Battery life is awful - 7 Mozart General

I had bought a Mozart when they first came out about a year ago, but back then battery life was dire, I took it of charger at 6am, it was flat by 2pm, although I loved the phone and interface I couldn't cope with that type of battery life so sold it and bought an iPhone 4.
I bought another Mozart on Friday as I do love the handset and was hoping battery life was maybe improved but sadly no better.
I take of the charger at 6am, before I go out the door at 7am its down to 90%, its again flat shortly after lunch time. I check twitter and emails for 5 mins in the morning then data is off, I do listen to music or radio at work but thats the height of it and its flat by 2pm, this is with 7.5
Surly somethings not right? My iPhone I keep data active all day, when I get home from work at 6pm its around the 50% mark, thats with listening to music all day and checking twitter and email a few times per day.
Anyone else experience this?

Mugen Battery
Get yourself one of these: HTC 7 Mozart Extended 1800 mAh Mugen Battery

most of the inbuilt apps such as "me" "email"... refresh constantly and use data
this might be reason
increase the refresh time to longer life

or try to deactivate all settings which are not really neccessary to be active whole time

Turn off Email sync to manual use Wifi and 3G only when required.
Turn screen brightness to normal and use dark theme as background, this should help else go for Mugen Power after market battery.

Mine isn't that bad, but it's not great either!
I get around 17 hours out of each charge with data on the whole time and emails checked every 15 mins. This includes around 1 hour of screen on time whilst listening to music.

whats your hero battery life like?

just wanted to know what an average battery life is because my hero eats charge very very quickly
please post how long it lasts and how long you use it: games, browsing, music ect
I can get through the day with no real issue, have GPS on, WiFi on but set to switch off on screen off (advanced settings), Bluetooth on.
Twidroid set to update every 30 mins
HTC Mail set to manual update
FeedR (RSS) set to update every 4hrs
Facebook set to update every 4hrs
Use HTC Mail quite a bit when away from my Mac
Twidroid a lot during the day to tweet and read tweets
Never use it for music, browse a bit but not that much unless out and about.
Games rarely.
I did find (on the v1 firmware) that Peep and Stocks were real resource and battery killers. Since stopping using them the Hero has been rock solid and waay faster. even better now with the v2 firmware.
TBH, the battery lasts a lot longer than my Nokia N82 and N85 ever did and they were not using WiFi or Twitter etc.
4-8 hours but under crazy usage. If its my day off. 18 hours ish.
About 1 to 2 days. Occasionally, some process goes crazy and it drains the battery - usually after charging the phone. Now I tend to reboot after charging the phone. I don't have GPS running normally. WiFi switches off when not in range of my remembered networks. I have Advanced Task Manager to kill off processes. Removed Twitter from the phone. Use Twidroid - checks every 2 hours. Turned off data synchronization for calendar and contacts - I do that manually. I leave gmail on. I take 5 to 10 calls per day. If you receive a lot of messages and gmail, turning off audio notification/buzz will also reduce drain on your battery - but this trades off you getting notified in a timely fashion except via visual (flashing LED).
I found that killing off the Advanced Task Manager application reduced awake time on the phone from about 22% to about 12%. Killing off the actual application doesn't affect the part that periodically wakes up and kills tasks - it just removes the module that sits in the notification bar and displays running tasks and other system information. Checking the awake time gives a reasonable indication of other applications that keep your phone from sleeping and reducing power consumption. This extended my phone battery life another half day or so.
mine lasts for about 24-48 hours. depending on usage.
By running APNdroid, my battery holds its charge for 2 days
It barely lasts the day out, but I use it!! and dare I say, make calls on it during the course of the day, shock horror! The battery isn't great. Emails and calls mainly
3 days with all stuff off and listening to music.
But i do take a few calls a day, up to 15 mins daily for now.
about 24h with gmail and gcal on, exchange mail as it arrives and pop mail on 30min checks, weather sync on, about 30min browsing, 30min music, 30min talking and 30-60min playing games :/
me happy
should be more, shouldn't it?
from what i hear, iPhone lasts less, my Touch HD had a 1500mah battery and it lasted shorter, friend's Nokia E71 with 3 mail accounts set up doesn't make it over 12h really and she doesn't use it for anything but mail and sms/calls....i can't remember the last phone that lasted me 3 days, probably Nokia 6230, and that was long time ago :/
2 days easily with couple of hours of listening music per day and reading gmail / browsing a bit, sms and about an hour of talking.
I dont have Twitter sync on, no bluetooth, no wifi.. Google does sync all the time
with activesync set to receive emails as it arrives and no more than 30mins of calls, i get about 12hrs batt time before recharging.

