To solve the problem "Screen unresponsive" or "Frozen screen" by yourself - 7 Mozart General

To solve the problem "Screen unresponsive" or "Frozen screen" by yourself
Here I have seen many friends have the problem "Screen unresponsive after wakeup". It seems that the screen is frozen. So, Chinese friends call this phenomenon "frozen screen". The reason of "frozen screen" is that the TOUCH driver has some problems. This problem often happens on Mozart and Mondrian. It seems that "HTC Care" cannot solve the problem completely. After using the phone which sent back by "HTC Care" for a period of time, the problem appears again. Cause of cannot find "HTC Care", Chinese friends solve this problems by flash the T-Mobile ROM which can fix the TOUCH driver.
After I flashed the ROM, this problem happens very few only when the phone is connecting to the computer and removing from the computer. It never happens again when the phonecall comes.
Here I introduce 2 methods, may it can help you.
Method 1(SPL edition should be 4.X or below)
1.You should have HSPL on you phone(When flash HSPL, make sure your SPL is not 4.X or 5.X. If your SPL is 4.X,please ungrade your phone software to 7004 edition. If your SPL is 5.X, you should reference other methods using Y-cable or offline CAB to ungrade the SPL edition)
2.Download the T-Mobile RUU "RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.28.111.03_5.52.09.16_22 .33a.50"(Just Google and you can find the download link)
3.Right click on the EXE file and extract the EXE pkg, enter the folder and delete the SPL_signed.nbh(You need the software 7zip or Winrar in your computer)
4.Run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" to flash ROM.(Please see tips below)
5.Flash HSPL again.
6.Flash a customized ROM,just as DFT edition,Deepshining edition,and so on.
Tips:If you would like to use the official ROM,and don't mind the T-Mobile start LOGO,you can skip the "5."and "6.",just upgrade you phone by ZUNE software. You can also use the method introduced in“[Guide] How to debrand/flash your HTC 7 Mozart” to make your phone to T-Mobile edition.
Method 2(You can ignore SPL edition here)
1.You should have a "Y-cable", you can make one by yourself or buy one online.
2.Have a USB flash disk, format it to FAT32
3.Download the T-Mobile RUU "RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.28.111.03_5.52.09.16_22 .33a.50"(Just Google and you can find the download link)
4.Right click on the EXE file and extract the EXE pkg, enter the folder and copy the RUU_signed.nbh to your USB flash disk. Rename the RUU_signed.nbh to MOZAIMG.nbh(Mondrian:MONDIMG.nbh)(You need the software 7zip or Winrar in your computer)
5.Turn off your phone. Hold volume down and camara key and press power key, you can enter USB host mode.
6.Y-cable connect to the computer and USB flash disk and then you phone, flash can start automatically.(When flashing your phone may restart)
7.After finish flashing, your phone software is T-mobile edition now. You can flash a custom rom after flash HSPL. And you can also update your phone by ZUNE.
My English is poor. May to help you and good luck.

great sharing. I think Mwang's touch fix patch is effective too, same functionality as the first method maybe?
I flashed DE 1.28 ROM to improve this touch issue, and it did make it better. frozen screen happens very rarely after that.
Though some people say it's a hardware problem and get brand new ones without this issue, for us who don't have the chance to get after-sale services in China mainland...it seems to be the only option to improve, for now...

Actually, mwang's patch is T-Mobile edition without SPL too. According to the test, the performance of touch driver V69 is perfectly good as touch driver V63 provided by mwang. So, if we have flashed T-Mobile 1.28 edition, it's not necessary to flash mwang's patch.

I c. I was wondering whether to flash that touch fixing patch, so it's not necessary huh~thx for sharing

Link? Can't find mwang's fix mentioned anywhere?

This is how I ended up fixing mine:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20059270&postcount=65

This solution is for those that cannot find HTC service centre. This is only quick fix. If you can find HTC Care in your country, go and ask HTC to change the whole touchscreen.

can you back that statement up with some evidence? as I mentioned this 100% fixed my issue, so i'd love to understand what is wrong with my hardware if this is the case?

