Using an HP TouchPad Bluetooth Keyboard & Logitech Wireless M305 mouse.
Confirming any bluetooth keyboard works. And most somewhat newer USB wireless devices work. Love this setup, the keyboard feels practically full-size. Also, the majority of keyboard shortcuts (eg. CTRL+C, CTRL+V, CTRL+X) work in most apps.
I also have no problems connecting most USB Flash Drives/HDDs to the TPT as long as they are formatted to FAT32.
Hope this helps and is in the correct thread.

Im using a KEYSONIC ACK-540 BT with Touchpanel.
it works fine

[Q] Anyone experiencing HDMI Bluetooth lag?

I've posted in other threads about lag i've been experiencing (here, here and here).
As soon as i enable HDMI out the bluetooth keyboard and mouse start lagging and stuttering very badly. This happens with mirror mode (NON-Mod) or Webtop via Nebtop (Root App) or Fenny's mod(replacement APKs). I've run the fastboot on my phone to bring it back to non root stock and i've updated to the 748 VZW OTA update but i still get this issue even just using mirror mode.
Could someone else test this with their RAZR? I'd like to know if it's something defective with my device or with all RAZRs.
The reproduction steps are simple:
1. Pair a bluetooth HID Mouse or Keyboard
2. Connect the input device
3. Connect HDMI
4. Choose output mode (Webtop via hack or Mirror mode with no hacks required)
5. Try to type a text or move the mouse pointer around
I've tried this with different Monitors and televisions and also with different bluetooth mice and keyboards. I haven't found a combination which works smoothly yet. I also posted this issue in the Motorola owners forum. Not too much response there quite yet.
Thanks for the help if anyone can provide it!
I have just ordered my mini HDMI cable. It should be in on weekend so i will keep you posted on my results.
Got my dock station today and will be getting a Bluetooth keyboard in a couple days. I will report back as well.
UPDATE _ Been using the dock station with a Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard and a really cheap USB wireless mouse. The keyboard has no lag at all but the mouse lags a bit depending on what app is running or which dock mode I'm using. I've found that certain games and apps run with less lag in Web top mode and some work better on HDMI mirror mode. I messed with the mouse settings in Web top mode to make it more responsive but it still takes some getting used to. I don't think it's unuseable, but I can see noticeable lag that you have to compensate for.

Same issue on occasion
I have had this happen a few times. I am not sure what is causing it. I will reply back if I have anything further to add.
I don't have a bluetooth mouse or keyboard, but I have noticed a similar delay when playing games via HDMI using a sixaxis or wii controller.
Works fine for me.
Tested with stock UK razr rooted. Nebtop app and apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse. Although mouse behaves weird unless you set up the click rate and sensitivity.
same applies to mirror mode.
I guess its your keyboard/mouse that is causing trouble. Try different set of gear or change batteries.
Hope it helps
That's weird, i tried someone else's logitech bluetooth mouse and got the same issue. It was a mouse only, no keyboard or headphones this time and still had the issues.
I have the same problem. just purchased a dell bluetooth mouse and the apple bluetooth keyboard. they work great in the phone. But once in webtop mode, there is lag. I am using a quality HDMI cable, but use a rocketfish HDMI to DVI converter to the monitor. wondering if that is the issue.?

Bluetooth Mouse & Keyboard Reccommendations?

Im looking to get a portable mouse and keyboard for my Galaxy Tab 7.7 to carry around with me as travelling companions. Keyboard needs to be compact and portable but with good feedback and all the right buttons. Any particular recommendations?
Hi,
I'd be interested in anyone's experiences with this as well. Anyone?
Note: my tab is not rooted or modded in anyway.
Here are the bluetooth devices i tried.
(Mouse)
Logitech v470 bluetooth mouse for netbooks
Apple Magic mouse
(Keyboard)
Apple Wireless Keyboard
Here are the results:
Apple Magic mouse - Does not work at all. (it does pair, and display as a input device.. but no cursor or response will work)
v470 bluetooth mouse - Works very well, shows up as Bluetooth Laser Travel Mouse.
Apple Wireless keyboard - Type on the stock browser lag, and it cause my attached v470 to lag as well! .. right now i do not know it is a keyboard issue or the bluetooth on the tab that cause this.
So i guess i might go get a logitech bluetooth keyboard for tablet to try it out
Thanks electro.
To add and answer my own question.
I am typing this on a Microsoft "Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 7000", which includes a touchpad. Both elements work a treat.
Is there a way to get a bluetooth keyboard/mouse to connect to the Tab without using the dongle? I~ ask because the tab would be a great replacement for my media PC under the TV if only I could attache the HDMI and get bluetooth to work with HIDs at the same time... As it is HDMI requires a pass-through in the power lead so there is no way to attach the bluetooth dongle. It is more than a little annoying that my £100 cheapo tab has seperate USB and HDMI connection and can do just this!

Aha! Found a way to do it! Just connect your bluetooth HID devices without using the dongle... It's obvious really when you think about it.
Anyway, I managed to do this with the above keyboard/mouse using an app on the Market which allows you to do just that - Bluetooth Keyboard Easyconnect. You tab needs to be rooted and the instructions are not necessarily clear. If you do try it, to connect you need to go back to the standard bluetooth interface, make you HID discoverable (push the button?) and then scan for bluetooth devices. Once it is found and you pair you then need to go back to the app and select the HID in there as well.
So now I have a nice extremely small media pc (but not) under the TV. Films, music, internet, work all there and controlled from my sofa.

