streaming audio question - HTC Rezound

I listen to either iheart radio or sirius online radio all day at work.
With all my previous phones, when a phone call comes in the streaming audio mutes and it switches to the call then automatically goes back to streaming when the call end.
Today, I got a call at work while listening to Sirius & I clicked the answer button on the Beats earbuds to answer it. The call connected, but the streaming audio did not mute and I could not hear the call. I had to hang up & call the person back.
Is my phone defective, or is there a setting I am missing??
~John

I don't have my headphones available to test but I'd imagine it has something to do with the streaming radio app not being developed with the beats remote headphones in mind. I'm sure if.someone mentions this to the apps dev an update will roll out eventually.

Well, I found a "headset control app" in the market that fixes the problem so I guess that will work for now.

I had this happen to me the other day with Slacker and I was like wtf? It made me laugh.

Music skips via bluetooth

Hi, is there a resolution to my HTC EVO 3D skipping (more like it stops playing then resumes in about a second or 2) my music via my Bluetooth motorcycle helmet. I did not have this issue with my HTC Hero.
I have the same problem, or issue...i have a ChatterBox GMRS X1 Bluteooth that I use to listen to music while riding to work. Mine skips just like yours every once and a while and I have come up with the to the following conslusions
1) The OTA update that I have not applied sets off a ringtone every so often, this cuts out music for a second then returns - this is by far the most repetitive reason I can come up with
2) Incoming Text Messages play a ringtone, thus cutting out the music for about 2 seconds, then returning to normal.
3) Incoming Phone Calls - this again plays a ringtone and cuts my music out for about 10 seconds, then returns to playing normal.
4) When using Pandora vs. my music library...driving 60 miles up 95 I tend to loose signal or "hop" a lot, so my 3G will cut out for a second or it will re-buffer the song, then play again.
Those reasons above are all what I've noticed when listening to music via bluetooth. I do not use a bluetooth headset for phone calls, I've never liked them. Also, if you take away 1-3 and I listen to my music library on my SD card, I've never had my bluetooth cut out or skip. Hope this info helps.

mine skips to on my blue ant t1,just holding it or sitting next to it on the table and it skipd when im listening to my music, thought it was the mp3 missing data from downloading but its not...anyone have any other idea's or maybe know how to fix this proplem?
I also have this problem. I am using the Nokia BH-214. Every once in a while it freezes and resumes after about half a second.
I'm using a Plantronics Backbeat 903 and have the same issue. Didn't have this before on my E4G.
I really hoping that HTC fixes this issue since It's really an inconvenience when listening to music in that manner.

Same problem intermittently via arctic sound p311.
No problems with my jawbone. Any ideas?
works fine in 2011 sonata and my plantronics headset
same here...skipped a lot when I was at the golfing range. never had that problem with my hero using my jawbone icon
I've been having this same issue using the Plantronics Backbeat 903+. It almost seems like somehow the G sensor is causing the interference. If my phone is sitting on the desk, it plays without a problem, even if I am walking around. If I am carrying my phone though, it pauses, unless I keep my phone level. Could that possibly be affecting it?
Could be since I was on my motorcycle when it was pause and skip, but when I was not moving it was fine.

Download Headset Blocker from the market, it's a widget so you have to turn it on if you don't want music to skip when the headphones are plugged in. Hope it helps

Notice it happens when I hold the phone upsidedown, then it would stop playing music for a second or two, then start again.

playing music via Bluetooth?

Has anyone gotten this phone to work playing music through your car stereo through Bluetooth?
I'm paired fine and calls come through stereo, but music still comes through phone speaker. My gf isn't around atm or i'd ask her(she got her HD7 to do bluetooth music on my stereo).
I at least know that once it's paired, it's a phone setting.
I have mine paired with my Sony Bluetooth car stereo and it plays fine. I did have one instance where it played through the phone speaker but it corrected itself the next day.

There should be an option depending on what music player you are using to determine what output you are using. Kinda like if you had a bluetooth earbud, you wouldn't want to play music through it, just receive your calls through it.

So all you did was just pair, started music player, then it automatically went through Bluetooth?
No matter what I do, it just keeps going through phone speaker(only calls go through Bluetooth). I've tried with default music player and poweramp.
I don't have anything bluetooth to try, but there are no options at all to choose output path either in BT or Music player?

Under advanced Bluetooth options there is one labeled FTP Server which I believe you need to have on in order to stream music. Hmm... Tried turning Bluetooth on and off on both the phone and stereo, even rebooted phone. Blah!