Maybe mwang's patch only can be found on DFT Chinese forum. Link:http://www.darkforcesteam.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=55254
Patch download:http://www.filefactory.com/file/cf22364/n/Fixed_Touch.7z

Maybe this is a new&quick way to solve the prolem. If I flash a new rom later, I will have a try. Great thanks.

The download has two folders, 1 and 2, and looks like a ROM update in each, but they are in Chinese. Was able to follow them through, but bombed with the typical 226 error as they aren't signed.
Does this mean I need to HSPL my mozart to use the patch?

Yes.
1.you should have hspl on your phone.
2.flash 1. just click "next" can be OK.
3.hspl again
4.flash 2
now, you can find the touch driver is changed from V69 to V63 now. And your phone rom edition is T-Mobile 1.26

ok, I finally managed to get my gold card setup working again. Can I use these updates with gold card method instead of HSPL and the loader?
And also, if I am just resetting my phone, am I better off just using the full tmobile ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857561
Update: Just loaded that t-mobile ROM on and touch screen problem is fixed. Why on earth tmobile have better/different touch drivers is odd, but i'm not complaining!

ammm... so i make a gold card from psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard, make one, get it to that SD card, get working off ROM, rename that to MOZAIMG.nbh, put that next to goldcard in that SD card. and then just plug everythin together and bootload ?
ps. i have 5.1 bootloader... so im safe to use this method ?
RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.23.401.06_Radio_5.51.09.06 _22.30.50.09U_by_ansar
rom that i took.

Gold card method can completely replace the SPL, that's why it's used to downgrade to earlier SPLs, e.g. to allow installing RSPL/HSPL. So you *should* be safe to do this with a 5.1 SPL.
I don't know about that ROM you linked to, as it's cooked by Ansar. So I don't know what SPL it has, and I don't know if it includes the touch drivers to fix your problem. The one I described above does.

yep, i'm with telstra and running that same ROM. I just ran connection setup after flash to ensure all the telstra settings are there.

well another problem here, but I believe it's not the touch screen it self.
It only occurs sometimes in lock-screen where dragging the lock-screen from bottom to top doesn't work.. it just bounces then dead..
so my remedy is to turn-off the screen by pressing the power button and turn it on again, tap on back button until you feel the vibration, then drag the lock-screen.. if you want to make sure, you can tap the back button multiple times.

HD2 Broken after bad flash?

I have a problem:
I flashed my hd2 from a stocked rom 1.42 dutch version, with hspl 1.42. I installed a custom rom from: HTC HD2 Laurentius WWE 21891UltimatePOWER.
it worked fine for 2 or 3 days and then it stocked, i reseted the phone and
When i turn on my HD2, i get a white screen. and it doest go away. Even after softreset (volume button down in bootloader)
When i go in to bootloader i see this screen:

- I tried different to install a rom and radio rom by vista, but also no succes
- I tried task 29 (by the Attached Task29 into a single exe.) to erease all data from the phone, but in windows by activesync it wont start
i tried al the above from windows 7.
Is there anyone that can help me, please i getting very desperate.
VERY VERY IMPORTANT! Try and read 2-3 times what is written here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Only afterwards proceed to the following :
First of all....try and use Windows Vista or Windows 7.
Second of all....do not try to use task 29 because its a bit more complicated and it involves some drivers and so on!
Use this little thing here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5848003&postcount=19 and after its completed....flash a proper radio something like 2.08.50.xx which you can find on Radio dedicated section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
After all these....flash a custom ROM but be careful to be one suited with your radio! Which is a radio appliable for most of custom ROMS BUT be VERY careful!
Another thing.....do not flash from SD Card....Use the CustomRUU tool and flash it via ActiveSync!
Do you get any particular error message? When in bootloader mode, does "usb" show at the bttom of the screen? If so, try moving to a different usb port, preferably at the rear of the pc, or try different cable or even different pc. If still no luck, try uninstalling and then re-installing the latest version of Activesync.
The White Screen issue sounds like the incorrect radio version for the rom. I'm not familar with the details of the particular rom, but there are certain rom/radio combinations that will do that if they do not match eg running a 2.10 based rom with a x.xx.51.xx radio. The phone works intially until a reset and then hangs.

