I just picked up a Wintec Filemate Identity 7 inch tablet with Froyo 2.2 installed on it. I have rooted the device using Z4root. I am now trying to figure out if there are any Gingerbread roms that I could install on this tablet. Any information you guys/gals may have would be great, if you could share.
I have searched all over the Internet trying to find any roms, including all over XDA-Developers, and I am not finding to much at all.
Would this tablet be the same as the Z9 Blade? I know its the same as the Enspert Identity tablet. The version I have is not the Light, its the regular model with the full Arm Cortex A8 1 ghz processor.
Thanks,
Bryan
Any body got any ideas on this?
I'm looking for the same thing. I'm also rooted with z4root and haven't been able to find a single piece of anything as far as development on this device. I'll favorite this thread and post any info i find. If you find anything post it here. I'm sure there are plenty of others out there looking for the same thing. This is a really nice device and i got it from Walmart for less than $200. I hope some of my favorite devs pic this one up. Have you figured out anything as far as a custom recovery for this device?

Everywhere i look it says it's a Samsung capacitive based tablet. Does this mean you can flash clockworkmod recovery in ROM manager under Samsung capacitive? I'm scared to try it. Let me know if you do.

I've got a Wintec Filemate coming for the wife and would be interested to know the same thing. This tablet is probably not popular enough for someone to write a ROM for it.
I hope it grows in popularity. It should, it's incredibly smooth and such good quality for the price. I've had quite a few tablets from Walmart and took them all back because of lag and freezing issues. I was really surprised when i got this one and it functioned so well. We need someone to donate one to one of these good devs on here. I wish i had them means to do it.

Thanks for the root guide. Are there any ROMs that can be loaded on this device?
Just poking in to say that I, as well, own this device and am curious if there's a Gingerbread rom somewhere out there for it. The device is advertised as being "2.3 ready" so if anybody knows exactly how to make that happen, I and the other people and the thread would be very grateful.
RE: Roms
I searched high and low and no roms or even recovery is available for the Filemate Identity tab.
These e201u tablets are actually made by Enspert out of Korea. Wintec just puts a sticker over the Enspert name and resells them at a higher price. I bought 4 of them as xmas gifts for a steal at $129 each (on black Friday) from dynamism.com. Not a bad tablet at all once it's rooted. Nice to see others feel the same way. It would be sweet if a new rom could be made as they are running Froyo 2.2. The identitytab.com site has the kernel.tar and e201.img file available if that would help anyone out there.
nothing yet anyone??

There are a few variants of the 'original' S7 and the more recently released S7 Slim. First has a resistive screen second has a capacitive.
It is rumoured that they are identical inside so any accessories (should they appear!) will work on both.
Just make sure you have Android 2.2.2 or above.
I really hope the slim gets accesories but the support from huawei is horrible so i wouldnt hold my breath

I thought they were both the same? IDEAOS that is.. Only new one was the slim?
I was thinking about getting a Huawei tablet. They're relatively cheap and I'd think they'd be alright for general use. Was doing some research and they're different? Have they been rooted yet?
Yes, i rooted mine half an hour ago infact! I did a writeup sometime ago, however i cant post it due to low post count, or post links so info is lost!

Rooted and upgraded to Android 2.2.2 (Froy) they become a great tablet.
Unlocked ROM, flash enabled, 1gHz CPU unlocked, Apps2sd, more sensitive screen, OTG support for USB host, and cheap!
Can you tell me how you did it?
Hello,
I recently got an S7 Slim. It is a great device, especially for the price point. My only complaint is that the BB version does not come with an active SIM slot. Who knew?
Can you tell me how you rooted your Slim? I have tried oneclick z4 and universal and have not been able to get access.
Thanks

What do you mean? The BB version's SIM slot is fully active.
However the baseband radio firmware that ships with the device has SEVERE bugs that cause the cellular radio to fail in many circumstances. For me, the device only worked in towers with the same area code as my SIM.
The Froyo (2.2) ROMs had new baseband firmware that fixed most if not all of these problems. USA customers never officially saw them, but the Indonesian 2.2 ROM works well on our devices - look at joenilan's ROM in the Development section, it has a link to the Indo 2.2 update.
Edit: Sorry, ooops, missed that you had a Slim and not the original S7. Yeah, I don't believe the Slim has any 3G capability.
Thanks for the response, I also figured out how to root my device successfully! What should I do next?

