Other than best buy, futureshop and Staples, are there any other pre order sites?
I have a champagne transformer pre ordered from staples, as they were the only local retailer that had that color code for pre-order, however I noticed that they have pulled that sku from their website entirely. Not sure what that means but when I called Staples to find out they said that it was a possibility that only a certain number of that color code were available.
I did ask about estimated shipping and the rep had told me it is still slated of the week of Dec 12. So hopefully everything goes through without a hitch.
Has anyone else had this issue at all?
The only two other two places I know you can preorder is ncix.com and memoryexpress.com. Both of those places have the champagne version as well which is why I ordered mine from memory express.
I am just hoping mine gets in before the 21st because I ordered mine in calgary and won't be flying there until the 21st (figured I would save some taxes and not ruin my finals studying with a new toy!).
My last email from Best Buy Canada said the release date was Dec 5, but other than that, no word. I wonder if we are really getting it early here in Canada vs. the US.
Is it just me or are there NO 64gb pre-orders anywhere in Canada? Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples, ect. No one has a 64gb up for pre-order! I'd rather pick it up than get it shipped, btw.

Memory express and NCIX have 64gig versions. Although the fact those other big guys don't have it doesn't leave me with confidence that those two will actually be getting them at the same time as the 32gig versions. I am even a bit scared my champagne unit will be late as well since its just those 2 that have it.
Memory Express had 64GB TFs available for preorder in both grey and gold, last time I checked.

Would have like to have ordered from Futureshop but they don't deliver in Quebec because of language laws so I ordered from NCIX. I ordered the original TF from them and got it the second week it came out. Another bonus is I only pay GST and shipping is fairly reasonable. I also ordered from Amazon.ca but I have a feeling I wont get it this month. I'll be canceling the other order once the first one comes in.

I asked for confirmation that that would mean NO 64GB and NO gold colour whatsoever and the sales associate said that is what the e-mail said. I asked about any release date info and they said the tablet would arrive in "the next couple weeks" but the dock would be "3-4 weeks away." Take that with a grain of salt though as I don't believe the release date info came directly from ASUS.

dang. I emailed them to ask about it and they emailed back saying they have some info and if I could call them which I figure is bad news. I had an order for champagne gold and mentioned in this thread how I was worried it wouldn't be coming. I gave them my number so we will see if they call me and what they say.

Well memory express called and said that the only unit they will be getting in is the 32gig grey and the dock. Said that asus said they guess that the champagne gold version will be released sometime in February. Pretty disappointed as I was really starting to like the look of the gold! Ah well as long as they actually get them in around christmas!
Appreciated that they took the time to call me about the order though, the guy at memory express was nice and explained how pissed they were at asus.
I just did NCIX in Vancouver.. no date.. but better then Amazon.ca dating it AFTER jan 31st...

My future shop order has changed from release date on the 5th of December to the 22nd of December today. Was anyone else able to choose any other shipping method other than regular old ground? doesn't look too promising to get it before christmas.

Full price personally. I'm assuming Amazon isn't getting as many as they initially thought which is why they are canceling many orders. Possibly why they aren't listed on Asus' preorder page as well as why they stopped taking orders before everyone else.

I initially had the 64 GB Grey version preordered, earlier. UGH, why did I cancel it.
BTW, mine was the $499 version. My brother preordered it too, at like 7:30 AM EST on the 22nd. Waiting for him to respond whether his was cancelled too.

Everyones orders whose has been canceled are removed from their history. You can reference your original email or the one they sent stating it was canceled. Again I suspsect they aren't receiving a whole lot of initial shipment and probably decided it best to let people re-order on a first come first serve basis once they do. Hence why they stopped taking orders and their product pages aren't even visible without originally having the url.
Ouch! Guess supply will be short this season...
I have an order for the 64 GB Prime (Gray) at Amazon and have not received the cancellation notification yet.
However, just to be on the safe side, I also pre-ordered from J&R.
Well, just about 5 minutes ago, J&R called me and told me that the 64 GB (Gray) will not be shipped out until January 2012 due to Asus suspending the shipment.
How is it that I keep reading on here that Gamestop would have it available on December 19 ? Why is it that Asus suspend the Prime on some store and not on others? Strange.

None of the "official" ASUS preorder sites took orders on the 64GB version... I'm wondering if I just shouldn't expect this until mid-January. No date in December for a 64GB version seem to be panning out...

Given that Gamestop is listed as an official preorder destination on Asus' website, and J&R is not, I don't find this all that surprising. There is almost certainly an extra middleman distributor supplying stores like J&R, Adorama, and some of the other sites folks have found to order one, but Asus' commitment is to their official preorder outlets, and making sure they have enough stock to fulfill their preorders.
I haven't received a call from J&R yet, but I figure I will. When did you order yours Earthbrain?
This seems to be the trend. Newegg still seems to be on track, as is gamestop. ASUS is funneling the supply into a more focused retail base, and seems to staying true to their main channel partners.
Certainly no doubt at this point that there is a huge shortage of this thing...what concerns me is that there was such a huge initial preorder allocation, and it isn't that they are running out of preorder slots, it's that the stock just isn't appearing in the supply chain...which in the industry usually means a manufacturing issue.
That is of course unless ASUS just grossly underestimated the demand.

