How's that battery working for you? How many hours did it add? Is it bulky?
To the OP, good luck with the new phone. But, it will probably have more bugs. It won't be the same

Haha Ive had the g2x and the only advantage is the HDMI. Official or unofficial cm9 will be on the vibrant. We already like 3 ics roms. G2x only has 1. Plus the sensor in the g2x Is crap. Megapixels really don't mean anything if the sensor is crap and the g2x is a perfect example. Get a vibrant and a g2x and take a picture. You'll be amazed how much better the vibrants camera is.

lol u cant be serious.
1) g2x is a better phone dude...end of discussion. do i really have to list why it is? smh
and im not even trying to brag, its commons sense....i loved the vibrant....but it aint better that no G2x! lol
2) u never had a g2x, maybe u used it in the store....but u never owned one....dont lie (why is it not in your sig? )

G2X is nowhere near a good enough increase for the money. It has build quality issues(light leakage on screen), and it's not that much faster than our Vibrants. Also, our screens are so pimp, deff not going to any other phone that's not a SAMOLED(+ preferred)
I've seen G2X's for as low as 125 on local craigslist...still not worth it.(to me)

It fits in a stock phone perfectly, no bulk. On CM7 I went from around 10 hours to 12 hours, not much but it's a cheap upgrade. I am now on ICS and getting 20 some hours but haven't put the original battery back in myself.

My thoughts exactly. Why move to a G2X so late in the season? When I was running CM7, Overclocked to 1.5GHz, I was keeping up with all my other friends who have dual core phones (faster in some instances)... eg: Galaxy S II, Motorola Atrix, iPhone 4S, etc, etc. Now I'm running ICS at 1.2GHz, which is awesome. I'm happy to hold out another 6 months at the most, and snag a Quad-Core Galaxy S III. Then, that phone will last me another 1 1/2 - 2 years... so on and so forth. What's the point in 'upgrading' when there's nothing out there that is vastly superior, yet? (Except maybe the Galaxy Nexus)

[Q] Droid X2 or Thunderbolt?

Hey guys so I am due fir an upgrade and I am a bit confused on which phone I should get and I want some other opinons so tell me what you think below should I buy the droid x2 or the thunderbolt or perhaps neither and get something else?
I've heard good things about both phones, but I've heard some bad things about the TB as well. Battery life seems to be a fairly large issue with the TB and possibly the X2 as well, though I haven't heard much about the X2. I'm assuming you're looking for a 4G capable phone, is there anything else you're looking for specifically besides that?
Well 4g isn't a big deal to me since its not available where I live I guess my biggest want/need is speed and performance
I would say probably the X2, but you could always look at the Incredible 2 (not the best choice, I know) as well if you want a HTC phone. I don't have much praise for the TB though, it seems like the issues it has outweigh it's potential.
Yeah I would like to stay with HTC because of sense and just the overall quality you get but is Motoblur really that bad? because i mean I have played around with the x2 for a bit and its really zippy but Motoblur didnt seem that bad to me

Oh and I work at a Verizon store, the x2 is junk seriously plus it has a locked bootloader and the screen sucks.
Jam you can oc the TB to 1.8 ghz stable, you don't need a dual core unless its for the sake of having dual core...

When you decide to move on from your Aria

What would you do with your Aria once you decide to get the next big one! (since your 2yr renewal is up)
I personally think someone should develope a Game ROM for the Aria, you know make it into a Sega Genesis or SNES port of some kind!
.
I'll give it to my sis, she inherits all my old (and not so old) technology
And could be soon, right now I have the SGS2 on my sight...
Debating that very question myself right now. Just got my Thrill today. Probably turn the Aria into a dedicated mp3 player/wifi device...that or sell it.

