Hello everyone, I just got my SGP 5.0
I would say I like it but not that bad device! so so but for the money it is great device! anyway this thread is not about my opinion, I was surfing Play Store and I just noticed some apps that says "This app is incompatible with your Samsung YP-G70" !!!!!
The most important app is "What'sApp" I know that this app doesn't support tablets but I've heard that I can install it on my SGP 5.0
so please tell me how do I do this
Any replies are welcome and appreciated
Thanks
Additional: My YP-G70 is not rooted! Should I root it to use your methods espicially the one that says change the device id to galaxy s ??
Follow the steps on the following site: http://codeimba.com/2012/03/09/real-apk-leecher-the-easiest-way-to-download-android-apk-file/
Once you get the APK file, transfer it to the Player and install it. Just make sure you have enabled "Install from unknown sources" on Settings.
I hope it helps.
Note: you CANNOT download paid apps, only free ones with this application.
Sent from my YP-G70
Well, did you use this method and works fine! if I get a device ID it won't say "This app is incompatible with your Samsung YP-G70" ???
This is crap. Nothing works with me!
Don't despair. I'll look for more options and I'll let you know.
Btw, this method works for me, maybe I'll send you the APK tonight.

Please just go into your build.prop and change the device ID to a Samsung Galaxy S.
That's literally all you need to do to make it compatible with a LOT more apps. Search for the forums for how to do so (because I don't remember the link).

Hello
I really need some support from the smart people over here.
I've a galaxy s3 9300 with omega rom on it.
Here's the problem.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mJlLmJlbGdhY29tLm1vYmlsZS50dmV2ZXJ5d2hlcmUiXQ..
The app is called tv overal. I really like the app and I use it a lot. But now with the latest update the have implanted a sort of root detection. And now i can't see live tv anymore. . I've read about a topic here on xda with google videos. They made a special apk for it. Can someone please do something like that for this app? I really like to use it , but i want to keep root.
Thanks already

There is an app that allows you to deactivate root for a certain time if I remember well, whereas can't remember the name of it at the moment.

Can someone confirm this adapted version still works with a rooted phone ? I need at least to be able to record programs in the TV guide, as I use this a lot. This is the only thing preventing me from rooting my phone (SGS 4)

Hello
I'm still using the app now. It works on my galaxy s4 but you can't load the tv guide. Watching tv works. You can record a program if you are watching the program and you push record now.

Hello
I've tested it out on different versions. It's always the same problem. You can see tv but you can't go to the tv guide. It's loading and than it says application has stoped. What i do now is using an older version. Version 2.6.1. With this version you can see the tv guide and record programs on your decoder.
With the newest version the xprivacy is not working. You still have the rooting message. I think you have something in the tv guide when you open it , that it also checks root. I really hope that someone can find a good solution for this problem.

PS: if someone can mirror this to something faster please do so..

Xposed Installer with module Rootcloak works also. First you have to add the TV overal application in the rootcloak list.
Tsested on SGS4 with Omega Rom.
I'v decided to make this thread one to rule them all, instead of posting every firmware in separate thread. Others, please stick into this one, don't make mess on forums.

Thank you for taking the effort to build a thread like this. I have one input to offer, feel free to heed it or discard it, it's not a big deal for me. The date that you have entered on which you created the thread, I believe it's better to do MM/DD/YY since this is the US version of the phone and people might confuse the order to MM/DD instead of DD/MM.

After a dozen phone calls a techie recommended I put up a post here. He said I would probably have to use cyanogen mod. If I have to root my phone I will, I'm trying to find a person and a price. I don't know the answers to your question, but you may get better feedback if you posted under a new thread under the the Help section. You posted in a thread for Stock Mods but are asking about Cyanogen Roms.
You may want to add which ROM you are currently running, etc.
Also helpful would be to let people know which video and music programs you've tried, there may be good suggestions for light-weight video and audio apps. For videos, I've had good luck with MX Player and VLC. I rarely play music, the videos I watch usually have their own sound track.

Who made it? We really need more information mate, like your device name. And if this rom has a thread, post the issue there instead. Also, if you want help on such things, always provide as much information as possible, especially if you want people to help you from their free time (logs would be quite useful as well)

It's not that simple. You'll need to learn a lot about coding in order to be anywhere close to doing it. It's not copy pasting stuff here and there or installing from a backup.

Since you're a noob, I can't think of anything easier than this for you
Go through the ports which are already available (like Mi A2) (must be xiaomi)
See what files the dev used to get the camera working on non-miui roms
To give you rough idea there will be xiaomi framework , some xmls, libs etc.
Try replicating those exact files from your stock firmware and create a flashable zip or directly paste em into root
Also try contacting the dev of that camera and see if he agrees to help you out !
Ask him if you face any trouble throughout.
Ignore people who are discouraging,
Today a noob, tomorrow a pro
Thanks a lot. I trialed and error-ed and came to same method you mentioned below.
