Yes, that is the download mode/recovery mode screen attached (1st pic). the box to the left of the download mode is supposed to be a picture of a box w/ an android guy and an arrow.
If i select the "usb symbol" to the left of download mode, it does nothing. I have to hold down power for about 10 seconds and it restarts normally.
Tried flashing odin multiple times using CWM 4.0.0.4 from two different posts.
??????? what now???
I had this problem. Unfortunately the I/O version of the tab doesn't let you boot to recovery from the menu you showed. Instead of an icon to boot recovery, we get the USB-looking icon on the left, which goes to fastboot mode.
To get to recovery, install the USB driver and get fastboot.exe. You also need to download an img file (as opposed to tar.md5 which is formatted for ODIN) of a CWM recovery. Then put the tab in fastboot mode, plug it in, and run:
fastboot boot recovery.img
This will temporarily download the file recovery.img to the tab and boot it, without permanently flashing over the existing recovery.
Good luck!

any instructions on usiing all the files in the zip file might help too !!!!
Not hard to search (for instructions or the file).
Download it.
Open ODIN
load the recovery (PDA from memory)
put tab in download mode
connect to pc
click start on odin.
30 seconds later your phone reboots with the stock recovery
I have tried this and still stuck on 'samsung galaxy tab' screen.
all i need to do is wipe the GT, and install stock 3.1 rom on it and start again but cant find a instruction that will tell me ??

^ please explain in detail what you have done... the files used and the steps taken.
Did you verify the md5 of the file you flashed in ODIN (if the md5 was known)?
All i have is the filesfordummies.zip file unzipped.
i need guidance from there on.
Cheers
^ are you using the stockretail tar file from that and odin? When you load the recovery, put the tab in download, connect to pc..... does odin have a yellow com# shown, if not, wait a bit... could be installing the drivers.... if it is showing and you have the stock recovery loaded.... press start, wait maybe 30 seconds and your tab should be rebooting.
what is not happening for you in that sequence?
After that my tab is stuck on 'samsung galaxy tab' loading screen and has been for around 2 hours.
paul
Hold down volume and power... release power when the tab splash screen comes up (still hold volume down).
what recovery shows up? I assume you had CWR before.... is it that, or stock?
what tab model do you have
I attempted to root my verizon sgh-i905. It partially succeeded however I don't have wifi. So, I tried to go into recovery to reapply the files. The two icons came up but when I tried to go into recovery, a blank page appeared and that was it. It is partially rooted because I also tried it with rom manager with the same results. Anyone got any ideas on how to overcome this problem? Actually, now after trying to update it with rom manager it won't boot up at all. The usb debugging has been unchecked as per instructions after odin. It will still go into downloading mode but odin doesn't see it because usb is unchecked. The only thing that comes up now is Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 then screen goes blank.
Even though I couldn't get into usb debugging, I did get odin to reapply the tar so it would boot up. Rom manager still won't flash recovery and in download/ recovery the tab won't enter recovery. Is there a way to restore recovery?
Hi guys
I just installed the GlamourS4 ROM and it worked great. I restarted it a few times and nothing seemed to be wrong. Now I tried to boot into recovery through the power menu, but that didn't work and I'm stuck in a loop with mz S3 trying to boot into recovery but failing to do so.
I already tries to take out the battery and put it back in, but it still tries to boot into faulty recovery. By the way I'm using PhilZ Touch recovery and I can enter download mode.
You can still flash an Odin Version of a recovery with Odin Form your PC. Look for a clockworkmod tar file in the development theead, you should also find flashing instructions there.
I will try and see if it works. Thanks.
So, i installed A LOT of custom roms on my gs3, and the last one screwed it up, so i got android 5.1.1 on my gs3 and when it tried to boot up (after optimizing apps stuff...) it just stopped at "Finishing Boot" and it stayed like that for couple of hours, then since i don't have a power button to enter download mode i made my own homemade usb jig and got my gs3 in download mode and i got it back to stock, then it stopped at samsung logo and it was just booting like that whole night. Then i tried diffrent versions of stock roms, kernels, even new pit file, still nothing. So i've read on couple of forums that i need to enter recovery mode and wipe data & cache(but odin does that automatically right ?) and i can't enter recovery mode cause i have a broken power button(and no i can't connect wires cause when i got rid of the power button i accidentally pulled out one of the connectors). So how can i enter recovery without a power button if i can't boot up the phone ? Or is there any other fix ? Or it's dead ?
P.S I can't take it to service no warranty + binary count is 14 and i can't reset it without my phone booted up.
No power, no phone. It's that simple. Fix the power button and then you can boot it up. No other way possible.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
you could try thru usb then adb command: fastboot reboot recovery (if i remember correctly)
edit: just read you can't even turn it on

go to this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/adb-fb-apx-driver-universal-naked-t1379875
download the driver, install once while gs3 booted, then in download mode install the driver again - while phone is connected
i haven't been able to get a "fastboot devices" respond while in download mode, maybe i'm not doing it right
the driver supposed to support galaxy s3 international with adb and fastboot

installing the drivers only need any gs3 but since it's stuck on logo only, you can't do anything.
i thought you said you have a home-made jig to boot into download mode
Odin don't wipe data and cache automatically. I had bootloop problem after flashing stock too you have to get to recovery anyway you can and format cache and data from there. As I know you can flash files through odin with your home-made USB jig. So there are some recovery zips that will boot into recovery directly after flashing them. You can either find one of them or you can ask someone to edit one of the recovery zips for you. The final way I can think about is adb. You can go to download mode with your USB and then you can use adb. Give adb this command. Adb reboot recovery and it will reboot to recovery. If I helped you in any case press the ? tnx button.
What is working so far

Phone boots but its stuck on 2nd boot animation.
My galaxy s6 edge (T-Mobile - SM-G925T) has been bricked. I flashed the stock android M 6.0.1 firmware through Odin and now my phone does not boot past the second boot animation.
The phone also has a blue led indicator on at all times during this brick.
I tried going to stock recovery and factory resetting the phone with no luck and its still stuck on 2nd boot animation.
I have tried to restore the phone with smart switch but it asks for my serial number which I do not have.
The serial number is not on the back of the phone and I doint have the box.
I put the phone in to download mode and hit the home button to show the "bar code" option but it does not display the serial number at all and its just blank.
I put the phone into download mode tried to flash stock firmware and twrp but it just stays on setup connection in odin by powering off the phone, holding vol down, home power, and vol up again to enter download mode.
But before what I did was I typed the adb commands on my computer to reboot the phone into download mode so I could flash files to the phone through odin but I caint send adb commands to the phone due to this brick.
I did try adb side load in the stock recovery and I tried to side load the stock rom as a flashable zip but it does not want to sideload.
Please help me to solve this problem, thank you very much, I will appreciate all the help.

Try again to flash this
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/89343/G925TUVS4EPH2_G925TTMB4EPH2_TMB/
If it sticks on setup connection again, try a different usb port.
If after this it still bootloops try again to flash twrp and if this works wipe cache/dalvik.
If it doesn't work and just bootloops tell me of any errors you get during the process.
Thank you for the help! I hit the thanks button. I found out why Odin was stuck on setup connection and that was because I was using a bad USB cable, so I tried another cable. After that odin was not stuck on setup connection. Then I flashed stock firmware on Odin and now the phone works!. Thank you for the help!