Thanks for the replay
I tried, flashing by activesync. i flashed it the first time by hspl (the tread you link to) and then by activesync. But like i said, the hd2 stops at a white screen, so i tried by every possible way i could think of. Also i tried task 39 by the tool you mention, but it still does not work.
But i will correct my ts.
@clydeb1
I tryd to flash different radioroms, but if it try by activesync it wont start and by sd-flash it stocks at 98%, but i will try a different active sync
Okay,
I tried the following options:
- I installed a newest activesync and tried to instal an new rom under windows xp. The update stocked at 0% and i tried to install radio rom, with the same results
- I installed the windows mobile on windows 7, and tried the same as in windows xp, and still the same results.
Then i tried flashing every rom from the site by the sd-method (after every bad flash i formatted the sd-card with fat32)
With the sd method the phone stocked at 99% and then gives the next images:
00018003
LEOIMG.nbh - Fail

IS there any one how has a solution for this problem
Ok....try from the beginning!
1.Get from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433 HSPL2_RUN.zip (extract the content in a folder named hspl ).2
2. For Windows 7 you need Windows Mobile Device Center ( WMDC ) NOT ActiveSync!! Get it here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
3. Make sure in WMDC settings the USB connection is checked!
4. Take out your battery....insert it again! Start your phone while keeping pressed the Vol Down button! This will get you into bootloader! The screen should display USB on the lower part of the screen! (evidently connected to computer )
5. Flash HSPL2 select 2.08 version
6. Use that tool I recommended earlier.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=19
7. Enter again the bootloader and flash a Radio ROM ( try 2.08.50.xx ) via WMDC!
8. Flash either NRGZ 21898 or Cleanex 21898 versions ( I recommend these in particular because they work with the radio mentioned above and are also stable ROMs ).
P.S. Take out your SD card and SIM card while performing all these steps!
Hope you will solve it!

Thanks for the advise
I did every step. The first problem is: WMDC doest say there is a connection, while windows 7 say there is a connection also i see usb in the lower part of the screen.
In the same sequence as you right above. the hspl2 says it worked fine, but when i reset the boatlooder still says it has hspl 1.42 in stead of 2.08. The tool you recommended did't start. and says update error.
do you know something else i could do (or anyone else)
Give the phone to someone who can get it to work??
Give me your SD-CARD serial number.
I'ma make a goldcard for you.
sd-card max to 4gb!
And then try flashing stock nld 1.66 rom using sd-card.
Because you tried to fix it flashing a 'original rom?' from sd I think I know what's your problem.
Did you use a Dutch shipped rom while trying to fix or a WWE one?
If you flash a shipped rom from storage card it restores the original SPL and removes HSPL !
Try flashing a Dutch shipped rom one more time from storage card, it will restore the original SPL made for your device.

@Korenbloem,
A simple hardreset would have fixed your issue as well.
Instead of all kind of panic experiments like mtty/ flashing radios/roms from sd you could have come to me and I would have helped you.
You flashed a very old rom from the rom archive but never the less that rom is intensivily tested by me and the beta team.
I have no idea what kind of software you installed/tweaks you did or anything else but also with installing the wrong software it could cause the rom not to boot anymore.
Sorry to tell you but these 'bricking' stories are mostly caused by unexperiened users and it
making me sad to see more people are opening threads like this blaming a rom and causing a panic reaction in public destroying our work.
I realy hope you fix your device and I will try to help you but this isn't a rom issue.

Thanks for the adivse, but i already tried that with an orginal rom, but i will try it again, mabey there is a difference with a shipped rom.
The first thing i did was a hard reset, but that did't worked. (the phone is in this shape for 1 month now).
Second. I am not blaming you or anyone. I flashed the wrong radio rom i think (cant remember witch one) And that is my own fault. I never wanna make the suggestion that it is because of youre rom.
I took a risk by flashing my phone. and i is my responsibility.
Edit: I tried a shipping rom nld. But it gives the same error as always, only after 7%. But thanks for the advise
@ Xmoo, First of al thank you that you want to help with a sollution. But what does that mean a goldcard and what are the consequences of using it.
Laurentius26 helped me with fixing my device.
The problem was the radio. and by flashing a factory rom from t-mobile, the hspl was reset to spl 2.00. After that he flashed a orginal shipped rom (the orignal one from my device). And the rom is fixed again SPL 1.66 is now on the device.
Laurentius thanks for al the help!!!!!
HD2 bricked?
Hi, I urgently need your help. I used my hd2 on a vodafone branded rom 1.44. Last week I installed a Vodafone NLD 1.72 rom , + froyostone 3.4 Rom,kernel 8.5 (with hspl). Yesterday my touchscreen has stopped fully .. . The next, I've been in touch with HTC and they will pick up my phone tomorrow for repair. I have to remove hspl ofcourse .. so I happily try to flash official vodafone rom from the SD card, did nothing 1.72, 1.48 seemed to do until I restart and got an ROM code error. What to do: ( I am pretty desperate now .. when you start you get an exclamation point and then 'not allow' and then the tricolor. Is this due to the lack of the original 1.44 ROM? Apologies for this begging post and my poor English but I hope that someone has a solution to unbrick this device so he can up picked by HTC.