They have newer versions of what I have, (RT-MWK02), but mine works really well. Very easy to pair up. Compact and light.
Typing does take a little bit getting use to but once you do, it works out great.
Haven't have any issues. Touch pad is real nice.
I've picked it up on Amazon.

Bluetooth HID functionality

This is something I always look for in my phones, maybe im one of few . I can say that HID profiles are supported and have tested with a portable bluetooth keyboard which works perfectly- no connection issues dropouts or weird quirks. I also tested out my bluetooth mouse which also paired without a problem, however its use was not ideal (but thats ok). There was no mouse cursor so it was awkward trying to select or click. The mouse was more like and external bluetooth finger if that that makes sense. The mouse like the finger and the table like the screen. I guess functionality of bluetooth mice wasn't really a large concern if at all. But id say good enough especially for the keyboard
Stock 2.3.4
I have been able to use a Bluetooth mouse on ics, and it does show a cursier. Now all I need is a mhl adapter and I'm going to start using this thing as my desktop

Tab S4 and DeX

Hi all,
I'm looking into buying a Tab S4, particularly because of its DeX function.
Can anyone confirm whether the Tab S4 works with the DeX pad, or just the USB-C to HDMI cable?
I'm wondering whether it would be possible to use it with the pad to connect a wireless mouse and keyboard receiver, rather than having to rely on Bluetooth direct to the tablet.
Thanks,
J
It i's working even without an external screen.
For DEX I use most of the time the screen miroring through wifi, easy.
Yes, there is an option to put it into dex mode without any external attachments. It only works in landscape mode though. I wish it worked in portrait mode too. I love dex and would use it exclusively.
It works flawlessly...
From what I've read it works with the DeX pad but you may encounter the error "Close cover to enable DeX Mode". If you don't have a Samsung cover the easiest way out is to go to Amazon and purchase a 7-1 or 8-1 hub. A search here should return you some links.
Just as a note, most HDMI to usb c adaptors include usb ports, and Logitech universal receivers work off them. I've used a Logitec K750 Keyboard + Anywhere MX mouse (synced to the same universal receiver). The caveat is that the logitech unifying software is not available on Android. You need to link the receiver, mouse and keyboard on a pc, and then they work on the tablet. If you want to change linked devices, you need to go back to the pc. I did notice one of the mice I tried was overly sensative, so some mice may work better than others.
Has anyone tried using Microsoft Remote Desktop Client app on this tablet? I want to know if the right click button works. Please tell me that it does I'll be really really happy. I really want to buy this tablet but I can't justify the cost unless I can use it for work instead of buying a laptop.
This really should be a new topic / new thread but...
Yes, I use MS Remote Desktop to access my work computer from home. Usually, I use the onscreen keyboard and touchscreen, which can be awkward.
But I just hooked up my USB keyboard and Bluetooth mouse, and both work fine with Remote Desktop. Right click works.
One disclaimer - I usually use MS Remote Desktop Beta, which is currently crashing every time I try to run it. I installed the released version of MS Remote Desktop and had no issues. So you might want to stay away from the RD Beta version.

Help with mouse and controller.

Bought a bluetooth mouse a year or so ago and had no luck on my original Tab S. Having got the new S4 i thought surely it would work after all the progress with android, but no such luck it still connects starts fine then the stuttering lag is back. Also though i had hit the jackpot when i downloaded a couple of good games only to find out that a PS4 controller does pretty much the same thing. Dont mind forking out for some new ones just wondered if anyone knows of ones that actually work so i dont end up paying for two more items that dont work. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
It could be the age of your mouse / blue tooth implementation. I have a Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth mouse that works with my laptop but has never been able to connect properly to Android devices -- either my original Tab S2, my S7 Edge phone, or my Tab S4 -- it looks in settings like it connects, but never kicks out of "searching" mode on the mouse. The Android device thinks it is connected, but it is not.
I've had no issues on the Tab S4 with USB mice, Logitech RF mice (MX Anywhere) and Logitech Bluetooth mice (MX Anywhere 2). I've also had no problems with wired USB keyboards or Logitech RF keyboards. I'm currently using a Logitech bluetooth K380 keyboard. I had an out-of-the-box problem with key mapping of symbols being mixed up, but was able to fix it in keyboard settings. There were multiple "physical keyboards" in settings, and two of them were "English (UK)". When I changed them all to "English (US)" the mapping issues went away.
For Logitech RF mice and keyboards, you need to pair the rf usb dongle to the mouse / keyboard devices using Logitech software on a pc before attaching the rf dongle to the Tab S4.
So my current combo of an MX Anywhere 2 bt mouse and K380 bt keyboard is awesome.
My only "complaint" is that the mouse is a generation old and doesn't support Logitech's new cross platform system that let's you copy/paste from one device to another. Sounds like an awesome feature to copy from your laptop and paste into the tablet. I hate replacing devices that work, but this may be a good feature to have.
Good luck,
Joe

As far as game controllers go, do a search and you'll find a thread I started on them. I'm using an 8bitdo Bluetooth controller that works very well. A Google search should get you info on original PS4 controllers and whether they should work with Android. I searched for "PS4 controller android" and the first hit at Android Central said they were flaky / buggy and not recommended.
