[REQ] - BlurMusic.apk for non Motorola phones - Motorola Photon 4G

Is it possible to get the newer BlurMusic.apk from the Photon to work with another phone or tablet. There is an older version that works for non rooted phones/tablets but it doesn't consist of the the newer enhancements like DLNA support etc... I've pulled the apk from the roms here but it doesn't install or work when pushed to the system/app folder. I've also tried various permissions but still a no go.
It would be greatly appreciated if I can get this working on my Kyocera Echo, eLocity A7, Dropad A8i, and Superpad i7.
Thanks,

I've been wanting to do the same thing but the main issue is that since its a system app it relys on the framework.apk to function so essentialy you would have to take blurs music app and somehow rip and rebuild the APk so its not reliant on that. I've thought about this as well because I reallllllllyyy like the music player but as you can see below I'm on CM7 and don't have the know how to do that since I'm not experienced in android that well. Hopefully soon I will be.
Sent from my Mophukin Photon runnin CM7, One.Four OC like a Boss...

Sounds like thats a job for "android-apktool." I haven't used it yet but, I might see what I come up with. I was hoping that one of the handy dandy users here at XDA already worked it out.

Nice!
Problems:
- seems that graphics driver is in software mode
- headphones not works... plugin not detected, but unplug is ok - music stops and etc, as it should be in normal.
- CM settings? where are they ? no menu item in settings menu. no icon in applications...
- Random hangs of touch-driver... only device restart helps.
Believe most of problems comes from StreakDroid 2.0, but overall thats great! Thanks!
Give the guy a break, at least it's one more person trying to develop for the Streak 5 !
Hey dude, give the guy a break... he did say he has a lot of work ahead of him. What have your released for the Streak lately?
Man,
What happent with the version you were developing couple days ago? The one based on steve's 1.9? I was asking for another mirror, I was pretty happy with ur first version, was looking to download the second one. Did you retired that project for good? I cannot find that thread in here.
Maybe you can point me to download your rom, second version.
Thanks in advance

no mattter how much noobies put their glowing references on this, this is not CM7.
it is a couple of very minor changes to sd 2.0.. adding some apks to system/app.
along the same lines as changing a bit of framework in a kitchen, in fact I'd say it took less effort than that.
Also RootExplorer is a paid app, including warez into Roms is not accepted

Yes this is not CM but I was tryin to get some extra features on already awsome streakdroid like DSP manager importing libs into system from CM got DSPManager working on streakdroid with clearly differentiable soundfx and I was able to check that through by bluetooth stereo headset & phone speaker only because wired stereo headset still not produce any sound(updated libs version I hav not yet uploaded because not many people will find it useful untill sound output issue is fixed) in fact I need some help from experienced developers like you on the sound output issue through regular stereo headset , I am also looking for browser from CM7 & root explorer will be removed from next version ,Thanks if you can help out....

You don't have a clue. Have you even tried the kitchen on the streak? There is zero customization that works with the streak. Once the kitchen is used it has to be dissected, graphics altered, odexs fixed for text color and other tweaks. You don't have a clue.
FARDS said it best.
I can take 5 minutes and take bits and pieces of cm7 apks, some from galaxy s 2 and some htc files and simply drag and drop them into djsteves roms... or I could even do it to a stock rom... does that make it a new rom?
What he accomplished here could easily be done by making a flashable clockworkmod zip.
I would love to see more cooks for the streak but would love to see a real effort.
If modifying frameworks and odex files are so easy to do with the kitchen, why is there only three people including myself that have released it? Jhotman...baldylocks....

[Q] Porting handwriting recognition from Lenovo Tablet to the Flyer?

Hi,
The Lenovo Android Tablet is released. It comes with the same n-trig digitizer technology as in the Flyer. It has apps with handwriting recognition such as VisionObjects Notes and maybe DocsToGo ( 5'30": http://androidcommunity.com/lenovo-thinkpad-tablet-hands-on-video-20110719/ ) which are quite handy.
It would be wonderful if our community can extract and port those apps to the Flyer (through ROM or apk). I am not in IT so I hope that the work can be done by someone here.
Cheers.
(I don't know whether the Development Forum is a correct one to post things like this. Mod please move the thread to other forums if necessary.)