Maybe it is because you flashed the wrong stock rom.
You should find the CORRECT STOCK ROM for your device, otherwise you need a gold card

The 1.66 ROM you posted above has radio version 2.06.51.07 with it. So have you considered trying to flash that radio version and then flash the ROM. I know if you get the ROM to flash it will flash that radio anyway. But you seem to think you flashed a wrong radio so just thinking out loud here.

After bad flash, can't flash new radio (RSA FAIL)

Hello everyone,
i've been reading this forum for one month,
It was the day I decided to upgrade my HTC HD2, and someone disconnected the usb cable during the process.
Don't talk to me about that ;-)
The problem is I can't flash any rom radio into the phone.
OS ROMS work.
I read carefully a lot of posts here, I can say I have exactly the same problems as _Juster_ from this post :
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618084
My phone is a french HTC HD2, Orange branded.
I successfully installed HSPL 2.08
Making upgrades using USB is very difficult, it is very unstable (communication errors, no response from the phone....) .
I tried on windows 7 pro and win xp sp3 and it is the same.
I then created a goldcard, that I'm using to flash directly in the phone. It is stable, but when flashing a radio rom I always get the "ERROR 00018003, RSA FAIL error".
I learned from xda that the issue can be solved by flashing the original stock radio rom from Orange.
I downloaded a lot of shipped roms from Orange, or HTC.
Always RSA_FAIL.
I'm maybe doing something wrong, or this is a hardware problem....
a few questions for you folks :
1/ It seems that the original Orange stock rom is a 1.43
Must I have the 1.42 HSPL to flash it ?
Is the version of your HSPL important, when you want to flash a rom ? can I flash whatever rom with any HSPL ?
2/ using a Glodcard with HSPL already installed.
when you enter on the bootloader (vol down + power) you arrive on the HSPL tri color screen, displaying HSPL 2.08....
Are you sure the Goldcard is being used ?
How to be sure of that ?
I think (I may be wrong) when you enter the bootloader mode You are on HSPL mode.
What I do to enter the goldcard mode :
I just press power,
I have a "Software update failed message"
Then I arrive to the "Loading..." message
With the name of the ROM i'm trying to flash
LEOIMG.nbh
RADIO V2
Press power to start update
Am I right ?
Thanks for reading this and helping me.
is there other Tasks like task 29 you are aware of ?
Task 29 formats the phone ?
is there a way to partition the phone or to diagnose if there's a problem ?
what do we know about that RSA_FAIL ?
I assume the RSA proccessing is to check whether the RSA Key of the radio rom matches the phone's one ?
Is there a software way to bypass that RSA check ?
I've downloaded 22 radio roms (from orange and HTC) + several others (shipped & cooked)
I always get a RSA FAIL message when I try to flash.
any clue ? something ?
Can't really make out if you tried it from your post, but you could try to flash back to stock by using the SD flash method. Just put the leoimg.nbh in the root of the SD and boot while holding the vol down button. That way you go back to stock spl, rom and radio.
Check the sticky in the ROM development section which refers to the whole HSPL and how to flash everything topic. That should fill you in on HSPL.

Check the sticky in the ROM development section which refers to the whole HSPL and how to flash everything topic. That should fill you in on HSPL.