Bronze it and put it over the fireplace.
No clue. I still have another year on my contract. Definitely something with a bit bigger screen though.
1. Backpack GPS route recording (while bicycling)
2. WiFi packet whoring
I've moved on from my beloved Aria long ago, but she still still puts in work occasionally as a dedicated audio player and back up phone for my girl mostly since she's extremely bad with phones.
Someone stole her iP3G so I bought her an iP4. Someone stole her iP4 so I gave her the Aria. She broke the digitizer, so I gave her My Pre+. She dropped the Pre+ into a glass of wine (don't ask...) so I gave her back the fixed Aria. She destroyed the Digi yet again, so for the time being she's using an Xperia X10a I got her. Lets see how long this one will last........
So far so good. She wants to use her upgrade on the iP5 when it eventually comes out. x_X
Here's hoping I can can get the X10 back in one piece...

Sprint Galaxy Nexus LTE 1.5gz?

Attention: Random off topic junk
Ok. The photon is my favorite Android phone ever out of about 14 android devices but I think I found my next phone. Plus I'm also in Houston where sprint is launching LTE by June 2012. It was fun photon but we're going to have to go separate ways. Its not you, its me..

I agree the photon is the best device ive owned but i have been waiting for them to leak something bout the nexus

Its a Samsung... <sign>
I wanna see the COMPLETE specs first before I make a decision. Not to mention, Samsung and their timely updates!
EDIT: I will see you day one Kennypow3ers!!! I just wonder about battery to power it. I still need specs though!
photon is the best phone I have ever had but there will soon come a day where we must part ways
I honestly don't think this is enough of an upgrade to the Photon.....specially if you have to pay full price for it.
It still has a pentile on it, the processor and gpu are overclocked but are still older, etc.
Personally I'd have to wait for a 720p non-pentile screen, with either Tegra 3 or the new Exynos GPU's Samsung will start putting on the Galaxy S3 line. That would represent a true step up.

I thought their last patch fixed the LOS issue, i am cautiously watching them again, but i have been absolutely thrilled with the build quality of this phone so motorola will get a second shot if they keep up with updates.
When I first heard this this afternoon, I thought "Great, possibly will get this on my second line" but then I remember the un-timely updates, the radio issues.
Besides I love my Photon and it being a world phone is a added bonus.
Although I'll be honest, the Nexus LTE aspect is nice as well as the unlocked bootloader, etc but I wonder if it will be just LTE or LTE/CDMA or a world phone as well.
For now, I'll wait it out till Googlrola comes out with the next super duper Nexus X LTE/CDMA/GSM 2.0Ghz estravaganza.

I agree with everyone here. Samsung phones are notorious for having bad radios etc. My contract is actually done in feb 2012 so my plan was either to head to Verizon or att. With this news I may stay and get a galaxy nexus but I'm still not a fan of sprint. Idk yet I can't call it until I see these so called 3G/LTE roll outs first

OK, I have been in an uproar since this was posted. I have searched and read ever thing AGAIN (remember, I was looking at T-Mobile a few weeks back and got depressed!), and here are my thoughts. I will likely get this pre-order, I have the loot, but a few things have to be confirmed..................
5MP Camera? Not a deal breaker as it still shoots true HD.
16Gb Memory (real 16Gb, not 9.XGb Partioned!!)
32Gb MicroSDHC Slot!
RADIO!!!! Lets face it, if calls and internet are jacked, its a total POS!!!
Support - Both Development and Samsung
Battery life - I need 12 hours Min!!!!
Root! - I will need to Root for SetCPU as 1.5GHz will suck the life of above!
Market - ICS for Mobile is not widely supported, YET!
OtterBox Defender - I really love it, so if I bounce............
UNLIMITED!!! - No need to comment here, I like Videos and Movies?
GSM/CDMA - I dont want to be limited to the US!
Just a few of my initial thoughts!

Completely Disappointed.

Because now it will be almost impossible to move to a smaller screen.

It's gonna be hard to go to the inevitable sgs3. I plan on keeping my note throughout though, as a Wi-Fi tablet/ in car media center
I don't even have mine yet and I agree. I played with it for 15 minutes or so yesterday, and now I can't wait to upgrade from my Infuse. And the size is so perfect. I know that the Note will only be able to be replaced by its successor when Samsung releases it. I hope they continue the series, as I will be a Note user for life if they continue it. Hell, I could even go for a slightly larger screen if they manage to figure out edge to edge displays that will fit in a similar sized package. Samsung has nailed the future of mobile devices with this one. Completely secured my loyalty to them through the Captivate, Infuse, and soon the Note. I can't get over how awesome of a device it is, even though I don't have one to call my own yet.

