What PRL? Have you tried updating your PRL?
Try calling sprint and ask for a reset.
Also check ur phone in another city (maybe ur hanging around in one area?) I lost 3g at home when lightning struck a tower and only had 1x for a week.
Ohter times, i have 1x and i just have to turn mobile network off and on to get it back.
Check your prl. I know I was stuck on 1x for a while because a prl borked my 3g. Thankfully I'm usually on wifi anyway.
I was stuck on 1x for about 3 months and it was pissing me off. I went in to sprint and they did a reset and it fixed it. You can have sprint reset it over the phone but you have to call from a different phone.
U can reset it yourself by doing this just make sure you are in a decent service area.

select edit and enter MSL
select data profile
select menu and select Restore
After your rebooted and back at your home screen go into settings/system updates/ and update your profile.

I got stuck on 1x once and this re provisioning worked and I didn't need to call sprint.

This is effectively the same method sprint will have you do when you call for the reset. Some times it still doesn't work without them doing something on their end though. Also it's unlikely he knows what his master subsidy lock code is. If you don't know it call sprint they will have you do this and tell you what your MSL is.

Alright that worked. I flashed the 21083 prl and the 21081 prl in the same recovery session then did ##72786# then rebooted and it went through the hands free stuff and let it update the prl from the 21081 to the 21083 and bama I got my 3g back. Thank u for it help and suggestions

Awesome! I have been stuck on 1x for days now, went to the Sprint store twice, and called customer care 4 times with no luck. My speedtest results were .12-.13mbps average, now they're .75-.85mbps which isn't the best (Verizon is a constant 1.5mbps here) but after looking at the cost to switch to Verizon and what i'd be losing, I'm so glad you guys got my back! Thanks!

I'm on my 3rd and hopefully last 3D. All 3 of them 3G sucked right out of the box. I tried the tricks of changing Home and Roam settings but that really didn't do much but slow down upload speed. Out of the box they all had download speeds of like 130kbps...bad experience. After reprovisioning and resetting data my d/l is from 795-1055kbps. This was the same result on all 3 phones! Here is what I did, may be overkill, but i'm totally happy:

select menu and select Restore

No..1st phone was locking up a lot, 2nd had a HUGE white speck of dust under the screen..this 3rd phone has light leakage, but I can accept that, it's a winner!

No problem...glad it worked for you! Not sure if you're into Sprint NFL or Sprint NASCAR but now they will open up. Before doing this it would tell me I had to put it into airplane mode to reset data...but it would never work!
2 questions:
1) How do I find my MSL?
2) Will I lose any of my apps or important data by doing the above?

Call into customer service to get MSL#
Or check the development section for a "program" that finds it within your phone fore you
*its easiest to just call in and get it*
And no, no apps or app data will be deleted that I know of.. op would have to confirm this but I've done this a few times with no ill effects

Exactly what nate420 said, you won't lose anything and it's easiest to just call Sprint for MSL if you're not comfortable with CDMA Workshop.
One thing I'm not sure about. ACCOLC setting on this phone is 5. It was 6 on the last phone, and it's 4 on my EVO 4G. What is ACCOLC showing for you guys?

My ACCOLC is 2 I changed it to 0... No difference I'm guessing it has to do with your area or prl?

Ive noticed on some phones under evdo preferred mode its set to cdma only and some set to auto. Mine was set orig to cdma only but changing to auto drastically boosted my speeds for 100kbps isn to 1500+

Input your MSL code.
If you have temp root, download msl reader from the market (it's free) and doesn't require a phone call. Worked for me.
Didnt do **** for me.
Called sprint was advised that as of March the 1st that they are no longer giving the MSL unless you are out of contract....

Is anyone able to force roam to Verizon their Photon? I cant get roam control to work at all it grants SU permissions and never does anything.. And ive tried going to settings-wireless and networks-mobile networks-sytem select- and tried to change from automatic to "Affiliated Networks" but it wont let me select it. It closes the menu and as soon as i open it is shows Automatic again. This is on CM7 btw. Is there any way to force roam with my Photon?? It would really help a TON as im spending the weekend in an area with terrible Sprint service.
You should probably dig around for the Verizon prl which I believe is 11115. Only problem with that is too much roaming will get you kicked off sprint. Its around here some where if I find the prl ill come back and post it.

not sure if this will work or not, but this is how i changed mine to automatic (since i don't have a SIM card and couldn't change it from the wireless/networks screen)
1. go to dialer
2. type in *#*#4636#*#*
3. navigate to phone information
4. scroll down to 'set preferred network type'
once again, i haven't tried this for roaming and such...
I tried to flash that PRL a while ago, but couldnt get QPST or whatever program was needed to read my phone for some reason. The PRL doesn't really help if i cant make my phone roam when i want it to, for what im trying to do atleast. I want to be able to manually tell my Photon to switch to roaming when I decide it may be better off on Verizons network. I eventually gave up on trying to get that PRL loaded since i cant manually tell my phone when to roam and when not to. Thats what im asking now, is there a way for me to manually select and force it to roam? That dialer menu doesn't allow me to choose roaming or not, just CDMA GSM and that, not to actually force it into roaming. Thanks though!
Get Roam Control. It's been pulled from market but it's on there web site Google it.

if you're rooted try this option out. it will allow you to force roam (verizon) when you select automatic in the settings. home only works as normal.

You shouldn't get charged for roaming, BUT roaming is limited and you will get warned and then kicked from Sprint if you go over. I have seen posts in other forums where this has happened to people. I can't remember for sure, but I seem to remember that this happened to the creator of roam control and he warned others about it...
I recently activated a HTC evo3d for sprint. Its my friend's. Calls and texts work fine but there is no 3g or 4g. Are there any fixes for this. The phone was previously hacked but I restored it by flashing a sprint RUU.

Just call Sprint. They'll first tell you to dial ##"your MSL"# > Edit Mode and look at your MDN and MSID numbers to see if they match up to what they have on file. If they do, then they'll tell you to go back and dial ##3282# > Edit Mode > Enter your MSL > Data Profile > Menu Key > Restore. This will restore the data profile and go through the activation process again.
Most of the time the above will be the fix, but if it doesn't they'll tell you there must be an outage in your area, even though they don't see it reported, and then they'll do absolutely nothing, at least that's what they've done to me 5-10 times now. Data has been out of whack for me lately and I don't think I'm the only one.

If the phone was previously on another account it has to be fully wiped vía ##RTN#, since you have it up and running you could do a ##SCRTN# which will reset the NAI values. That should clear up your connection issues.

Call sprint and let them restore ur data file. If the other methods don't work that you've been helped with on this thread, then they have to completely erase and restore the profile on their end that only they can do on ur account . Happened to me once

You can try ##3282#, edit, enter msl, hit Data Profile, menu-restore, then menu-commit.
So I bought an Evo LTE off of Craigslist, and called Sprint to ensure that the MEID DEC was clear to activate on the network. I was given the green light by them.
Unfortunately, I'm only able to activate Voice and SMS when on my line. I've spent countless hours with Sprint techs trying to get the data to work but to no avail. We tried many different dialer codes and still no luck. One thing of note, they had the wrong MSL in their system for this phone. I rooted the phone and used MSL reader to find the right code but still unable to activate data.
FWIW, the MSL is 000000 and after doing some research I've seen that MSL is when the phone is flashed over to Cricket? But it's strange because I'm able to activate voice and SMS just fine, just no cellular data (wifi is fine).
Any ideas? At this point the person isn't being responsive for a refund and I might just have to write this off, but it sucks regardless.
