[Q] Google Maps displays blurry, phone resolution is low. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The phone is Sony Ericsson X10 Mini pro,
the resolution is only 320 x 240.
The stock rom contains Google Maps which displays clear and with correct resolution.
I flashed it with a custom rom and installed Google Maps manually,
but it displays blurry which seems like be with wrong resolution.
I also tried to installed a burt version of Google Maps, it displays correctly.
I want to know how can I make the Google Maps works with correct resolution just like it originally works?
Can I setup it?
Here is a snapshot,
the left 2 pics are incorrect while the right 2 are correct.
The fonts are not the same.
Also you can find the buttons of zoom in/out are not the same.
Thanks if you read my post.

How to launch Gallery3D ?

I tried to install Gallery3D.apk (Froyo backport), but it kept saying "Application was not installed". Then suddenly while starting another program (contacts) the nexus-style gallery popped up anyway!
After checking with another device it seems Gallery3D comes with our 2.1 build, and can be seen under menu->settings->manage applications->list all, but there is no way to start it! It certainly does not show up in Launcher Pro on my device.
Google search on the device, which successfully finds other installed applications, does not find Gallery.
1) Any ideas on how to create a shortcut to the program, and how to make it take over for media scape?
2) Any ideas as to how the program started in that fluke moment, and what implications that might have (in terms of other potential exploits)?
The device is not home right now, so if somebody please could try:
Settings->applications->media scape->clear defaults and see if Gallery can take over as jpg-viewer

China android phone problems

I have recently bought an android phone from chinavasion.com, the android market (google play) calls it "Alps Neobox" but i don't think it really has a name. Everything works just fine except for 2 minor "inconvenients" i have found: the accelerometer is not properly calibrated and i can't find any way to calibrate it (i already tried with Gps Status but nothing changed). The second inconvenient i have found is related (i think) to the icons management and it gives me this kind of display with the android robot icon and the com.* name:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
does anyone have any solution to any of those problems?
The Android version is 4.0.3 and it uses a 3.0.13 kernel.
I managed to solve the accelerometer thing by calibrating it via recovery menĂ¹ and i figured out that the icon problem is related to the fact that those apps are installed on the sd card and which is mounted after the launcher has already loaded. You can close this topic.

[Q] Apps that use camera like QR readers have corrupted image with Jelly Bean ROM

I just installed the Jelly Bean ROM on my Galaxy Player 4.0. I used this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333769
It works great, performance is like triple what it was before (my Gingerbread was seriously messed up), and it runs very smooth. The normal Camera app works fine too (camera support was preventing me from messing around with other ROMs in the past that lacked it). The problem comes when I use other apps that access the camera. I tried Google Goggles and Microsoft Tag (to read QR codes) and in both of them the image showed up like this, making the apps worthless:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It's not a huge deal, since I mainly just use the Camera app, but it's annoying not to be able to use these apps. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

[Q] Camera app with levelling?

Is there a normal camera app which uses the leveltool in android?
Why? because i see lots of pictures with an angled horizon, caused by holding the phone under a slightly angle when taking pictures. (including myself)
The only apps which use this feature are the panorama apps. It starts working from the second picture till the last. I'd like to see an app which has this feature by single shots.
thnx
Here's an example of what i mean:
Take a look at the waterlevel. It's not straight. I's diffiult to get that horizontal. A gridline with a beep would be nice. I noticed on my default camera app there's a tiny gridline. i can't see it in this conditions.

Question Black Screen on Login Screen Instagram - Android 12 only - Tab A7 Lite issue

Hi Guys,
I have tried everything I can without downgrading or root access, there seems to be an overlay on Instagram's login.
I have a farm of 100 A7's Lite, Carrier T-Mobile and if I open Instagram the login page is black, if I click back for a split second I can see the login page, so its there, but this black screen covers it, if the bot logs in then the screen is removed. I am sure its security related but I can't find a fix
Its only related to Android 12, it does not happen on 11, installing an old APK form 6months ago works until it updates in the background, I uninstalled, reinstalled, removed all bloatware including t-mbile played around with many developer settings and so far no luck
