Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else...
Fortunately, Asus makes a micro-HDMI-to-VGA adapter cable for the TP:
http://www.asus.com/Peripherals_Accessories/Eee_Pad_Accessories/Micro_HDMI_to_VGA_cable/
So, is this *included* with the TP? I would hope so, but...
If it *isn't* included (!), where can it be purchased? I have seen no listings at all (yet) online anywhere.
As of right now they basically have no accessories for it out and no it is not included but I belive it is the same one as the Tf101 adapter...? Or the slider... Just search for eee pad hdmi-vga adapter

The only thing I have read so far is to be careful about purchasing the *wrong* adapter i.e. apparently the TF101 uses a 'mini-HDMI' port, whereas the TF201 uses a 'micro-HDMI' port.
Unfortunately, I seldom see companies supplying adaptors in the box with the device - they make more money selling it separately plus, this is a very uncommon cable. Vga is used much less often than hdmi...if ANYTHING maybe just a micro hdmi cable.

I don't know if either will actually work with the Transformer as the word 'standard' is used in the description, just thought I'd post the info for others. No .... it's not me that's selling the bits.

Just looks like a standard 5V 1000mA charger like all the other USB chargers available on eBay and not a 15V USB 3.0 compatible one that is required.
That's what I was wondering too. I've sent a message to the seller and have also included the url to this thread, hopefully we'll get a reply.

I bought a cable by Plugable Tech and it works great!

I agree with the above post. I am getting this one as we speak. Hopefully a little band aid for the wifi issues until they come out with a wifi dongle of sorts
anything as small and lightweight like the Belkin that doesn't cost $25?

Can anyone recommend a replacement charging port. I hate the Asus design with the removable part. My cable is fine but charger is broken. Would like to replace with one that isn't prone to being useless.

Good luck finding one brotha...mine broke with the pins all bent. I ended up just selling my prime as is and picked up a TF300t. Charging port design is much durable and sturdier.
I think you mean the AC adapter. Will be hard as it is 15 volts or so on the "USB"
This is a bad design in my eyes as you can break other devices by plugging into the "port".
As fitsbain said, good luck, it's 15v output through the USB port.
Just FYI, the charger is the same as the TF101, so they're not going to change it.
Just FYI...
I had thought my charger was broken, but my son figured out that the adaptor had just come loose.
However, while thinking it was broken, I did search, and found that Office Depot (Los Angeles) had them in stock. I was able to order it online for in-store pickup.
Fortunately, I figured out it wasn't actually broken, so I didn't need to buy the replacement, but if anyone is desperate for a replacement charger, you can check Office Depot.
I just bought an ac to dc converter 12v x 1.5a with the usb adapter from Radioshack. Working great. Ordered a power only plug from Amazon that said it's compatible with TF201 for 8 dollars. Will let you know when it comes in. The Radioshack setup is around 32 dollars.

From what I have read, this is not necessarily true. Apparently one of the pins recognises USB 3 connection and only then outputs the higher voltage. I have not tested this though, and if I am wrong then please correct me.

The charger itself is supposed to recognize whether or not the device can handle a certain voltage range. There's a few threads on the 101 forum regarding McGuyver power units and they found that the charging plug only works on Neg and Positive. The charger is supposed to read resistance and charge accordingly. AFAIK, the range set of the charger is 5v x 2a - 15v x 1.2a. I hooked my Rezound to it to charge once when I first had the 101, and nothing burned up. The adapter was junk though and died after 3 months, then the tab followed a week later. Charger was stuck in 5v mode, which will not charge the tab or the dock. Will drip charge with tab only, but takes forever.

@Nefariouss
There are chances your USB female connector is the problem.
Just check out this link it might help : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlkLwgT5xUk
Thx I'll check this when I get home. I know the cable is still good since the computer can recognize my prime.

Can you explain how you are using that? From the Asus webpage, it looks like it is female vga, but the connection on my monitor is also female. Do you have another adapter in between the cable and the monitor then?
Also, where did you purchase that? I could find it in the Asus product listing but not in their store.

You don't really need to buy from ASUS just look on ebay or amazon for a micro hdmi to vga male

Your normal vga kabel is male and can by connected.
if your using a 2e vga connect on your monitor you need a extra standard vga kabel
I recently saw that Dealextreme is stocking two wall chargers for the Asus Transformer series of tablets
One with the proprietary connector built in
http://dx.com/p/ac-power-adapter-ch...101-tf201-sl101-black-2-round-pin-plug-137392
and one with a 15v USB port
http://dx.com/p/ac-power-adapter-ch...mer-tf101-tf201-black-2-round-pin-plug-126492
has anyone tried them? I think I'll order the one with the proprietary connector, and so if it fails, I'll still have the connector to tinker. Also, if it works, I'll get to keep the cable at home, protected, instead of in my messenger bag.
I have tried the one with the 15v USB port - and it works just fine.
The best value for money (as always from DX).
i could buy those charger on ebay.. but what is the review about those chargers
I use second and i dont have any problems.:good:
Bought the one with the proprietary connector built in from them - works just fine.
I bought one from ebay here. It works great and you don't have to worry about that stupid asus brick crapping out on you.
Anyway, it's good to have one functioning properly with charger connected.

How to use this in the US? Is the round-pin connector removable?
TIA;
Pat
This one is half the price of the asus, available with amazon prime, and got REALLY good reviews. Just ordered one today, will provide feedback when received.

USA version of the non USB one can also be found for that seller (Flat pin plugs). Search tf101 charger. I'd give you the link but I dont have rights yet.
