[ROM]Stock Deodexed Roms - Streak 5 Android Development

Here are the stock deodexed roms for anyone that uses them. There are absolutely not changes at all except that it has been deodexed and zipaligned. There are no code changes or file tweaks at all.
The package is split into two parts, the first zip is the main zip that MUST be flashed. The second zip is all the bloatware that was removed, install if you want the bloatware back.
If there is a patch listed for a rom, it is recommended to install that after flashing the base rom.
You must use the normal pkg before installing, so for example if you want to use the stock 360 one you should update with the 360 pkg and THEN use this.
Requirements:
Streakmod Installed
Matching pkg flashed beforehand*
Instructions:
Prereqs: Update with the matching PKG
Copy latest base zip to sdcard
Copy latest patch zip to sdcard
Turn off device
Enter recovery mode

olleh stock

I couldn't get 406 deodexed. It would always fail on kafdex.jar regardless of what I tried.

I wont be supporting 406 for the moment, that's the only exception.

TheManii, after applying update 360 v1 zip over original 360, it seems there's a problem with the Settings.apk. It shows as 'com.android.settings.Settings' and can't be opened - can't access Settings anywhere.

I havnt actually tested it, I'll do so later to make sure everything actually works.
Normally I test all my stuff before releasing but I had promised I'd release this on sun. If it's only a couple small things I'll release a patch zip and an updated full zip

Manii you rock...just seen this this morning...ill donate tonight when i get home from work. What does a six or twelve pack of your favorite brew cost?

may i know why?

Tried to get the settings to work but i cant get to unknown sources to try and install any chance u can look at this manii? What if we take out the settings stuff in the zip and flash will the stock one work then just delete the odex files or will that screw the zipalign?

Any chance on getting these?

I'm gonna be free on weds to do a lot of deving for dell devices, getting 360 working is near the top of my list.
I'm gonna spend time actually testing it so it'll be out once i'm sastified that everything actually works, I dont normally release stuff completely untested.

Thanks manii much appreciated...coukd you please tell me where you make your flashable zips for roms?

I'm kinda partial to 351. Any chance of getting it deodexed?
Thanks!

I dont see why you would use 351 over 360, but I'll do those two together.
But 360 takes priority as I kinda had him waiting on it for a month

I find that BB 351 just seems to run better on my Streak. I have no idea why.

Not another month Manii please ;-) Is there a site you use to deodex the rom? If so can you tell me so I can learn and ill try it.
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda premium

I use a deodexing script, right now I'm in the middle of doing some battery testing.
It's auto-deodexer, but I made a couple changes since it's not supported anymore (it's just a script on top of smali/baksmali)
If it wasnt for the fact I got 4 hours of sleep in 70 hours I woulda already done it by now.
I'm gonna hopefully deodex 360 -> 407 -> 351 in that order since I kept you waiting this long.

Hi drgopoos,
This looks like a great mod, any ideas if I could install this onto an official 2.2 315_12332?
this is AWESOME! I've been wanting something like this since I got my Streak. I've used some widgets but they showed me different numbers than the internal numbers

Dont use the same file as what i have posted . You may end up with force closing of many apps. THe best thing to do will be to copy the framework-res.apk file as given in the guide and then use the online kitchen to cook it.
Let me know how it goes .

IF u r using kikmal theme then i think u have to use the framework-res.apk file from the initial installation folder that u used to install the theme... I used this framework-res.apk and was able to cook sucessfully , but now i dont remember which one of the many files i cooked.

Awsome work...looks great..now I wish I could have old status bar back

[Q] Gingerbread Keyboard

Okay, so after flashing the new Bionix-V ROM, i have been customizing it to fit me.
One thing I have been dying to get was the skinned Gingerbread keyboard. The Blackout Green one in particular. Found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9814026&postcount=169
There is a flash-able .zip and an .apk file. I have tried both methods and still no luck. I followed the instructions and can't seem to get it to work.
I know that the Bionix-V ROM comes with the stock gingerbread keyboard, do I have to delete that one to install the other one? I'm just worried that it will get deleted and I cannot re-install and.
Thanks in advance!
I believe you do have to delete the original first but before you do copy it to ur sd just in case it doesn't work. Don't forget to reboot after you remove and install

Yes. The next update I post (at least for my mods of them) will automatically remove the original before applying the update.
Sounds good, I will delete the original Gingerbread Keyboard.apk and flash your mod. Will keep a look at your post for the update!