My Xperia did laste 3/4 days..... 1500.
But why don't these companies work on the batt preformance :S
Doubt it's relevant, but how do you charge your battery, and also your initial charge from new.
This is the first phone I've had that I didn't leave the initial charge on all night, and just took off after a few hours when it was charged up. Do you think that affects the performance of the battery?
Do any of you let it run out past the amber warning colour as a completely flat battery is probably better to charge?
The main reason I don't leave it on all night is because it gets really hot.
All my other phones were left on charge all night, every night, but they weren't this type of phone....

How do you access the advances settings for WiFi?? Please tell me where to find them. Thanks.
The Hero dosen't last me a working day. But I make a lot of calls. I prefer to carry two batteries rather than having to keep turning things on and off...
2-3 days with most stuff on.
I get at least a full working day out of it, that's with 3g on for the majority of the day, lot of tweet/fb bit of web, some music, text and calls. Pretty good tbh, especially compared to my old n82!
About 24hrs when i use it alot and have WiFi on all the time..

Battery life

Mine is shocking. I have wifi ect turned off. Im running SPB 3.5,
Charged for 8 hours last night, Left this morning @ 8am and my battery is now down to 40%!! I havent even used it either!!
Is it a faulty battery or is the phone just ****?
one thing to note is that the battery level indicator is not accurate in the slightest
mine needs a charge every other day for light text, call use and once a day when used as an mp3 player, and maybe a 2nd short day charge if using fpsece alot
ok cheers pal.
batt
I charge as well every other day, I have 2 imap4 account (every 30 minutes refreshed), SPB 3.5 weather every 4 hours refreshed.. 30 minutes of call per day, 5 emails read daily approx, checking time and weather 3-8 times a day. return the phone to orange, battery is sufficient.. ciao
Had the same problem
Eventually I bought mugen battery for me and my brother 1300Mah (which is
same size as original).
I can definitely say its now improved.
I watch atleast 30 min of videos a day.
I talk for 30-40 min
send 10-15 sms messages
play games for 20-30 min
and use wifi for 10-15 min (check facebook, college mail, email)
and still come back home in the evening with a working phone.
the original was a disaster lol

Actuallu oruginak is 1000mah. Mugen 1300mah
For me the original battery got pretty bad over the last year and lost capacity. I think being this undersized and the very inaccurate level indicator doesn't help the battery to hold its designed capacity when empty battery isn't that good for battery health. And my battery was empty a lot of times.
So I hope this improves a lot with the ordered mugen battery 1300mAh.

If you want battery life get rid of spb asap! And if you have one of those roms that come with spb preinstalled and you can't disable it, try reinstalling another rom. I suggest the rom in my signature, it is 6.1 but it realy flies! It also leaves you with 100+ mb free boot ram. If you're having problems with ppl complaining about not hearing you well etc there is another version in the same thread with radio 5005.1700.05 which is for many europeans the best radio with crisp sound during calls and great battery life. Day before yesterday about 12:30AM (well practically that is yesterday ) i started with full 100% and installed this rom, which is quite a battery draining procedure. Yesterday phone was connected to bt headset all day, talked about 20-30mins and today as i'm writing this post i'm in almost full 70% on a mungen 1300mah battery.
edit: I forgot to mention something important, cpu is set to low and backlight to middle.
edit2: Today at 8:30 it reached 10% and got the recharge msg. Yesterday all day i had no calls just bt headset connection. So that's 2 full days and some change, highest ever
Now that I have the new mugen battery with 1300mAh I can state that my old original battery lost something about 30-50% during the last year. That's pretty bad, eh?