Hello,
Since there is many random threads but nothing is official. I am opening one official thread so all concerns about this great tablet can be questioned and answered here
Go Go Go!
1) Anyone knows how soon custom Android 3 / Honyecomb Rom expected to be released for T8?
2) I dont get it...for a week i got convinced by web that T8 as newest model more advanced, better...etc...then T2. So i spent today online 600$ + 49USD DHL express to get this beast as good investment for long time (assuming its best tablet with power which can handle long term demands...)
Now some weird finding...
ZPAD T2:
Under web sote of MALATA!
They say: hardware 3D acceleration
BUT on ZPAD T8 they say nothing about 3D:
in other hand both says Tegra 2 T20....
Confusing and frustrating....
Please help me understand what i am missing here
Other question, Since no one was willing attach GPS module with t8-3g i ordered...Any one knows if I can use GPS usb dongle from dealextreme as GPS for t8-3g?
Thanks!
zpad T8
One subscriber more here.
As soon as I heard still is not built the GPS model, anyway in my case I bought a Bluetooth antena cost 60€ aprox (was not the cheapes one) and I installed blue4gps and I got it running perfectly, I'm realy suprised as is sincronasing satelites and having and amazing coverage all better than my tomtom wich I payes one year ago 250€ per it.
I got some small problem with google market as I can not get a lot of aplications from there, but downloading from a diferent place are running perfectly.
Of course you need to delete a lot of things and install some other but as I expected before order my ztab T8.
What I really miss is to have phone functions included on the phone in order to run some app like whatsup or make a direct call from a website from isntance.
Another big thing I miss and I hope someone will help me is that I was not able to install voice search (google) is giving me a error during isntallation and not able to make it work.
Really I'm more interested into have 2.3 than 3.0 as sure are more aplications for it, 3.0 I guess is still too early to be interesting.
I already downloaded a 2.3.4 rom from Ezpad but I think is not working for 3G or something should be done for make it run and as I don't have it clear because of the bad translations from google or babelfish I still had not tested.
Also want some info if someone already installed CWM, in any case I installed titunium backup and made a update.zip of my app to restore it easily if is the case...
3D aceleration.... I had once one error telling me was not 3D aceleration and not allowing me to instal sygic, later one I download it from a diferent place and I'm running the latest version without problem, just a comment... amazing street navitation presentation, what a grafics....
for rooting just install Z4root.
Thats all for now folks, hope to join more people and share experience for getting profit of this great tablet.
Just one think I bout it for about 350€ shipping included from hotmid.com without leathercase and screen protector neither, If somebody is thinking on buyiing this model I strongly recomend try to get some goot price from them as I was not able to get it cheaper anywhere.
Regards
David

Any information on rooting the Samsung Conquer 4G released by Sprint recently? I'm planning on picking one up this week as soon as the return of my broken MoPho is processed and I'd like to root it as soon as I get it..
I would be interested in this also, might finally convince my wife to ditch her palm pre for this little device
i've got one on the way, if anyone needs a hand testing anything. root would be awesome! it's a nice little device.
I'm on day 2 with a new Conquer - would love to see someone post a way to root it.
I am hoping to find a Root method for this guy also, here is the review i posted about it for my wife.
Conquer 4G Review
i've tried a lot of the general root methods, even tried just doing some experimentation, no dice. 2.3.4 might be a mofo to crack, but you'd think with source being released, someone would come up with a way.
2.3.4 has been rooted on the Motorola Photon 4g (MoPho) so doing it on the conquer should be no problem. I'd do it myself but I have no idea how.
Damn, this does not bode well. Was thinking about going with this phone over an HTC Evo Shift 4G since it has a faster processor and more RAM, but the lack of root and the apparent lack of interest in community support makes me lean the other way.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
will the z4 root app work
has anyone tried it because i get mine tomorrow and im plan on trying
no not tried yet i also need to know about it ???????
br
Still no root that i can find, ive tried all known methods with no success.
Can't seem to find anyone doing anything to this phone.
Any news from anywhere?
Is there any news from anywhere? Concerning this phone.
I would love to get my conquer rooted. Willing to test anything devs can come up with.

Now just need some ROMs for it
This phone is being released for Virgin Mobile and Sprint. I think it needs a forum. Thanks.
I agree. It looks like good device. Got one for my wife and may be getting one for myself. Oh, and just FYI, the CPU is clocked at 1024mhz. This has been confirmed with Quandrant Standard, Antutu Benchmark, and CPU Monitor.
Agreed!
I just purchased one and so far am quite impressed! I like the small size too!
Bump for the forum

Another bump for the request, love mine.
I have the Elite as well. Really digging it and hoping to see some dev action for it. I am missing titanium backup a lot.