Crap. I ordered mine on Sunday, and I got the 32GB flavor which you would think would be in even shorter supply. I guess I'll call them today.
So weird that it seems like my Gamestop preorder is going to be the one that holds up at this point.
I placed my order a while ago and got the "backordered" email, but that was explained to me that they must send it if the unit isn't available or a special pre-order. I was told it's still on target for the 15th as they hadn't received new info.

I'm not sure this forum and those placing pre-orders is a good indicator for demand. The technophiles here may only represent a tiny percentage of the population. I think we'll find out when they hit Amazon or Newegg if they remain in stock.

I'm skeptical of the huge demand as well. I live in a small twin city situation with about 200,000 people within 2 towns 20 miles apart. Between the two Gamestops in my area that sell tablets (there are 3 or 4 GS's per town) there have only been two preorders. Total. Me and one other guy. I will be interested to see the initial sales numbers on this device. I think overall, to the general public, Android tablets have a bad(cheap) name. At the GS in the town neighboring mine the manager said they are about to quit carrying tablets all together due to low demand.
Don't get me wrong though. I think this tablet should be creating some demand and likely will once more normal people see it. I have just not been convinced of it's huge preorder demand as of yet.

They don't really seem to know and in fact got their colors wrong on initial pre-orders. Anyway, they claim they are a big retailer and that's true so they expect first availability. I think it is encouraging that they were told a date by Asus for their in stock date.

When my order got canceled on amazon, same day as everyone and I ordered on the 22nd also, I came and order at JR that evening using google checkout. They still haven't called me saying they've canceled. Any chance I'm going to get a 32gb champagne gold? Should I call them and check the date? I don't have much faith in this order.
Yesterday, I put in a preorder at a gamestop location. They say that they are one of the location receiving the prime and I was the first one to preorder at that location. They said that they didn't have any in stock yesterday but expecting to arrive before 19th. I think they only have the 32gb grey. I'll settle for that if I have to. Would like to get what I wanted from JR to avoid tax also, but not getting a good feeling. I've got so many stuff canceled on me this holiday I'm getting pissed.

yes, they are in fact a big retailer, so i have some faith in them... i have never ordered anything from j&r before, but i hope they don't drop the ball and get a decent initial shipment...

absolutely... as a matter of fact, no one knows about the TP outside the usual geek crowds... i mean, there are no advertisements for the damn thing, so what do you expect, right? haha... contrary to that fact, there are all these shortages and some whack shipment schedules... some sketchy sh!t, that's for sure...

I originally pre-ordered on Sunday the 4th, but it sounds like they won't get any stock until the new year, no matter when you got your order in.
I had two separate preorders for tablet & dock, and cancelled them both.

I just got off the phone with J&R, and she told me they expect a shipment around December 15th. I ordered a 32GB Grey on Friday the 2nd.
I wonder if the person I spoke with is misinformed? Or perhaps my order will be fulfilled by an earlier shipment than yours would have been? Now I'm a little worried, haha...
Contemplating driving down to GameStop...

If it's important to you, I would hedge my bets and get in the car. The guy I spoke with made it sound as if the Primes in general wouldn't show up until the new year, not that my Prime wouldn't show up until then.
Can't hurt to hang on to your preorder, but I don't think you should count on it at this point.

I ordered on the 22nd, but no email for me. Chatted with Amazon and they say it still shows a Jan 10th delivery for me. Maybe because I changed the delivery to next day air, but I would think that they would still keep my order placement rather than put to the back of the line.

When I talked to an Amazon rep. yesterday, I was first told my 64gb grey would ship in Jan. Then I brought up that i was concerned about some people saying it would ship next week and I would be out of town. The rep. then suggested I keep a close eye on my email for a shipping status in the next week. So i asked if that meant it would ship next week and the rep. said they didn't want to say for sure and give false hope. not sure why they have been keeping so quiet about this but it sounds like they've known for a while.
I am a amazon prime member and my membership expires 23th December. Maybe that's one of the reasons amazon is shipping to me the prime on time

try at www.cyberport.de , they listed it as 2-4 days, luckily i got mine delivered yesterday from them and njying it
they only have 64GB models available

I can't confirm that - I've ordered a lot of stuff at Cyberport, and I'm really satisfied with their customer support.
Does anybody know if the 32gb model is available without the dock? I can't find it anywhere, not even on Geizhals.at or Amazon.
Here in Switzerland its early-mid January. 32gb+dock bundle or 64gb for the same prize are the offers. @digitec.ch