Edit: I just took the notesmobile_len-oem.apk and notesmobile_len-data-de_DE.apk(for german language) from the dumb.
They installed fine on my GB 2.3.3 Flyer but once I'm starting the app it ays that this version of notes mobile is not compatible with my device.
Could someone simply check if it works on a HC flyer?
Edit2: Just removed the device check... However - it still crashes right after start - anyone who wants to try my version without device check? Maybe it is running on honeycomb.
cool software.hope can get it soon
I hope someone will do it, it seems great.
Well - like I said:
I can share the notesmobile apk to anyone who is running honeycomb on the flyer.
I eventually also removed the device check.
But since I haven't moved to honeycomb yet - I can't try. :-/

Please, do it! A lot of people have already moved to HC
Try the following:
1. Install Notesmobile_len_oem.apk
2. Install the language pack (eg notesmobile_len-data-en_GB.apk)
3. Put the two lib files in your "system/lib" folder if possible
4. Run the notesmobile application for the first time. --> If you get a "device not supported error" continue with 5.
5. Uninstall notesmobile (keep the language pack and lib files in place)
6. Install notesmobile_len-oem-signed.apk
7. Run the notesmobile app (this version should ignore the device check)
@Himmig, got FC on process com.visionobjects.notesmobile_len
I also got the same force close.
I wanna know can man use it on GB?

Anybody tried WritePad, and another one is PenReader? It seems to be a pretty decent handwriting recognition app. It works like a keyboard, so can be used in any app. I hope it will be even much better on the Flyer with Honeycomb.
Anybody using Flyhigh ROM has been succesful to run this application?
well the problem is the following;
1. The flyer has 2 x touch film layers which work on different voltage readings. However the main touchscreen has the ability to detect both voltges, and hence why it can trigger into notepad mode when the pen nibbles touches the screen.
2. The the application itself is designed to work on a different android framework... This would need to be modified to sense.framework as otherwise they just won't compile well together. You also have to modify the application source code to accept the pen voltages instead of fingers...
Unless you want to use fingers too? If so that is another bastard in itself to set up with the pencils interface.
I've tried with SBM to see if the pen could be modified to write with it etc, and but failed, and hence I believe we need afew development to work on this.
Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e using xda premium
update your flyer to HC and buy writepad : you won't need to port this app anymore
Are people trying to get Notes Mobile to work or the handwriting recognition text input to work? Or both?
For those still getting force closes on Notes Mobile, I monitored logcat and found that you need to push the following into /system/lib/:
libMyScriptEngine.so, libMyScriptHWR.so, and libStylusCore.so
If you're running Himmig's modified apk, then it should be fine. If you're just using the apk straight from the system dump, then build.prop needs to spoof the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet.
I've been playing with Notes Mobile on my Flyer for a couple of days, and handwriting recognition is quite spiffy. As a note-taking app, I still like HTC Notes better since it syncs with Evernote and it's just integrated better. You could export to HTC Notes from Notes Mobile though.
I actually don't know if the handwriting IME is part of the system dump. Is it there?
Thanks for the input mate... I should have looked at logcat :-/
I'll try if it works and see if the modified apk is able to surpass the device check... however - could you post your build prop modifications?

[Q] Does google goggles work for you guys?

I remember being able to use it not so long ago... But after I updated to that new leaked rom, I never bothered since. I just found out they got a huge update, and went to try and get it from the market, and it said it was not available for my device. Any help on how to get it working would be appreciated, I really like that app.

Google goggles version 1.6 is available for my Sprint EVO 3D via the Android Market. Not sure which version of Google goggles you're looking for but according to the Android Market on my device the latest version is 1.6.
From experience, I know the Android Market lists the EVO 3D from Sprint and the "other" EVO 3D as separate devices allowing developers to pick and chose which devices are supported by their applications.
Without any detail, it is hard to say for sure why it isn't available for your device. A simple bypass method would be somebody could upload the Google goggles .apk file and you can manually load. Of course, you'd need to be prepared to trouble shoot and I'd recommend making a backup first. Never know what conflict or issue loading an application on an unsupported device might cause.
Hope that helps!
Thanks. I guess i'll have to look into the APK or switch roms :S.