Last year? You must have bought your phone from the early ones. 30-50 is indeed quite quite bad

Can you share the battery performance of Lumia 800?

e.g. 1 hour web-browsing, 1 hour call, 30 SMS, 2 hours music per day
With 3G data connection on, WIFI off, etc.
And lasts for xxx hours / xx% left after xx hours
Can you share the battery performance of Lumia 800?
First day I got 16 hours, second day 22 hours and now its up to around 24-25 hours.
3 email accounts (check every hour), 1 hour web, facebook, couple of calls (around 10 mins) and a few sms. Wifi on.
92% after nearly 3 hours, push on for 3 email accounts, Mehdoh and twitter sync in the background. WiFi is on but not connected at some points so I've switched it off. I've also sent a few texts, downloaded an app or two and some attachments.
Current estimate for battery life is 13 hours left.

Out of interest is this your first day battery? Because mine seems to be getting better every day.
I have the phone for 1 week, I never get to 0%, this is just what the battery saver screen tells me.
But, I think this good estimation more or less 1 hour.
can someone compare battery life with Samsung Galaxy S ?
Question about charging
This marks my return to Windows (I had the venerable MDA Vario II) and more recently I have been using Android (Hero & ZTE Blade) but now it's all about Lumia 800 and I'm blown away so far with this phone & WP7.
I just wanted to ask if this is "normal": with the phone completely switched off (not sleeping) I then plug in the charger the phone would boot up.
If the phone is on & plugged into the charger and I switch it off it would then reboot. Is there no way to charge the phone without it being on?
Thanks.
I have to wait 1 or 2 weeks before reviewing the battery life, every new phone i used in the last years improved dramatically it's battery life after about 10 charges.
Got one of these last Wednesday when they came out. Moved on from HTC desire whcih I enjoyed a lot for different reasons. The Lumia is a superb phone but I was a bit worried about the battery life on the first few days.
After a usual day the battery was at 15% the first day then 20% the second. Granted I was fiddling with it as is normal for a new phone but my HTC would be on about 50-60% doing the same.
I remember that you need to do a couple of full charges and the battery should get better and today it was on 50% when I got home so that is a big improvement and hoping it will improve more.
I did have both my mail accounts on push to start with but have changed them to once every 30 minutes. Wifi always on, bluetoooth always off. All other sync options on so live tiles and people hubs syncing however much they do.
All in it's getting better and I am extremely happy with the phone. I took some pics yesterday and they look amazing on the PC but not so good on the phone so don't despair if they look crappy when you review them on phone.
You may have seen that I've been getting good battery, today I used the phone a LOT after going to visit a family member and spending a lot of time on the bus (traffic in Birmingham is bad at the best of times ) here's the results:
Took off charge at 11:00. It's now 21:03.
Around 3 hours of music. Wifi always on, Bluetooth off. Spent about 1/2 hours not connected to celluar network. Lots of web browsing and using web applications like Facebook and Twitter. About 30 mins gaming.Facebook chat on. 20 SMSs sent, 1 phone call and a few IMs via Facebook and MSN Messenger. Twitter and facebook accounts both connected. 1 Email service, about 15 emails received today pushed to the phone as they arrive.
Remaining battery life: 28%
Estimated time remaining: 2 hours (will jump to 3 with battery saver on)
Time since last charge: 10 hours.

