site. When I got there I tried to fire up VPN to get back to my main site, and it failed to load the tun.ko module Luckily I was able to flash the stock one back, and then AnyConnect started working.
I would love to be able to be overclocked, but I need AnyConnect to work.
I really miss my Xoom

I'm new to the tab world. I also have a Verizon Galaxy LTE tab. Did you root before you flashed this kernel? What rom are you using?
Dear XDA,
Please help me resolve this issue:
Newly bought, stock unrooted galaxy s3 (cytanet Cyprus provider) will connect to HSPA once say the wifi is turned off and for as long as you use the internet and not let it sleep. As soon as it falls asleep, after waking it will be stuck on 3g yielding very uplink/downlink speeds.
I've had the same issue with my s2 on a samsung based ICS rom, only switching to an AOKP base helped. Shocked to find this issue persists on a new phone. Is there any way to fix this without rooting and flashing.
Your answers and feedback are much appreciated.
Best Regards

Sorry to ressurect this. But have tried every possible way. Nothing works. Apparently all Samsung roms have this issue on my network. As well as all samsung phones. If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate.

Which network are you on?
Have you tried every possible radio firmware for your phone? I had a similar issue with several phones in the past and it's usually been solved by changing to a different radio. YOU can find all the radios in cwm flashable zip/odin flashable tar in this thread.
Also what exactly have you tried, everything is a hard place to start to give advice from, a bullet point list will be helpful.

Thank you very much for your reply. Here are all the steps I have been through with this issue.
Galaxy S2 after ICS upgrade is when this first surfaced:
i)Went through all the settings for fast dormancy etc
ii)Flashed at least 15 different modems issue was present on all of them
iii)Flashed 4-5 different roms based on Samsung, the issue was present on all.
iv)Flashed Ressurection Remix. That fixed the issue.
Galaxy S3 - thought i would not have this issue on this phone, However it appears that this issue is confined to phones running samsung based roms or stock samsung roms on my network.
I am using Cytamobile-Vodafone based in Cyprus. I really dont wanna flash aosp or aokp to galaxy s3 as i will loose the S-beam functionality and I use it a lot.
I really appreciate your input.
Best Regards

PS: the Galaxy S3 is unrooted, I would like to keep it this way however if there is a solution that requires root and would allow me to stick with a Samsung rom I will gladly do it. I wonder if this issue will be present on the Galaxy Note 2 or all other Samsung phones.
PSS: Also I have received the official JB update for G3 and the issue is still there.
