Here is a keyboard I posted in the EVO 4G forums awhile back. Similar to swype but tons better IMO. I just added the theme to it. The theme came from "Awesome Keyboard" theme from "Dansta34"
Been using it on my Rezound since day one.
Just transfer to your sd card and install like any other apk.

Screenshot is tiny.
This looks to be a themed version of Nuance's Flext9:

While I agree that it's a great keyboard (It's my daily driver), this is a paid app and probably shouldn't be distributed here. I see a reference to tmo in the file name, maybe this was included on some t-mobile phones?
This also happened to be the Amazon Free app of the day some time ago, so if you keep up with that, you may already have it (that's how I got it).
I tried to theme this keyboard about 3 versions ago but it would lose some of the functionality, the voice and swipe would not work. It just updated yesterday also.

Yes it was ported from a T-Mobile phone originally.
I have had it posted here for a long time.

Is speech to text working on the Rezound? Reading the reviews for this on the market and a lot of people said the flex update broke speech to text.

No the speech is not working, sorry I should have put that in the original post
Speech to Text works fine on my UnMod'd Flext9.

I just purchased aTAKEphONE T9 dialer and I think it is so much better than the one from SE.
It has a T9 dialer, detailed call logs, etc. Love it.

Can't find it in the market with my SE X10 mini unbrandet.
I have used aContacts which is also very good. But I found a bug which fails to invoke the call log screen occassionally. Otherwise both these apps are good and way ahead of the default dialler+phonebook combined together.
ATakephone was also not found by me in the market (People says it depends on country you stay - infact none of the buyable apps are shown in my country in India).

Couldn't find it in the Market so downloaded it straight from the site, shsh dot com (not allowed to post URLs as a "newbie" - hack, I joined this site in 2005!)
I used TAKEphONE on my Treo's and loved it, but didn't really have a need for it on my G1. As the dialer of the Mini Pro is crap (am I missing something or are the Contacts really entirely separated from it?), I figured going back to my old friend Shimon and his app would be worth a try.
So far I am very impressed. The only two complaints are that the help pop ups are too long and can't be scrolled, and that the i-bar Favorites images are displayed on top of the Last Call bar. No showstoppers but I've informed the developer of these two.

Recently Google came out with an Voice Actions app that allows you to perform certain commands on your phone with speech.
Heres the Video
Cool Huh? But its only available for android 2.2.
Theres an app in the market called Vlingo, its completely free and you can do the exact same thing as Voice Actions app. I was blown away by the functionality and accuracy of this app. I just had to post it.
Heres a link to the app so you guys can try it out for yourself.

truly sucks for the people who paid 10 bucks for vlingo.... It is a great program though
I was trying this app out the other day actually, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to send texts via Google Voice instead of the phone's SMS.

yeah, i don't understand why this option hasn't been implemented with so many users on gv.
I think it sends text messages through your default messaging application. So if google voice is your default messaging application it should work.

Pretty sure system apps are phone specific, the framework is tailored specifically for the Evo.....you can try it, and it if doesnt work just do a restore

how would we able to tell if it would work on the vibrant just by looking at a picture? it doesnt matter what the app looks like.......its the dialer from the evo, which is a system app unique to the model...thats all we need to know.....its obviously safe to say that the app is most likely not coded to function on devices other than the Evo
I suggest just downloading Dialer One from the Market. It has a similar layout to the Sense dialer, and you can customize it how you want. That's why we have 3rd party devs
you could also try "takephone" dialer....just to give you some options
it has cool skins, and a very cool scrollable favorites bar
The EVO runs HTC Sense so there are too many differences in the frameworks that the dialer in HTC Sense needs for it to work. This has been a question that people have asked since the first release of Sense.
there are some system apps that can work on other devices, but it just depends on how much the manufacture of the device changed the system app to use things that they added to the framework. But this is one that will not work on a non-Sense device.
Hy, i read that the WP7's keyboard is one of the best keyboard for smartphone. Some one can do the porting for android?

Keep in mind that a port will never be possible because they are two completely different operating systems.
The one in the second post is HTC IME, which is a GREAT keyboard. I find it a bit ugly. I did mine (last modification was a few days ago). Here I post an screenshot. Is Gingerbread keyboard (concretely Keyboard from 2.3 by Steve Lin in the Market) modified.

wp7 keyboard have all I desire in keyboard:
Emoticon's key
Great prediction
Great precision
I never find all three in the keyboards of android
htc have the emoticon's key and precision, and swype have a great prediction but it isn't free multiling have a good prediction, but not at the level of swype.
Last question: i read very good opinion about the samsung's keyboard, there some apk for test it?
You should try out Thumb keyboard, is also has a WP7 skin and all of your desires (at least that's my opinion) and a LOT of options
You can find it here on XDA
There is also a beta for the next release, with text predicion after you type 1 letter, works really well, but is still a beta (and thus free to try for a limited time!)

Just installed this and it works great!
I just tried the HTC IME it was no good to me it felt weird because it didn't have multi-touch. Does anybody have one that supports multitouch
Just found out about IIDA Home Launcher after looking through the screenshots thread. Made a CWM zip to try it out, it's attached.
Original Thread
The original download was the entire system/app dump of the Xperia(i think). I cut it down to only the IIDA apks, nothing get over written so you can delete the files after installing if you decide to ditch it.
My first impressions, it's really cool. It's like WP7 Metro but the app drawer is just a downward scroll instead of an icon.
But we'll have to work on it a bit to make it work on the Atrix. Also we'll have to figure out how to add locations to the lists, right now it seems to be only Japanese cities. And the email tab doesn't work. Also, we'll probably want to silence the beep on touch, but that's probably as easy as replacing a sound file with silence.
Here's a few screens:

I used this launcher for a couple days just before CM7 was updated. It was fun finding pictures and "flare" but it was also kind of buggy. At one point the calendar just disappeared and when I reflashed I forgot how frustrating moving all of my apps from the bottom to their respective sections was. Moments later CM7 came out and I left it in the dust. But I'm back on Darkside now since I need Webtop. I'll definitely give it another go.

This is awesome, i cant wait.
the weather app(the one with japanese cities only) is a different game, it pulls the information from a 2 different websites one for area and one for prefecture, we do not use prefectures in America so im kinda scratching my head to see how we are going to make this app work , the twitcheck app does not deodex properly according to another member who tried and i can't seem to find the facebook check or the music tile for the launcher, the Launcher itself is more than stable and it can be used on a daily basis.
check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313247&page=10 there is a conversation between me and another member who is working on the same launcher too.