I think it's a very good result for those who got used to charge phone every night. Just OK
Go to dialer and call ##634# this will activate the diagnostic app....
There is a option called Battery Status in the diagnostic app...
From there you can check your current discharging, maybe it's i better way to compare the discharging....
Check with different options what is draining your battery..
Had mine a week and a half now, my average use is as follows:
Take off charge @9am, Wifi on all the time, have Facebook, Twitter synced through People Hub.
Have Gmail synced but on Manual, Outlook on push and Windows Live only for Xbox Live.
I also have FB app with push notifications on.
I prob listen to music at most half hour a day, very little browsing on phone due to using SGS2 as my main phone, check Marker place a couple of times, no SMS sent and luckily if I make a phone call on it.
This is my works phone so mainly used of emails. So I receive on average 30 emails a day.
Phone switches to battery saver about 5ish and then runs on until about 11pm before dying.
So my thoughts are standby time is crap for what I use it for, battery saver is good but that's due to auto sync being turned off!
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S2
I own Nokia Lumia 800 and HTC Desire HD also.

[Q]Real world battery life

When someone here gets one of these could they please let us know what the battery life is like?
I know nokia says 400 hours standby but standby figures are kinda plucked out of the air since smart phones, i'm sure mine has 200h plus but realistically 2g, everthing turned off I can get around 4 days use of it when only using it for calls/txts. I nreal world upto 2 days, 1 day if I use it a lot.
I know its not real world use, but sometimes when i'm away in area's with no access to a charger I like to know I can last a couple of days without it dieing on me!
Cnet claims that it drops to 25% after just 4 hours of heavy usage. If this is true I would never buy it and it would be a real shame. Lumia 800 had same issues many months after launch and even after numerous software updates it is still not up there.Working at Nokia so I've seen my fair share of lumia failure...Really hope the 920 delivers.

Was that test with 4g on? i'm assuming with 4g it constantly searches for the network. If simply turning 4g off gives a nice boost to battery i'll be happy with that, personally i'm fine 90% of the time with 2g speeds.
My current phone gets just under 2 hours use in navigon at full charge. I know generally you have a car charger in car, but its the only way generally I use to measure how long the battery lasts.
I remember my first smart phone would power tomtom for around 5 hours on one charge, sure the screen was smaller and the processor was slower, but it was still perfectly usable. I suppose 320x240 would feel very wierd now tho...