BUMP...this phone NEEDS support....Please!!!!
Really liking this phone, I would like to see some support for this phone as well.
Bump for forum.
I am sure once root is found for it, a forum will be created! Let's hope so anyways. Just upgraded from the Optimus V and and very happy with it so far!!

Hope this happens soon. I've been busy rooting my friends phones but can't get mine done. Need to get into those programming classes so I can do this myself.
Root work going on at android forums I believe. Dunno the status however. hope this happens soon, missing cm9
Bump. Almost a month since first request...
A root is now live courtesy of jcase at android police.
I simply helped out with the flashing as well as finding the MSL.
The MSL can be found by first doing ##DATA# then entering two false spcs, letting it restart, then going through QPST Memory Debug via download mode (hold down the volume rocker then plug the usb cable in)
getting regions (in specific you need to look at ebi0_cs0.bin) and look near HEX offset 07496A80. You can assume that you will need to pull it many times if the garbage writes over valid numbers.
A much more layman explanation is listed over at android central but I don't go there anymore and no longer wish to provide support. Once bitten, no thanks.
It seems xda is a much more developer/tech geek friendly site and I sincerely hope they will consider the Optimus Elite as a good phone for development.
I also would like to see a forum for this one. I just replaced my wife's Optimus V with an Elite and was pretty impressed with the little phone when setting it up for her. I may look at getting one myself when my contract's up. For the price and monthly cost it is a fantastic package.

I honestly deon't believe that anybody has taken the time to configure a 6.0 rom for this phone. I had plans to get some compiling done myself for it but hadn't got around to it yet. i hopefully will be looking into it within the next few weeks, after i port either cwm or twrp to the Phablet.
Really?
Sweet! Definitely keep me posted on that I would love to see some progress on this for sure. Being that the blu studio 7.0 II is still fairly a new device I would of thought someone would of developed something by now. I guess no one really cares because it ain't a SAMSUNG. lol

Perhaps I can help you. I have compiled android from source one before but I didn't do anything to the code, just issued "make" and waited. I really didn't explore the code. I would like to understand the different parts in an android build and understand where device specific information goes. That said, I am by no means green. I veteran of bash and vi from the "build your own kernel" Slackware era and more embarrassing relics before that. So, if you can use the help, just outline the process you follow as it would likely be the same for other devices. Flowchart it and assign squares to me. Then I could learn how it all fits together. If there is anything at all I can do to contribute, please let me know. I was considering a Blue Studio 7, but I want to learn regardless of what I might get.
Thanks
Really looking forward to this. Being that this device is starting to slow down on me extremely, I think a marshmallow update would straighten this phone out.

only other option is this
(need to register and pay-maybe for a month access and initial download limit sufficient for one device-need correct drivers and flash tools)
http://clangsm.com/ftpdemo/index.php?dir=Flashes/BLU/
similar thing happened with me recently on BLU Studio 7 LTE version (stuck on BLU Android start screen)
did factory reset did not work
ended up returning to vendor (BLU support had only factory reset as option and advised item was under warranty so told me to send it back)
have a new one now...planning to extract system and system dump (do not want similar situation again or pay a 1/3 cost for the rom zip) (not sure if possible but will try; know it can be rooted)
works great though

Any progress been made on this? I'd love to install a custom MM rom on my Blu Studio 7.0 LTE. Thanks for all you're doing!
+1 on this. I have a Studio 7 LTE in the mail and would love to be able to upgrade it somehow. I'm not quite technical enough to make a ROM but I am highly technically inclined if I can help in any way.
It says here that the studio 7 devices are getting Nougat. Anyone think there is any truth to it? I tweeted Blu and asked them if it was going to happen but haven't heard back yet. Kinda skeptical
I just received this reply from when I asked if this phone will get nougat
my blu phone
how can i update it to marshmallow!please help! thank you!
Thanks guys! This effort is greatly appreciated, and it looks like we will need to DIY a build for the Blu phones. I am in a similar bind as the rest of you. My company decided to cheap out on test devices (I pushed for the also inexpensive Nexus varieties), rather than go the normal route of using an emulator. I am a Project Manager by trade, and I have programming experience (primarily web with various PHP frameworks). My previous/current secondary test device was a rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running an international version of DU with TWRP. If we have any traction, l am happy to assist, and I love learning new things. On my agenda right now is giving myself a crash course on Android Studio and its associated MVC to start my own project in case this one loses traction.
Find it rather odd, this device is still on 5.0 and king root or kingo root can not root it. Am I missing something or is BLU bootloader just as robust as Samsung??