I released an updated Blackout Green yesterday in the original MTM thread. It's near the end. You can also just find the Gingerbread Blackout link in my signature and find it there.
Just starting work on the rest of the colors as it appears no issues have been found with what little changes I have made.
Just an fyi... im using the blackout red gb kb... i just went in with super manager and renamed the stock one and then pushed the blackout (just to make sure if it didnt take i wouldnt lose the stock one too) and all is good and this keyboard is SWEET

[Q]

im on GSB 1.9v has anyone found a way to flash a different keyboard the gb on it is slow ?

I've had no problems with "htc_ime_lowres22_experimental.zip" on every Eris ROM I've tried since 2.1; Eclair/Froyo/Gingerbread. I haven't tested it on GSB v1.9, but I am using it on GSB v1.6, and can't recall a single (Eris) ROM that it did not work on.
BTW, I think the "22" in the name is because it was first built for Froyo - I think it is a derivative of jonasl's V26 keyboard.
You can find a flashable version at this XDA post.
If you would prefer to not "flash" that zip, you can instead just unpack the zip file and just manually side-load the two .apk files inside the zip. ( Clicker.apk and HTC_IME_lo22.apk; I think you are supposed to install Clicker.apk first ). Note that you need to enable it after installation in Settings -> Language and keyboard
I don't think it is dangerous at all; but if you want to be safe make a Nandroid backup first.
bftb0
thanks man ill try it out
Check out gimpsta.com
You can design a custom HTC keyboard. I've made a dozen of them. Works really well with gsb1.9
Same kb as already recommended by bftb0, but make your own! (Select color theme). You will still need to add clicker.apk for calibration to work.
Select low res and the default v27 , 1.6+

A: Be sure you are on 2.3.4 SBF, and you just need to flash the latest version, wipe data & cache.
Q: My wifi is not working what do i do?
A: If your wifi is not working there is a good chance you were not on 2.3.4 prior to flashing.
Q: I installed and then proceeded to "tweak" my system by editing build.prop and other system files. Now things are not working correctly, where did i go wrong?
A: Please do not ?!uck with your system after install. I cannot be responsible for any "tweaks" you have made. Please revert all "tweaks" or do a fresh install and test the system prior to your "tweaks" before filing a report.

Transparent lockscreen is not a big deal my friend.. you just need to edit one image.
What image?
What I have found most about the update to 2.3.4 is the phones ability to find open 3g towers and switch between then seamlessly. On 2.3.3 no matter what rom I was on my phones reception and 3g tower access was always weak. I think the software updated the way the internal radio operates.... Just my thoughts on it

Known Issues
A) Not an issue so to speak but certain menu items will cause a crash if you have not installed the additional apps, i.e faceunlock, or help file etc not a bug just the benefits of slim rom, but you probably wont come across it, Video player has odd dependancies
Tips and Tricks
1) Give yourself Developer Mode - Click Build Properties in about device until it tells you success
2) Turn animations to .5x instead of x1
3) Folder Mount works perfectly if you have it backedup when you open just pin the apps (after you install them before you open them)

thering1975 In the local forum i participate in some people flashed I9205 based rom onto their I9200 devices, taking the modem file (NON-HLOS.bin) out of the firmaware, an this worked fine. As an option it's also possible to remove the kernel and recovery from the firmware and in this case you won't get the two red lines after flashing. I guess your rom can be flashed to the i9200 in this way also?

For the moment the modem is removed as ia the kernel.
No recovery is included as no cuatom kernel or cwm is done yet.
As for will it work on i9200 I cant say in theory I cant see why not as long as the partition table matches but alas im not going to recommend it so try at your risk.

Congratulations! This is officially the first custom ROM for the Galaxy Mega 6.3. I'm sure this will be the best ROM just like with my original Note. Hopefully the issues with CWM and root will be ironed out soon. I am not bothered with AROMA as long as I get the slimmest ROM possible with rock solid stability. All the extras can be put in a separate file for those who want them.
So with Foldermount, is this correct?
* Do a backup of the mounts in the app
* No need to put the data back into phone storage
* After installing custom ROM, install apps that use foldermount
* Before opening the apps, restore foldermount data
Is the default phone storage bigger in this ROM? Thanks for all the hard work

I see, I just need to back everything using Titanium backup and restore them like usual. I deleted most bloatware manually and currently I get almost 900MB RAM free. The only Samsung app I use is the Watch On to use the remote control function of the Mega. Keep up the excellent work :highfive:
Use tb sparingly it can be a pain I restore data only.
Foldrrmount has its own backup in its settings I think. The app data is on your sd card so once pinned all good

I use Titanium backup a lot since some of my apps did not come from the Play store. Anyway, I will wait for the non-beta version as I am currently happy with my setup and tweaks. :good:

Is this required or recommended? How different is this ROM to a stock ROM?