Because now it will be almost impossible to move to a smaller screen.
It's huge, sharp, bright, has wacom support, high contrast, and completely perfect. There's no going back....
Anyone else feel the same way?

No going back for me. It's perfect size.

Thinking of picking up a note.

Just a few questions, what roms have bln support? Is there any cm9 rom variation that supports bln?
Also, what rom is giving decent benchmarks?
Is this device even recommended at this point or wait for the s3?
I believe Saurom has the bln support but is 2.3 I think. you can always stay stock and flash Da_G's kernal that has bln support. Thats my preference until ICS is out officially and is matured a little bit. I wouldnt trade my note for a 3s at all, but that all depends on person to person. Its huge and and fast enough. If i wanted a phone under 5 in, then i would get the s3 fo sho. Size and speed balance was my factor and im am super happy with it.
I suggest two weeks of dedicated arm exercises before trying to pick up a note. It's a beast.

I'm using the Collective's (now the Family) GB ROM...which does support BLN...or the kernel they use does. Not sure on the CM9 variation though. Like stated in an above post, I plan to stay with GB until the dust settles with ICS (dust for me is an OC kernel and the Family tweaking the hell out of it).
Benchmarks wise...no idea. Not really a benchmark kind of guy. If it feels fast and does what I need it to do, then I'm good.
Get the Note if you want a 5.3" screen and plan to use it like a tablet and not a phone. By phone, I mean just making voice calls and texting. This device can do so much more and has good hardware to boot. It may not have the S4 or Exynos processor (at least in the ATT version), but it still is up there with the big dogs. You really have to embrace what this device is truly capable of. I love my Note and have no intentions of going to another device...unless it's the Note2 or a badass device with a 5.3" display.
I am definitely a cm7 rom fan as that is what kind of rom variation I use on my old inspire. I just returned the one x because att will not allow you to unlock the bootloader so we can have dev support so I returned it. I have no patience for that.
So now the note I had when it came out but returned it as well because almost no dev support, and had an issue with my screen that was annoying..just problems from first production batches I guess.
Sure att knows me for returning phones if I'm not happy and I really don't care,or I care as much as they care for their customers
With all that being said I def am the type that should wait a few weeks and see what kind of dev support the device is getting as hey isn't that the reason we all come here sort of. I miss the screen size of the note, not gonna lie. I can only imagine custom roms have improved benchmarks, and there seems to be quite a few custom roms out now including a cm9.
So Im thinking of getting this or the sgs3 but by the time it reaches att and gets dev support, I can use this.
Opinions? Thanks

I have a galaxy nexus, Iphone, HTC raider and a gtab 10.1 ... I use the note 95% of the time, the other 5% I use the tablet. The note is so much fun! Especially with the most recent leak. Get the note!

Ahh you peer presurring bunch a lol. Att only puts out so many good android devices without trying to cripple them. Good chance I'll pick this up this week, just want to read a few dev threads for happy comments.
Are there any major issues I should be aware of? Oh and has battery charging times improved with new roms? That is def something that annoyed me about Samsung devices ,the time it took to charge. Forget about usb charging lol
Hi...I must say, you in a way you sound like myself. I have gone through 3 phone company's and about 6 phones within a 4 month time.. lol.. ....I will say you WILL NOT go wrong getting this phone only thing I would do first make sure you dobt have bad screen black crush on the screen that caused me to flip out laying in bed and I seen black blobs in the background of the screen....other then that...believe me this phone is so nice to have the large screen. Ill never get a smaller one and it has 1,5 ghz what more do you need? And we finally have dev support as you can see in android development section .. I think you already have answered yourself in your first question! And never even knew it...
Enough said! Lol