When you pair a headset that is stereo capable, it will pair to 2 things, phone audio and media. Have you tried to unpair and pair and see if that fixes it?
I have paired my Rezound with a set of bluetooth stereo headphones and also with my car stereo. I have noticed that the media audio connection is intermittent. It always *says* that it is connected to media audio, but sometimes the sound comes out of my phone speaker anyhow. I have not figured out how to fix this. It seems to happen randomly (more frequently with my car stereo than with the headphones, but it has happened with both). All I can recommend is to go into a Disconnect/Unpair/Pair/Connect loop until you get it to work. It might also help to power cycle your phone. I just did that last night and it paired and connected properly with my car stereo this morning.
This all of course assumes you have checked "Media" under the options screen for the device with which you are pairing.

If it behaves like any other Android phone, when it links up to a bluetooth connection with the audio profile enabled, it should automatically route it's sound to bluetooth, there's no setting in the music player to toggle that.

My car has the option for bluetooth media and when I sync'd the phone to the car last night for the first time it worked flawlessly I didn't have to to anything special. I don't think it's a problem with the phone, maybe the car stereo?
I suspect the phone since I've seen the same intermittent problem both with my car stereo and my headphones. Plus I never had any problem with my original Droid with both those devices.

Update: did a plain old pair with the HTC HD7 again and the music came through the stereo just fine. Tried again with the Rezound and still keeps going through the phone speakers. Oh well... My fault for trusting HTC.. ;P

[Q] Bluetooth distortion on calls/voice but not A2DP Music

I paired up my Note with my new Belkin A2Dp Car kit and found that I am not able to control the bluetooth volume for the phone/voice profile.
Voice input sounds distorted as does any voice going out to the speakers. In calls the person I am calling sounds distorted and they say I do also. Obviously voice commands are useless as the phoe cannot identify what I am saying properly due to the distortion.
It's as if the mic-boost is blasted all the way up for the voice call bluetooth profile, is this the same issue of Samsung's crap BT stack that they never seem to fix?
I tried using an App called A2DP volume to force volume settings on connect but they have no effect on the BT in call volume, even the volume rocker on the phone does nothing during a call.
I dont see any volume or mic controls on my bluetooth device as it is a car-kit.
The music audio quality over A2DP is excellent and not distorted at all.
Joel
Anyone? Surely other people are using BT headsets and car kits with their note?

Yep the A2DP profile is clear and sounds great, as I said in my post, but the phone call profile is distorted and blown out, adjusting the volume on the phone seems to have no effect on this profile.

I had a similar problem with a Kenwood player once. I had to update the player from the Kenwood site to fix it.
I think it's a bit outdated, but did you manage to fix it?
I have this belkin device and the same volume call issue (can't use it for calling). Tried with the phones in my signature and with an iphone 4s and get this issue with both. Only with an iphone 3g I could control volume successfully. Maybe it's only compatible with apple devices. iphone 4 doesn't work because ios5 disabled bluetooth call volume control.
It's too disappointing..
Bluetooth Distortion
Hi there. I upgraded my SGS i9000 to Jellybean JRO03L recently - latest build is excellent. However, Bluetooth call quality is distorted as per Griffindodd but ADP2, although relative quiet is very good.
Can't figure out what options I have.
Have the same issue in terms of controlling car music volume on the dashboard, but haven't noticed call quality, just got the a2dp application and will let everyone know how it works
Update: didn't work, still can't adjust volume via dash
Sent from the Jelly Way Galaxy
still nobody has any solution for this?
Sent from the Jelly Way Galaxy
figured out a work around for myself, so I found that when playing through Apollo I could control the volume on dash but not while playing Pandora and others, so what ended up working is loading both, pausing Pandora, playing Apollo to get volume control, then holding down the back button to kill Apollo(make sure this is enabled in developer options in phone settings), then Pandora should start playing again all by itself and still have volume control.

[Q] Problem with Bluetooth phone

Hello all,
I am having a problem getting the phone part of my new DNA to work with blue-tooth in my car. The A2DP works great but after I answer or make a phone call with my Car Stereo (eclipse 3200) I cant hear anything and they cant hear me. If I use the dial-pad on the phone to make a call I hear the tones from the button pushes but nothing after the call is connected.
Thanks for any help or suggestions

My car recognizes and pairs with the DNA, but it will only play the first 1-2 seconds of music, then the radio stops receiving any audio. Sometimes it works properly and will play songs completely, but the majority of the time, it will cut out. I can pause and unpause it, and I'll get 1-2 seconds of music, then it stops again.
Also, any high pitched sounds (ie. cymbals, percussion, etc.) are very distorted. I had this same issue on the Thunderbolt The Galaxy Nexus I had for the past year had no issues and sounded perfect over bluetooth.
I am disappoint.

