That's all well and good, but it's Verizon NOT HTC that needs to unlock the bootloader.

HTCloggers patch due, S-off may not get it?

With the impending HTCloggers OTA security patch due, http://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...ecurity-flaw/2011/10/05/gIQABEjQNL_story.html this is my opinion...
Anyone with S-off and a cleanish ROM install may not be able to apply it.
Best bet is to utilise a cooked ROM where the dev has removed the HTCloggers.apk and associated files or return to S-on and a shipped ROM.
Any comments?
It will be provided here in the forum, or one can always try these methods http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18132418 .
Most responsible cooks have removed that stuff from their Custom ROM already anyway, will also happen for the Flyer.
But note that sofar only these models have been identified to even carry the logging: HTC EVO 4G, HTC EVO 3D, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC EVO Shift 4G HTC MyTouch 4G Slide HTC Vigor and some HTC Sensation.

I used this for a WiFi Flyer on HC and 3G UK Flyer on GB and looks to have worked for both. I did notice app stats still in the UI but was told it did not matter since there is nothing being logged and the ports are closed.
Bump for people too lazy to search!
The offending apk is on the flyer as well I removed to be safe. It's called HTClogger.apk

Google now

Hey just got my Telus HTC one x + and noticed that when on Google now and say weather usually it talks back but not on my one x+.
Does anyone have the same problem or HTC decided to change

It's working fine for me. Check your volume and Google Now settings. Also, HTC has nothing to do with Google Now, Google develops the app entirely.

It works for me. No problem at all.

Problem with Viper rom

So I clearly have the HTC One X+ and when i have this rom ( flashed, when i check the phone identity it says that it is an HTC One XL. I'm pretty sure this is also making it so i cannot download some apps and games. For example i cant download Ruzzle on my current phone, but i can on my sh***y Atrix 4G anyone know what the problem is?
i have att with venom, my id is one xl, and I can download ruzzle.

Just a heads up on any other problems...post them in the Rom's thread. You will most likely get more help.

If you have a spare £150ish, you could just buy a SETool box & card with LGTool activation.

Tempting, that's a lot of money tho.
There isn't much need for s-off, id only use it to change the splash screen and flash kernels in recovery
Although, if it was that easy then someone should start an s-off service I'd pay $50 to s-off my phone

Sony unlockers can use SETool over a network using teamviewer to unlock the bootloader, on Sony devices. but we tried to S-Off a One X and a sensation XL, The HOX was connected to the PC with the SETool box and that worked fine, but my SXL which was connected via a network got all sorts of errors while trying to execute the exploit. Seems you cant S-off HTC devices over networks with SETool.

Hadn't seen it until you posted it. Its interesting, i don't support the service but it really shows that we can achieve S-OFF, which is awesome.

They probably achieved s-off via jtag.. so it will be a while before devs achieve s-off. Not saying they can't do it.

wow interesting!
What exactly is jtag? I'm not a noob but I'm definitely not a dev... I also noticed the bootloader still said locked so I'm assuming they didn't have to use HTC dev first like my EVO LTE(just left sprint for T-Mobile). I'd like to keep from having to register my phone with HTC dev in case of warranty issues

Jtag is a service that can flash motherboards, they can unbrick them, root them, s-off, ect. Its only because they have the files from HTC them selves to do it. I have talked to them before in my HTC inspire 4g days.... Ide love to have an evo, 2nd best phone on the market

Ahh I see, makes sense... Too bad they won't release that to the public... I'll be selling my EVO LTE and nexus s 4g as soon as I clear my sprint account... I would have kept it if sprints data wasn't so horrible...