I already flashed 22 radio roms and a dozen of full roms (os + radio) using SD CARD.
As the usb is very unstable I'm using the sd card method to flash, which is also a goldcard.
the problem is I ALWAYS get the RSA FAIL message (error 00018003) at the end of the radio flashing process.
This guy : forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618084
had the same problem but with un unbranded phone and had it solved by flashing a cooked rom he randomly choosed.
To understand the situation,
my phone is an Orange branded one, what is the difference between a branded and an unbranded phone, assuming they both have the same HSPL ?
thx
Just sold my HD2.
Seems like some questions don't have answers....
what was the problem? íf i understand you right, it even worked..but you couldnt flash another radio...
why dont you use it further?
DN41
The phone wasn't able to boot
It was stuck at the white HTC logo,
After the failure of a radio flash, I was not able to flash it again. (RSA FAIL)
I read all the posts about this problem in xda, tried everything, nothing worked.
sorry...
so who bought it? how much did you get?
someone who needed a new lcd or so?
DN41
150€ , it was in a very good condition

You don't just rename the whole update, you extract the ruu_signed.nbh file and rename that.
RSA FAIL
I had the same problem with my polaris (htc touch cruise - pola160). I managed to get rid of the problem by downgrading the radio rom.
I couldn't find my old one, but I was able to find the highest version older than my old one in the forum. So I first downgraded the radio using the sd card, after that the rom I was trying to install in the first place worked.
Thx to pcarvalho for this "fix" : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3645124&postcount=1 - the "Important Note:" section (always read the small print ).
Hope this helpes.
PS: Sorry if this is too late for some...

Put the back of the phone in front of an AC in cold for 5 minutes, and keeping it always in front of the AC try to install.
If you are able to do that, send it back to the warranty.
Hello,
I have the same problem!
long time ago I had HTC devices, but few days ago I bought HD2 and it was installed android. Is unable to start or when they try to load a ROM eror occurs.
phone has only a white scrin.
error occurs mostly when upgrade Radio ver. I somehow managed NRGZ image but again not boot system.
Task 29 also comes to 19% and stops with the error.
I have a feeling that the real problem is the radio version. (00,018,003 Radio Fail)
I do not know what is the original ROM.

HTC Mozart can´t flash a rom with and without Goldcard after Installing a wrong rom