I think the phone just has bluetooth problems in general, or BT4 is just not 100% backwards compatible. I have a Pioneer stereo, and never had any problems with any of my android devices (OG Droid, Droid X, inc2 and gNex) connecting, but when I connect my DNA, it actually crashes the phone process on the handset and it restarts (the process, not the handset). It still appears to be connected to the stereo after that, but I haven't tried making a call yet.
Stereo doesn't support BT streaming, so I can't test that. Has an SD slot, and that's all I ever use.
I'm having the same problem. My music will play for about 3 seconds, then goes silent. The car says I'm still connected, Google Music is still playing, but it mutes out. Was having fun while driving hitting the pause/play button to listen to a song 3 seconds at a time. Does anyone know if this is a OS problem, hardware problem or incompatibility, or other problem? I didn't see many posts about this elsewhere and haven't heard back from Verizon.

For all of us who suffer a HTC Toyota combo and the dreaded bluetooth pause issue I believe I have found the issue and got a working solution !
From what I gather, the HTC music player sets the bluetooth player state to pause when leaving the music player and most other apps do not set it back to streaming. I found one which does, so a simple solution !
1. Start and stop a piece of music with the Fplay music player and it will reset the bluetooth player state to streaming. I put a widget on the home screen.
2. Start your other apps and enjoy streaming sound again.
3. Enjoy

Bluetooth streaming in car won't work

First android phone I've had that has this issue.
I have my phone paired with my car's OEM bluetooth (confirmed by my car), but everytime I try and stream a song it still plays through my phone speaker instead of my car, even though my car shows it playing. I've used 5 other android phones with my car with zero issues. Any ideas?
With the sim card issue and now this, I'm thinking of returning this phone.
I have no problems whatsoever. What rom are you running? Details?

I'd say its a simple menu option on the phone. Mine is perfectly happy to play music and navigation instructions through the Bluetooth. Are you able to make/receive calls through Bluetooth?

Only one of two things I can think of:
- You get into the car with another device connected with AVRCP capabilities, and it's taking priority over your car's media audio connection. Thus, you're left with the car connected to phone audio, and your bluetooth headphones/Jambox/etc. playing music. HOwever, you specifically mentioned the music was playing through your phone speaker, so the only other possibility is...
- Go into settings, Bluetooth, and click on the sliders/settings icon next to your car's connection name. Ensure both Media Audio and Phone Audio are checked.
Beyond that, I would try unpairing all your Bluetooth profiles and reconnecting them. BT has been pretty finnicky for me, across handsets and accessories.
Sense devices haven't worked well in my car. Other devices have seemed to work a little better. But my car is a 2005. So think it depends on the car software. You might try upgrading the firmware on your car's setup if all of the other options fail.
No BT music streaming here too

I also do not get why my dna won't stream through BT in my car or truck. I mostly listen to Pandora...I know there is a BT setting in the app and I have it enabled. I can receive/make calls fine but if I want to stream Pandora through the vehicles speakers, I have to plug in the 3.5 mm jack. In my BT settings on the dna, I only have Phone Audio, no option for Media Audio? In BT settings, under Advanced, there is FTP server (not checked) and Message access, which is checked and that's it? I have not tried another music source to try to stream, but I'll try that next. Update: just tried Slacker radio and it doesn't come through the vehicles speakers either

There is a Bluetooth audio streaming problem with the recent non-GPS Toyota head units. I have a 2012 4Runner, and I'm only able to get the Google Play Music app to stream for a few seconds. The phone thinks it's still working, but nothing is getting through to the stereo. There was a thread about this started over on Rootzwiki. I've been told that the stock HTC music app will work, but in don't keep any media on my phone. I've tried Audible, Play Music, and Dog Catcher. Bluetooth calls work just fine.

It isn't enough that your head unit is "Bluetooth enabled". There are many capabilities: phone, hands free, BT audio, etc. On many models, only phone capabilities are included. For BT Audio to be output, you need a head unit that is A2DP capable (above, I typed AVRCP, which is incorrect - AVRCP allows the BT device to control playback...the RC stands for remote control). A2DP is the profile the BT device (in this case your head unit) uses to tell the phone what capabilities it can handle. In this case, it's only telling the phone it has headset capabilities, and therefore will never output audio. Solution: get a new head unit, or just continue to use the 3.5MM jack, which has two benefits: it's ****ing free, and you can take advantage of the Beats Audio amp within the phone.
FYI, with stock Hyundai, Kia, Ford Sync head units, I've been able to output all audio: Google Music, Pandora, Slacker, DoggCatcher, along with all system sounds and notifications. I really don't think this is a phone problem, it's usually something going wacky at the car's end. See bluefoam's comment above about having to enable A2DP in the car's settings. Never seen this, but proof of the idiocy of head unit makers sometimes.
Hope that helps. This doesn't seem to be an issue with the OP, because he said he'd been able to play music over BT with other phones, so I'm intrigued to know if this is a problem with an unchecked box like I mentioned, or if there's something else going on.

Yes, very helpful, thanks. And yea, its really not a big deal to plug in the jack...my car and truck both came with audio jacks so at least there's that.