Got an email today from notebooksbilliger.de. They shipped my TF Prime, a 64GB gold version, yesterday.
So I will get it by friday (today)!!!
I pre-ordered it 14th November.
I also pre-ordered the same model from amazon (de). But they say it won't be available before 19th January.
But as I will get it today from notebooksbilliger.de I will cancel the order as soon as I hold it my hands.
Still no update on the qwertz keyboard docking. Notebooksbilliger.de has never provided a possibility to pre-order it stand-alone, nor has cyberport.de. The only one who offers it is amazon (de) but they cannot tell when it will be available.
Got an update from amazon.de (32Gb incl. dock, grey, preordered on Nov 17th) about a hour ago.

i just received the message that the TF Prime 32GB (+keyboard,grey) is shipping from Amazon Germany! It seems to be a small total shipment, on the product page there is still no availability shown, but i also read some posts on Facebook that some preorders are being shipped. Seems like the Amazon stock is quite limited... But for me its great news

Amazon Germany page says "Available in 1 to 2 months" for the Prime 64 GB grey. There is no bundle with keyboard for the 64 GB version in Germany (afaik)...
But apparently the status doesnt mean too much considering my first post!
Mine (32GB incl. dock, grey, pre-ordered on Nov 17th) is on its way, too.
Estimated delivery is Jan 4th.

I have preordered the 32GB w/ dock version on 22nd of November and still have no mail of shipment or estimated date, but I saw in the comments of Amazon.de that some guys with preorder from 15-16th have already received theirs... I hope mine ships soon and without hardware defects.

In my experience, if you change something about your order (address or bank account), it seems to "update" your shipping status faster. My shipping status yesterday morning was "unknown". After i changed the shipping address & payment option, it immediately changed to "shipping soon" and is now on its way....
Maybe you should try that ;-)
Cyberport store in Vienna shows it as "in stock". Got mine there last week so I think it's credible. (Sry. can't post links yet, but look for tf201 @ cyberport.at/wien).

Thanks, it also says that bundle 64gb+dock will be in stock on 12.1. as far as my German goes
Got mine today (32 GB grey with dock) from Amazon Germany!
So I see tons of posts discussing preorders of the 32 GB version, but nothing at all on the 64 GB version. Why is this? Is the 64 GB version vaporware like the 32 GB version of the GSM Galaxy Nexus?

Mine (amethyst) has been on pre order since the morning of the 22nd. Still says estimated delivery Tuesday Jan 10th from Amazon with prime shipping. A lot of people have been getting emails saying it wouldn't be shipping until Jan 25th to Feb 8th or so. There was a whole thread about the 64gb version but it hasn't been active in awhile. Anyone else still have a Jan 10th or earlier date from Amazon on one of these?
I don't have the link as it was a tweet last week or so, but I swear to you it said the 64GB versions would be available Q2 2012. I'm not sure if its true or not, but I would not be surprised.
Pretty sure that tweet was referring to the UK version of the tablet... But I could easily be wrong, Asus has been full of surprises during this roll-out.

Ah, perhaps you are right. I noticed it rather quickly as I ordered the 32GB version so I wasn't too concerned. Thanks for the clarification.

Still haven't gotten the email, still says Jan 10th when I check my order status. However there was a thread saying that some German online retailer had the 64GBs in stack and they had actual been received.
I saw an article that said spring 2012, so I switched my efforts to the 32GB.
Thanks for all of the info, guys. I really wanted the 64 GB version, but Q2 would be really annoying. I also have it on preorder at Amazon from a while ago. I'm thinking I'll give it until the January 10 date to see where they stand, and if it keeps getting delayed, I'll begrudgingly switch to the 32 GB model.
Yep, I hear you. I REALLY want a prime as well, however I think patience will pay off in this case. So far I haven't seen any articles that have been backed by any information from Asus about a delay in US shipments of the 64GB version, only the Europe/UK version. Do a quick google (can't post links, since XDA doesn't like me), and note that either all the articles are referring to a delay in Europe, or are referring to the same slashgear article that also talks only about the UK release, specifically to the distributor "Clove".
From my perspective only, I am more than willing to wait for the 64GB version, as I do intend to replace my current netbook with the Prime, and will definitely be using up the extra space (and perhaps future tinkering of integrating Windows 8 with the Prime). But that's just my 2 cents. Keep looking through google news for updates though, as I will be doing the same. I cannot WAIT to get my hands on this machine.
I have a delivery date of January 6th from Amazon. I've been contacting them through chat every few days to see if they have had any updates -- Nothing.
As of this morning, the Amazon CSR told me that they should be receiving their shipment in the next few days - and it looks like my delivery date of January 6th should still be on target...
I figure I'll give it until CES - when I'll be able to see what's to come later in the year. Seeing that, along with all of the negative reviews I'm reading of the Prime in pretty much every forum, may be enough to sway me to finally cancel my order and just wait it out for something more polished.
I just got a shipping notification on my 64gb amethyst grey prime. From tigerdirect.com Hope everyone else gets theirs soon! I'll let you know if its a 64gb that actually arrives.......::fingers crossed::

B&H got some Amethyst Grey 64GB today, not many. Posted in the B&H thread here on xda.

The code on his confirmation A50-101402 is a Tiger Direct part number.
