while i plug in my computer it show "hs-usb diagnostics 9008" in my device manager.
could someone pls let me what is going on with my flyer?
Hold down both volume buttons and power all at the same time. It takes about 10 seconds and that will reboot your device. As soon as it restarts you can get to recovery by then holding volume down.

Or go to fastboot to shutoff

Need some help !
The HTC Jet stream does not power on - strange problem.
Unit used to work perfect till today - however suddenly the unit does not power on.
1. Battery is fully charged
2. The orange led on the power button is "on" even when its NOT Charging
3. pressing the power on does not do anything.
Tried several things, like doing a "hard reset" from the buttons, by pressing the volume down and at the same time pressing or holding the power - NOTHING help.
The ORANGE screen on the power is "on" with the charger or without it.
Any of you guys have a smart idea to try ?
Anyone know if there is a "hidden" reset button ?
problem was solved !
press & hold the power button for 20 seconds & at the same time press the volume button.
This has released the "stuck status" and the jet stream has back to live as normal.
FIXED!!!

My HTC Jetstream will not stay powered on, when I push the power button the tablet will briefly power on I see the HTC screen for a few seconds and then the tablet powers off and it will then power on and then off every few minutes but will not stay on. Please help!!!
I appeared to have hung my device out to dry a few times now. In the 'old' days pulling the battery and then replacing it would be the fix to be able to restart into recovery or fastboot etc etc. On the DNA holding down the power key until the 3 lower navigation keys blink has worked a few times although I am never quite sure if it's going to work (or exactly what I did). Most recently my phone was frozen in one of those "android has stopped working" messages and I could do nothing, I did the holding down power bit and got a message similar to: "continue to hold down power key to reboot phone for x seconds" x being 1 or 2 seconds on my device. It did not work (and was held for way longer than the 1 second)...after several trys it did manage to get it to work restarted and I was able to get into recovery and all was good. My question- is there a foolproof way to turn off the device or a proper method for doing so? That is when the phone is frozen or when the 'usual' methods fail?
You need to hold down the power button for between 10-15 seconds for a successful reboot.
Sometimes it needs to be plug into the charger or USB in order to reboot. So you plug it in then hold down the power button until the lights flash and it reboots.

i held it for more than 30 sec and still no reboot, doing it multiple times eventually got me there, the good news is i guess is it CAN be done-thanks for the info
I just tried to boot in to the boot loader by holding down the volume-down button while doing a reset from android (power button, tap reset) - I know it's not the right way but I was just trying it. Anyway, now my phone won't turn on. I've tried taking out the battery, putting it back in, booting to the boot loader by holding down volume-down and then holding down the power button, but I get no vibration, nothing. The screen just stays dark.
Orange light comes on when plugged in to charger. When I plug it in to my PC (Windows 7) I get a USB connect sound which is like three low notes in quick succession and then when I unplug I get the USB disconnect sound (higher note then low note).
Any ideas?
Phone is HTC Desire X in case it's not obvious by being posted in this thread.
Thanks
Try a longer press approx for 30 seconds

please give some advice. my phone died while receiving a text and i plugged it in to charge it displayed the red light that it was charging and then i pushed the power button to turn it on and it will not boot and it will not display the notification light that it is even charging. i was running the google edition 4.2.2 and had used htc unlock about a month ago and i haven't flashed anything since. if this helps i was using firefox a few days ago and it froze so i held the power button to turn it off and it took a good ten minutes and multiple times of holding the power button to turn back on. is there a power reset or something i can do since you cant remove the battery in this phone?
Plug phone into charger
Try holding down power and volume down until
Keep holding down, you'll see the back and home buttons light up. The screen should go black and then eventually go into hboot
From there you can reboot or go to recovery and reflash or do whatever

So today my phone started vibrating continuously--it was on the HTC boot screen with screen brightness at very very low and would not stop vibrating. I held down the power button, and after 20 seconds of holding it down, the phone finally stopped. However, not it will not boot back up. I hold the power button down for long periods of time and nothing happens. After letting go of the button, sometimes it does a single vibrate but the screen remains blank. Power button and vol-down does not boot into the bootloader either....Can anyone help me fix this? I have no backup phones I can use...
Just some info about my phone, I was running the newest 3.17 stock rooted ota with Arcreactor kernel. I was also S-OFF via moonshine.
