i figure for those into "Beats" & booming bass, that i'd start a thread recommending some tracks for you to get the most out of your Beats experience. I'm pretty much just into dance music so i'll post some of that, but you're welcome to reply with hop hop/rap/etc also.

here's one I was blasting this morning from my car:
Its a fairly new style of dance music called "moombahton". was started here in good ol' USA. it may not seem like it in this track, but my subs were shaking the hell out of my car while it was playing.
T.I. - Top Back was always one of my favorites for bass
Are you guys just listening to youtube with the Beats headphones on or downloading the songs to use in the stock music player? Or downloading the videos?

Is there a way to get this system, app, feature on my Samsung galaxy???
Thanks a lot
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
i will guess and say no. if there's an app, then it's related to the audio chip. i've already read the one in our phone is poor quality, so i'm getting another Cowon PMP.
and it was showed that it was mainly some really good EQ profiles in software and that is why they can add that to roms.
I would think that porting from a sense rom to it might not be too easy , but never know.
Yeah my friends just let me listen to some music via headphones on his Evo3d and all I can say is wow.

you can download Equalizer from Market and adjust it so its just as good/better then Beats.
It is fairly easy to duplicate the beats sound by using PowerAmp and it's EQ settings.
I have a set of ultimate ears earbuds and they sound as good or better than beats after playing with the EQ for a while.
I do like how easy beats makes it however, when you can just fire up the HTC player, plug in the phones and off you go.

Agreed...and Equalizer has preset widgets, so switching it up is easy.
I froze beats on my rezound.
Htc released the api's for beats audio codec so it's up to the app developers to incorporate it. Pretty soon main stream apps like Pandora will have it I'm sure

Yea I've been testing them against my regular Sony's. I'm too cheap to buy beats headphones so I wanted to compare while I had them.

agreed, Equalizer works pretty good, I just have to remember to put it back on normal before taking a phonecall with the BT...
It's nice that it works for BT and headphones and slightly for the speaker.
I actually bought some beats over the ear about a month ago. I think it was the solo hds and they sounded amazing. I ended up returning them though to save up for this phone and these ibeats
Are pretty sick to. Just thought I would share my story with all of you. Lol

I agree with equalizer, just try small increments at first, or you will have more distortion. The neutral quality of audio while playing with this is pretty good as is. It is much louder then most in my experience. So the EQ benefits sound quality even at higher volumes compared to other androids. As a start, 2-4 db increase at low and high end should be your max. You can go a little higher on this but not much.. But on other models, over 2-3 and you risk a lot of distortion because of lack of earjack power.

I don't get any hiss from my headphones (Citiscape Downtown). It depends on how sensitive your headphones are, mine are rated at 102dB. Also try using a different music player that doesn't enable beats. I use UberMusic. Hope this helps.

I myself am toying around with a few setups trying to decide which is best. Im finding ROMS play a big part in sound quality. So please post your ROM. I dont know if its cause we dont have kernel source or what, but i cant get the sound quality i had with my thunderbolt.
ROM - Ineffibillis Deus 1.0
Poweramp - like it, but crashes and freezes a lot, at least for me and cant figure out why. When it works i use rock preset, tone disabled, srs enabled, beats disabled. Id give sound quality and power an 8/10.
Google Music - not great alone.. But when combined with EQualizer app it can come close to poweramp. Im shying away from this because i dont want to get too used to it since we will be losing unlimited data.. Also, i hate having to be logged into webplayer at home with my gmail accessible.. :/ ill give this 7.5/10
So what are you guys running?

Yeah me either on my tbolt. I cant figure it out.. Driving me nuts. On any clean flash of any current rom, it will run fine until i tap library to change the song. Then it freezes for a few moments before ot either crashes, or actually resumes.

Clear data? That usually seems to fix things.
Though, on a clean rom you shouldn't have to do that....

Then custom EQs on poweramp will make you cry.
Stock operating system, stock music player, beats audio, JVC Gumy buds or Klipsch s4 earbuds. Sounds awesome. Just listened to some Gorgoroth before bedtime last night!

After reading theses posts I tried Poweramp and yes it is very nice. Big improvement over the stock music player. My Rezound sounds much better now over the bluetooth in my car. Prier to Poweramp the stock player lacked Bass, Poweramp is able to over come that disability. Poweramp actually makes the Rezound a lot closer to the sound quality we had on the EVO3D and it didn't even come with Beats Audio.

I highly doubt that! I'm not much of a crier.
And I would never say I'm an audiophile either. I'll check out power amp though if there is a chance it can make Slayer sound better!

It is a big improvement as a previous user posted. You can set EQs where you want, or use the built in presets. And if you want multiple EQs, you can create your own presets.
I dont use earbuds, ever. All my comparisons are based on aux jack in my truck through a bose system. You will hear big differences this way

If you like it, go pro. I seriously can't stand Poweramp coming from my Droid Charge. I tried multiple versions, all of which crashed all the time. I had different ROMs, kernels, etc and Poweramp still crashed. Maybe its fixed now, maybe not.
I think Mortplayer, DSP Manager, and Neutron is where its at.
Oh, and by the way, you take a hit on sound quality in Poweramp with the EQ or tone controls active. It is just the way it is. I don't consider the Rezound sound in the same league as Galaxy S and family on Voodoo or the iPhone, but the Rezound could sound fine if tweaked. Neutron player should have enough tweaks to whip the Rezound sound into shape without a quality hit.
My $.02
I've been using PowerAmp Pro for about 1.5-2 years and never had a problem with it. The Beats headphones kinda suck with metal though since there's too much bass.

Sound quality hit. I A/B'ed with and without EQ by listening to music and toggling it on and off with the EQ set to flat. It likely has more benefit than harm if you really need to EQ though.
Neutron player is where it is at, IMO.
Its this phone... Just has terrible output. Im seriously thinking of reconnecting my tbolt. You think its has anything to do with no kernel source? How could the tbolt be better?

Guys I just want to let everyone know if you're looking for unbelievable sound quality that really shines on our g2, try neutron music player.
It has a 64 bit mode that Will knock your socks off. I was a viper fan previously but I just couldn't get it to sound quite right. The bass effects on neutron are shaking my f150 apart. It's processor heavy on 64 bit mode so it eats battery while it's playing but it's so worth it imho.

I didn't find any difference between 32 bit and 64 bit. Does it only work on FLAC or what?
I have a good earphones so that's not the issue.
On earphones use cross feed, There's definitely a learning curve. On 64 bit I notice a huge difference. Night and day actually, Oh and don't forget to set resampling to audiophile

(I coincidentally was looking into it myself!)
Been singing the praises of Neutron for a long time now. This is my third phone running it, so 3 years or so I guess.
Setup and acclimation can be slightly intimidating, but it does provide better sound than PowerAmp or PlayerPro (or any one of the the four or five other premium players I paid for over the years).
I must absolutely stress that the differences provided by many of the advanced features is entirely dependent on source and speakers. If you don't know what EAC is or what .flac files are and you think a good set of headphones come from Bose or Apple, just walk away and save yourself the frustration.
If you haven't tried in a year or so, the app has had several noteworthy upgrades that improve the UI. It's quite a bit more intuitive and "flashy" now.
