When creating themes for ROMs like Liberty, what would I need to download into Metamorph to start? I keep trying to simply tweak some themes that are already out there, but I keep getting some message about "theme control file missing." Any ideas on what I should dl into sdcard/androidthemes? Also, when using UOT Kitchen, I get a installation aborted message with Error 0 when I try to flash.
(And thanks to Overmind for his help. Just thought I would quit bothering him and try a public question)
In UOT you need to make sure you check the option for amend script.
I haven't tried metamorph but if you search in the themes forum you'll find a post about android tools that was posted by navenedrob. Its probably on the 6th or 7th page by now. That's what got me started. I'd post the link but I'm not at a pc right now.
EDIT: Here's the link [REF]Android Tools to help with Theming and Modding

Guys, can anyone write a guide to teach us how to make your own framework?
I searched all over the net and actually not one is teaching.
Please make a guide if u know how to make it.
Thanks in advance.
There are at least ten guides on xda. One of them is written by me. Search xda properly. Check the android themes forum.
In fact if I remember correctly Kevin even gave u the link to one of the best guides.

here's the link again ;D
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916814
lol link from xda app fail so you beat me to it
also if you want to do some hardcore theming, if you're in windows, download apk manager, learn how to decompile and compile apks using it. also learn how to edit .9 pngs
any easier guide?
I dont need too advance guide and full of words...
i just want to change the signal. wifi and battery in framework..
so is there easier guide?
1. make your custom icons. (size 25x25)
2. open framework-res.apk in any zip manager (winrar, winzip, watever)
3. open the /res/drawable-mdpi folder
4. replace whichever icons you want to replace, making sure you name them correctly.
5. save
6. use adb to push file to phone from recovery.
7. reboot.
I'll try tomorrow. Thanks

i agree, all the themes here right now are pretty much just different colors, nothing this in depth
this one is nice!!!! why Vibrant is so boring?
Just flash to one of the 2.2.1 JS ROMS such as Loki, Teleforce, Sweet Honey 2.5, Juwe's, Atriarc (my personal fav).
Then download the theme from the i9000 forum, open the zip, remove the services.jar, resign the zip and flash thru CWM and viola.

I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am but I don't think you can just open the zip and remove the services.jar? I believe you need to download 7zip or a similar program and do it from there.
If someone can tell me how to attach the zip after I remove the services.jar I will upload it for anyone that wants it. When posting here on XDA zip files can be no bigger than 8.0mb, this zip is 42.6mb. Probably a little smaller once services.jar is removed.

Yes sorry, you would need to use 7zip to open the archive and remove the services.jar file. Then use AutoSign to resign the zip

I removed the services.jar but I am not at all familiar with Autosign. I did just download it to check it out but I have no clue of what to do next? I read a little on it and it's way over my head. I was able to take another theme I liked and get running fine on my phone but when it comes to getting these themes back up here on XDA for others I'm not sure how to do it.

run autosign.bat.
Then:
select option 1, type yes, hit enter (if FC thats ok)
select option 2, type yes, hit enter
select option 3, type yest, hit enter
select option 4, type in path of zip file that needs to be signed, hit enter.
When done, then the zip is now signed and can be installed thru CWM
As far as posting theme on here, you need to upload the theme to website like www.multiupload.com. Then once its uploaded paste the link on here
I meant to have it ported to vibrant 2.2 roms like Bionix 1.3.1 or others.
a few days only

Hi I want to learn all about making themes for Android roms please point me in the right direction to find easy learning guides using windows 7 to theme on jellybean and ICS and gingerbread thanks
do you want to make cm7/cm9/10- themes or flashable themes? if yes, you have to dwcompile the apks and mod them how you want... i dont know more at the moment, im also searching a good tutorial (at the end i will probably find it out by trying^^).
If you wanna make flashable zips for gingerbread roms use uot kitchen,.its easy and makes fun, legends say it can also make cm7 themes but i couldnt create one till now... for uot you only have to extract two files out of your rom, systemui out of /system/app and frameworkres out of /system/framework
maybe start over with that

Hi thanks I want to make flashable themes for gingerbread what it uot kitchen and where can I learn how to use it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
that is the official thread with tutorial, its easy just type uot in google, you will find the site, click on "kitchen" and choose and customize your mods, then go to "upload files" (can do this first to save time) and choose "upload system apps", then upload em and click on "summary", if all mods are green click on "cook" and wait, you will get a code (you only need it if somethings not workin).
then you can download it after ~20-30 minutes from "pickup", you can also do that from your phone , then flash via cwm and enjoy

I've tried changing from apk to zip and look around but got a little stuck...
I know this is more of a "Theme" section post but it is also a question if the mods want they can move/delete this thread from this section

Yes just change the stuff, what is their to ask? everything is self explanatory ain't it?
. Xml files are the layout configuration , icons and all other image files in the png format, just be careful about the resolution, fonts possibly in the assets folder and finally after rezipping you have to resign the apk.
Edit :I am currently not using cm but I can fish up CM9 apks. Anyway state your main problem, I won't be available for 7 days after some hours and even now is feeling sleepy, will help if I can.