Is this really that bad? Because this would mean you'll get about 8 hours with half the battery on heavy usage (assuming linear discharging). I'd think that is pretty good.
I currently own Samsung Focus (1st Gen) and I get about 26 hrs or so on moderate to low usage.
Unless they mean 4 hours straight gaming or watching a movie that is a lie.
I've had my phone for 6 hours using it pretty much none stop. Downloading lots, taking pictures/video, trying maps/gps, wifi on but not connected, no LTE but "4g", placed a few calls, dozens of text, full settings/setup, etc etc. This was from the phone coming out of the box at ~50% charged and I am at 19%.
Just got it so I will report back in a few days and see how it goes.
I've had mine for a week now and I have to say Im a heavy user - maybe because of that Im not too happy with the battery. I have to charge it after 7 or 8 hours but I do have bluetooth on, wifi on, 3g on, push email, facebook updates etc on all the time. As an Ipad owner I thought it might be on a par with that for battery life but it isnt....
I use my phones enough that I am use to charging them every day. I have yet to have a smart phone that would last me 2 days. This phone so far fits right in there, no worse no better. Haven't had it long enough to be a final decision though.
Yesterday I had it unplugged from 7am to 11:30pm and it was at 29%. This was with wifi off, BT off. Lots of usage, played a bunch of Angry Birds:SW, lots of texts/app downloads/heavy camera usage/etc...
In the end unless it makes it to the next morning at above ~55% it really doesn't matter, I'm going to have to charge it. All that matters to me is that i can make it through a day and so far this phone seems like it will be able to do that no problem. If you spent a heavy day of gaming and movies I suspect you would find yourself needing to charge again but that is inline with every other smartphone on the market unfortunately.
I've had the phone 72 hrs now. I previously had the 900, Focus S. I run my phone with bt, and WiFi on. I do not turn off lte or 4g. If the phone charge lasts from 6am till 330, then its good for me.
As with many new phones battery life in the first few weeks is not really accurate. Currently my 920 exhibits the same traits the 900 did.
I do light music and games, heavy internet and social contact, medium texting, but virtually no phone calls. As of now, this puts me in the 40-50% range. I expect it will get better as I stop experimenting with themes, lock screens and tile arrangements.
I've been able to use the Lumia 920 for one full day now and this is my battery information:
The information i'm about to put out is with; text messaging, internet, couple of phone calls, 15 minute gameplay, more surfing the internet
The battery information can be found ' Settings -> Battery Saver -> Battery Info '
Battery info:
Remaining battery life: 47%
Estimated time remaining: 3 days 3 hours (obviously meaning standby time)
Time since last charge: 20 hours
I took the phone off the charger at around 10pm last night and haven't used the charger since then.
My battery drains real fast. I think its down to 2 reasons: 1.data connection speed is set to 4G. 2.Loads of background apps running.
I dont have 4G in my area so the phone is swithing to 3G sometimes even poor 3G signal which makes it go to 2G. so if its constantly switching network signals that will drain battery fast. my Lumia has no option to keep it only on 2G, but i can change to 3G or 4G. If i could change it to 2G i guess the battery would last all day with no problems.
turning off background apps can also help reduce battery consumption.
btw i have a Lumia 920 bought from Phones4u using a TMobileUK sim
Ive had the 920 from the MS Build conference for a few weeks now.
1. I turned off NFC (tap to send). No need for it.
2. I turned off Bluetooth, unless I actually need it.
3. I ride the train for an hour to work, and an hour home, and use the internet sharing pretty much the whole way with my Surface.
4. I have it set to pull email from 3 different accounts, with it set to get items as they arrive, and I get a lot of email throughout the day.
5. The area I live in is all LTE.
6. I leave wifi turned on all the time, as I have it at home and at work.
7. I make a few calls during the day each day, but maybe only 20 or 30 total minutes at most.
I've found the battery life after a few weeks now to be excellent. Even after an hour of internet sharing on the train, it has only used 7% of the battery. Battery life seemed shorter during the first week or two, so i'm guessing everyone else will have similar results as the batteries get conditioned. I haven't had a problem with it running out of power before the end of the day. Early on it did, but it has gotten much better,

After a week, today , this is what I see also. My phone comes off the charger when full, last night it was 11:15pm. The charge sits at 85% with 40 hrs estimated time remaining.
I have BT, WiFi, Tap to Send on. I have gone into background tasks and blocked anything I don't want running. I have noticed that Nokia Drive+BETA, when on, really drains the battery, as does streaming from XBOX Music Cloud. So Nokia drive is blocked in background tasks and I do have Cloud Music turned off.
I drained the battery to under 10% last night....I'll try to push it tonight to get further.
But overall, I'm happy with the battery. I know I have some wiggle room with turning off BT and Tap to Send if I want.
Another day, another test.

I played Drag Race for a good 2 hours yesterday on top of texting a bunch, few pictures, normal browsing/FB/etc...
When I "plugged in" to go to bed I was still over 50%. (5:30am to 11pm)

(Xperia Go) Battery Life

Hi I'm looking for a discussion rather than a Q so I chose this section.
I'm looking to chat with Go users about the battery life. How long does your battery last and what do you use it for? I notice that it
has a comparatively small battery but this doesn't always mean low battery - and I notice this phone IS being officially updated to Jelly Bean. I think the lower resolution screen helps keep the CPU and battery relaxed perhaps? What's your usage like?
Per Day Usage
Phone calls
Music
Internet browsing
I'm using the Sola and I hate the battery, I have to charge it 1-2 times per day. I use it for 1 hour of browsing, 1 hour of music, 5 minutes of calls, lighting texting - then it dies, I hate it. I'm considering the Go or J. The J has poor CPU/RAM but far bigger battery vs the Go.