Hello,
I have a big problem with my german HTC Mozart ( T-Mobile version ).
2 weeks ago I flashed a RUU Rom to unbrand my mobile.
With this Software version my mobile is still branded and don´t work correct.
I would write more about the problems whith my mobile and this firmware, but my English is to bad….
After that I can´t flash any other Rom.
I tested to Install many other Roms, but the RUU installer every time says “Wrong Model ID”.
Then I looked my Phone Informations and see:
OS Version: 7.0.7004.0
Firmware revision number:2250.09.12803.111
Hardware revision number: NA
radio software version: 5.52.09.16_22.33a50.10U
radio hardware version: 0.0.0.0
Bootloader Version: 1.28.2250.3(113810)
Chip-SOC: 2.2.5.0
With the Rom, I flashed should be something wrong…
The Information on my Boot Mode Screen ( Rainbow) should be wrong, too
MOZA100 SS-BC (4K)
SPL-1.28.2250.3(113810)
MicroP (LED) 0x07
Touch C1(v69)
SD SANDISK 15193MB Class0
Partition Info-v211v413
In a german forum I found the same problem , but there are no solution.
Also I tested, to flash with a Goldcard.
I read all instructions to create a Goldcard an how to use it in this forum.
I think my created Goldcards are all OK but the USB HOST Screen every time says:
1. Loading
2. Checking…
3. And 3 second Later Serial on the bottom of the Display, but nothing else is happens..
Any Ideas?
so you have this problem for two weeks now?
what rom did you flash?
check the mozart forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=779
and maybe this will help you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12120618&postcount=6
Yes, i have this problen for 2 weeks now.
It was a unbranded T-Mobile 1.28 rom.
Thanks, i have found someone else, with the same Problem, but no Answers.
see here
I have my Goldcards created with Ubuntu and Windows... Ubunto to find the CID and Windows, to create it...
And it seems to work, because the mobile is loading and checking the rom of the goldcard, but 3 seconds after checking... is the serial messeage in the bottom of the display and checking.. on the top, but nothing happens...
I had the same problem with my HTC 7 Trophy, flashing a new ROM did not work, and it changed the Model ID of the Phone. Once that has happened there is no way to flash a different ROM.
I tried various tools to try and get the Model ID changed back, if you use MTTY you can read the Model ID, but I don't think you can change it with that tool.
In the end I had to send mine to back to HTC to get the mainboard replaced.
hm sounds very bad..
but i think i saw the awnser somewhere...
try checking other wp7 devices forums,
hd2 people are very active..
hd7 people too...
somewhere ive read about some "force rom download mode" by pressing camera button on boot too, dont know if there was truth in it...
you say you had the t mobile 1.28 installed or you did try to install it?
it is not "unbranded" if its from tmobile (or do i get the term unbranded wrong?)
i belive there are 3 different t-mobile roms: TMO-DE, TMO-CZ, TMO-AT
these are all branded roms,
if you want unbranded you get: HTC-EU or HTC-Generic
ive used this method to unbrand my mozart from tmode 1.25 to tmode 109 to HTCEU 1.28
if you come from TMODE (as a german you should) you may want to try the 109 rom (works without goldcard)
so that i understand right, you can use the OS but you cannot make calls because of the cooked radio?
Hi, I have a German rom 1.28 installed, because i only can choose German or English language, but I do not remember which version it was. I think I previously had to install a 1.09.
However, there is something not been in order.
I think that the "force download mode" for this time is just for Zune, but I try to search for more information.
If I could flash any firmware I would do, but there is the problem with my "Model ID".
I think, the goldcard method is the right way, but it don´t works.
To eliminate errors about my hardware ( selfmade y-cable and hama 19in1 usb-cardreader ) I have ordered a delock y cable and a single usb-sd reader to try it on weekend again, but I think, the hardware is not my problem.
But i can test it not before weekend, because I´m a truck driver and only on the weekend at home.
Phone calls can I do with this firmware.
My display is out, if I choose a phone number. This time I only can hang up with the headset or by take out the battery
It works again until the other person accepts the call or the mobile hangs up automatically after 8 or 10 rings.
The volume of the headset ( earphones and micro), with this firmware is to quiet, too.
There are many problems….
somebody else with 1.28 and problems?
you dont need goldcard to flash back to stock rom
you should be able to flash any stock tmode rom without goldcard.
try to flash 109 without goldcard.
I´ve tried to install the
“RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.09.001.16_5.50.09.15_22.23.50U_Signed_by_ansar”,
but after 1% my mobile reboots and the RUU Installer says:
244 wrong “MODEL ID”
are you sure it is a german Mozart?
this rom you flashed is made for unbranding.
Have you tried this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817691
just saying....
that suxx have you tried this?

Problem Solved!
Here are the steps I took to resolve the issue I was having, with the Mozart stuck at bootloader, "Enter USB Host...".
First I formatted the SD-card, then used my brothers Android phone with ASTRO File Manager to extract the CID code from the SD card.
1. Insert the SD card into the Android phone
2. Start the ASTRO File Manager
3. Navigate to sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:aaaa (instead of aaaa there could be something else as well)
4. Long press on the 'cid'-file
5. First select Open as, then Text
6. Then select File-Editor
7. Write down the number 1 to 1 onto your PC/Mac
Once I had the CID code, I used http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard to generate & email me the goldcard image file.
I formatted the SD card at this point, FAT32, 4096 sector size.
I then used HxD Hex Editor and Disk Editor to copy the goldcard.img into the first sector the SD card.
Heres how:
1. Run HxD as Adminstrator
2. Open the SD card by going to Extras > Open Disk > Physical Disks (important) > Removable Drive. Make sure Open as Read only is unchecked.
3. Open the goldcard.img by going to Extras > Open Disk Image.
4. From the goldcard.img, Select All and Copy all bytes.
5. Paste into the first 384 bytes of the SD card - offset(h) 0x0 - 0x170.
Next I copied a European ROM on the the SD card (in explorer as you would with any file) and rename it to MOZAIMG.nbh
With the Y-cable I booted the phone and to my disbelief it started and successfully reflashed the phone.