If you were interested in applying a "hack" .. the android market uses the build device information found in build.prop to determine the type of device.
If you swapped out your current information with the information from the Sprint EVO 3D, the market should detect your device as the Sprint EVO 3D and allow you to download the apk.
I don't think that is the best way to approach it and personally I would side load the .apk before I modified the build.prop.
Either way, figured I'd mention the possibility so you're aware of the different avenues/options available! Hope that helps!

Any way to install tablet versions of apps?

Ok so I have CM7.1 Alpha3.5 on the TouchPad. It's decent. However, it's just a blown up phone ROM with some tweaks to make it usable on a screen this large. This means that there's no panes in Gmail or other tablet optimized apps.
Now, I don't mean to diminish the work that has been done to things like the overlay for the buttons - that is really a slick implementation - but is there any way/place to get the tablet optimized versions of apps onto this thing instead of the phone versions of the apps? Or should I just shut up and wait for ICS to come out soon?
EDIT: Sigh. Mod, you can move this to the General section. My bad.
I was thinking of installing this, but if what you say is the case (all the apps will be like they are on the phone) then I guess I will wait til an ICS port comes out. I just REALLY want the Android apps on the Touchpad.
Install it! You have nothing to lose. You can boot into webOS OR CM7 via the startup menu.
Don't let one guy's complaints stop you.
Oh by all means install it. Its crazy fast and in a worst case scenario you lay an easier foundation for installing ICS when it is available. You don't have to use Android - this will get you dual booting.
If your talking about google music or netflix tablet versions, if you edit the device id to something like GT-i900 it will load up tablet versions.

Fyi there is a huge difference between "tablet version(hc)" and " tablet optimized " tablet optimized works on larger screen gb units( like our tp)
tablet version is intended for honeycomb devices with the appropriate framework and can only be loaded on honeycomb os.
The reason why ppl are needing to edit the build.prop is for the app/market to recognize our device as a compatible device/hardware on a "tablet optimized " app.
No matter what u do a "tablet version" application will not work on a "phone version " os.
If it were that easy to install a hc application, the current fragmentation would not exist within androids, and ics would not be that important coming out.
Just a food for thought rant since I'm seeing so many God damn threads about this matter lol..
Thanks for listening

Honeycomb source was never released so we are stuck with a phone optimized version of Android until we can get an CM9/ICS ROM. There are new APIs etc in Honeycomb that won't allow those apps to run in Gingerbread even if you somehow force installed them. You can find some apps that will display a tablet UI. Here is a few of ones I use that run a tablet UI:
Netflix (really nice tablet UI update that is working great)
OfficeSuite Pro 5
Maxthon Browser for 10" Tablet
Firefox (tablet UI can be enabled in about:config)
What I look for is apps that have tablet screenshots or have been updated for ICS yet the same version also runs on GB.

everyone to focus on Ice Cream Sandwich.

[Q] Too Many ICS Api's

Hey Xda!
Lately, I have come across some pretty cool apps. Such as SF Launcher Alpha, Action Launcher, Sliding Messages, etc. (which I highly recommend you check out, they are pretty cool), but what do they all have in common? They all require ICS or higher Roms. When I email the developers and ask if they could backport the app, they all say the same thing: "Sorry, I use too many ICS Api's to support Gingerbread". Now, I understand that Gingerbread has limitations, but can these apps really not run on gingerbread devices? I remember a year ago that everyone said that the Apollo music player can not run on gingerbread, but look at it now, it is on gingerbread running perfectly fine. So with that being said, can someone explain to me what developers mean when they say they use too many ICS Api's?
Not trying to step on any ones toes either, just want to know.
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
Anyone?
it means that they don't have any gingerbread phones to test their app on, or simply because they don't want to provide backward support.