The GO has a *****n nice battery life I'm using a Sola and get round 16hours. My friend got a GO and his battery was after 9 hours from 100 on 80%!!
After 9 hours, your friend's Go went from 100 to 80%? That's not bad at all! Does he/she leave the internet on? That seems to be a huge battery killer but I need it. If the Go could last 2 days I'd buy it now...
I bought my XGO two weeks ago, and below is my battery life and its usage (sorry no screenshots)
Battery Life:
100% to 15% lasted around 45-50 hours
2 to 3 hours screen on time
Usage:
Exchange push sync (email, calendar)
Gmail push sync (email, calendar, contact)
Outlook.com sync every 1 hour (email, calendar, contact)
No Social Network (Facebook, Twitter, etc) sync
light web browsing of 15 minutes daily
Power Saver implemented:
Installed BitDefender PowerTuneup (disable all network connectivity from 1 - 6am daily, except only connected to basic phone network)
Restricted all background 3G data except for Exchange, and Google native services
Location, GPS, Bluetooth turned off 99.5% of time.
Screen Auto 55%
Battery life is almost the same as my Galaxy Nexus, but my Galaxy Nexus can never get more than 2 hours screen on time even with 2000mAh battery, I guess maybe the screen used up too much power... Battery life for Go is pretty good in my opinion, would be super if it comes with 1600-1700 mAh battery...

Yes he did The whole day, his mobile Internet is activated and he has a screen on time of round 75%!!
I get about 4-5 hours nonstop browsing with brightness at about 30%, wifi and autosync on.
If wifi is off, I lose 2-3% while I sleep. That's about 7-8 hrs of sleep.
I keep data on and forced 3g during work. Signal is poor at my desk so with constant use I end up with about 30-40% after 7 hours if I didn't bring my charger.
Battery mileage really depends on how it's used and what's installed and what's running and how bright the screen is.
The bottom line is that this phone lasts one work day with me without having to charge.

My experience from Go's battery is that if you do not have 3G on is good. Otherwise it is draining too fast. I get 1-2 days battery life depending on the use. Usage is mainly phone calls and texting and a bit of browsing and checking fora through tapatalk or xda apps. For forum reading I use 2g/edge so to not drain my battery. Brightness is at auto with 100% max level. In general I don't think its battery cab endure a whole day of heavy use.. Screen usually drains 65-70% of battery according to statistics.

Xperia GO Battery Life
I got this phone two weeks ago after having a water ingress failure on my Motorola Defy.. what a shame, but now I'm happy. This ST27a is a great phone, I am not a phone movie watcher or gamer, so CPU and RAM are more than adequate for myself. Great look, light weight, perfect size AND waterproof (angels singing)... I ordered it unlocked and it came with ICS pre-loaded (4.0.4), at first it was such a huge disappointment as for the battery life, it was draining very very quickly almost needing two charges at day, there was a system update available but I was lazy enough to not install the Sony thing on my PC, then I finally got the weekend time and updated it (to the 6.1.1.B.1.10, KERNEL VERSION 3.0.8+) IT SOLVED MY BATTERY ISSUES!!!
The phone has a more than sufficient battery life, I do surf web every time during the day, have updates every 30 minutes for Gmail, Facebook, weather, news, everything, and it lasts from 8.00am at 100% to next 11.00am to 14% (which the preset low batt alarm sounds). Only thing I do is switch data off during night that's it. Screen brightness while in the office is at minimum but you can easily read it very clearly. I do take a lot of pictures for my work and some videos and still get that battery life. The phone is OK, just take care of which software version you have installed. I am sure that if I would turn the data off and activate it only while the screen is on, the batt would last at least two days (I will make this test and see what happens).... cheers.

Try to upgrade it to a better fw .54.

With data, bluetooth and wifi off, I only lose about 1-2% overnight.
With Data on, this thing drains about 1% every 2 minute or so.