Hope this helps!

there has to be a way to fix it.. or maybe not
the other guy said he got his mainboard changed, maybe you broke it.. damn...
@pik.
I have tested to flash the "RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.25.111.05_5.50.09.18_22.24.50_RELEASE", but after 1% the same problem "Invalid Model ID"
@webwalk®
I have created the gold card according to these instructions.
I have no Android phone, so I have the part to find out the cid solved with an Ubuntu Live CD and my built-in Cardreader.
The goldcard seems to work, since it goes from loading in checking..., then it is always the same on serial
Edit: Yes, I´m sure, that it is a German HTC Mozart.
i've the same problem with 1.28
can someone help us?

i had at first the dynamics7 1.00 mango rom installed on my htc mozart.
after that i made rspl to 1.28.
after that i tried to install RUU_Mozart_S_HTC_Europe_5.12.401.02_5.71.09.02a_22 .51.50_RELEASE. the flashing started. than the phone restartet and installed spl 5.12 but the flashing doesent went to finish because of vendor id error.
now i cannot flash any stock tmob de or htc europe rom because of vendor id error. (clear because of spl 5.12) but the slspl rom doesent work, too. every flashing stops at 1%....

mine is doing the exact same thing! would be great if someone could shed some light on the problem, i will keep you posted if i find a solution.

Is that the Mango ROM? If so you are not meant to have HSPL on your device... You are meant to put back the Original SPL before you flash to the official Mango ROM.
Yes i think bootloader screen.
Thank you very much for trying to help me....
Yes,this is New MANGO ROM 7720
oops, thanks for your help. is it possible to reverse the process and restore it to original?
Its, problem me too...
help!
Bootloader restore ? maybe ?
How to ?
Full reset ?
How to ?
heeeeeeelp!
No clue, don't think there is a way to put an older SPL on your device at the moment.
Perhaps in time there will be a fix, maybe monitor the "Shipped HTC mango roms" in the Phone 7 forum, under the Development section
Sorry, can't give a link as I'm on phone. Perhaps try and flash hour device with a pre-mango ROM (Original, not custom)... See if it lets you, if so hopefully the bootloader will be put back to an older version.
You guys really need to read first and be more careful. If there are no replies and you think it may be dangerous then ask or wait for some feedback from other users

[Q] HD2 back to stock issue

Despite my best (inexperienced) efforts to get my original windows phone back, I have failed.
A while back I stumbled through converting my phone to Android from Windows 6.5, this is the exact details on my phone currently...
Android Version 2.3.2
Baseband 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Kernel Version [email protected]#26
Build Number Gingerbread HD2 v2.1
I would be ever so grateful if somebody could 1 tell me if it possible to go back to original phone, and 2, how I can go about doing that as i seem to be coming up against walls with what I try, as I said i'm not the best with software.
Many thanks to anyone with the time to advise me.

We'll sometimes it's a combination of bad luck, what you can do is to check the battery points in the phone, sometimes they are bend so they don't make a connection, then I suggegst to power your phone to the battery charger and hold down the volume button that should bring you into bootloader, you can also do this with a sd-card with the original rom on it, then it's not necesarry to charge your phone for 50%, you have to rename the RUU_signed.nbh file into leoimg.nbh and copy that file to your sd-card, then it will ask you directly to update the phone.
Succes

Well i did exactly that, Not only that, tied installing using the RUU which has been downloaded from HTC site...
using the RUU it give me the error ERROR [262] which is
ERROR [262, 276, 284, 302] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.
Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.
Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.
While installing from SD card
On the RED GREEN BLUE Screen is
PB8110 HK-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(Touch) 0x30
Upgrade ROM code error Please Try again
then when it goes to the white screen says Loading...
and it stays like that... anybody has any suggestion for me or did i just brick my phone while trying to get it back to Stock ROM
Try another rom, probably the rom is corrupt.
Succes,
Downloading 9 different ROMS at last found the right one which did flash properly. Thanks for the help.
You must remember when flash via SD you loose the HSPL as first stage of SD flash installs standard spl so loose the CID bypass you had with the HSPL.
Always best try & flash from PC as you have CID bypass & retaining the HSPL is safer & any generic HTC ROM can be used (TMOUS>usa t-mobile should use original WM rom - see htc wiki)
