Neo creaks... - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi people!
My Xperia Neo creaks when I press the left side (the side that has no buttons).
-Is it normal?
thank you

Mine too, the left chrome panel can be pushes about .2 mm's to the inside.

Mine too,
I thought I was the only one, 'cuz my aunt has the same phone and it didn't _creak_. Why?!

It does not matter but I just wanted to know if I have a conception problem only on my Neo or not, apparently no.

Same here :/
Cheap ass plastic :/

Same here...but creaks from three sides- left, right and back(very little sound). And this same problem Neo v is facing also. I think its because of the green heart eco friendly thing.

You can easily remove the chrome side panels, so maybe put some glue on it/a little bit of oil and no more creaks.

got same here with my Neo V...

got the same here but placed a small piece of paper between the chrome panel and the phone body ... and no more creaks

Yes i have this problem too and i solve this problem like fire-warrior and now everythink is ok =))

Oh gosh... I just did the same as you, thank you! Bye _creaks_! <3 Well, the volume buttons creaks as well, but, it's different..

I did exactly the same about a week after I got my Neo Every little place that creaked is stuffed with small pieces of paper, result: totally creakfree Neo

@sdk16420
OMG dude!!! Thank you!!!
This phone is amazing for customisation!
200$ - Unlocked(able) bootloader - Ice cream Sandwich in 2012!
And with this video... in 2 minutes I have the 2 chrome sides in my hands and the touch screen glass!!! SO EASY
The Neo will be the new HTC Desire

humm.. I dont remember having creak sounds on my neo (altough i use a silicon cover so maybe it isolates the problem ), shouldn´t you guys use something like rubber or electrical tape instead of paper ?

or just glue it with some paper glue (so you can still disassemble it when necessary).

try to remove the back cover, you will find 3 screws at the right side facing your battery...
unscrew it the press the side which causing creaky sound then tight the screw not to much....
i also have that creaky, but when i did this any thing is fine... but no issues about this thing.....

Smart asses
I shall do that xD
Merci

It's such a relief - in a weird way- to know my Neo V isn't the only one making sounds ^_^
But inspite of (un)screwing around with it ,i also got a rubber case for, which also makes a little bit easier pressing the power button and makes it look fancy too!

Odd. I haven't noticed mine creak, especially now that it has it's protective hard plastic cover.

So when I got my Neo it came with screen protector which I applied on the screen... now the screen protector has some scratches and I'm wondering is the screen safe from scratches without the screen protector because I've read somewhere that beside the fact that it has scratch-resistant glass some people still got scratches. what do think?

Just don't put it in one pocked with your keys,Neo has mineralised glass(not Gorilla glass like iphones, but close enough)
yea been using it for 4 months now , no scratches so far been using it with a naked screen since day 1

Yeah. Really lucky. My 4 week old Neo V was just falling once into the ground. It landed with the upper left corner.
RESULT:
Broken Screen, just a real little part in the left upper corner. But. The Touchscreen isn't working anymore...
Did somebody had some problems with dust under the screen?! There were about 2 tiny "things" under it...
As the above posters said, the screen is scratch resistant. In those 4 weeks I've didn't had one.
Sorry for my english skills...
I cant imagine a smartphone without any screen protector. I have been using this one for couple months and it has already saved my screen from scratches (even from some small particles when you have it in your pocket). Its true that the tiny part of shield is irretrievably scratched (even they guarantee its indestructibility), but the display is like new. Thank god!
i would still buy a screen protector just to be sure if i were you,
you can get it really cheap on ebay or maybe other webshops.

and what about silicon cases.....it's really helps? it's easy to find on the internet? cause i don't think i will find a good 1 here in Brazil......
Im between a optimus black and a xperia neo.... probably going for the neo... it's cheaper and i liked it a lil bit more than the optimus.....
Got my Neo a screen protector since day one. Been using it for more than a month... Got my protector some scratches... Well I think putting a screen protector is better rather than having none. Got nothing to loose right? just a few bucks (LOL) Im more concerned on getting some scratches on its back cover so I got a silicon case. Drop my phone twice, no dents or whatever...

hmmm.. You said it was scratched? Does it look like a dead pixel or stuck pixel? if it is a stuck pixel, you could search for the web on fixing it. Dark spots are caused by an excess pressure and sadly some of them grows larger just like on TVs, LCD monitors etc.... Its either, you try fixing it, or get your unit replaced.....
Been using a screen protector and a leather case with flip cover from the day I brought phone and it's been 4 months now and not a single scratch in phone

[Q] FingerPrints on Backside of NeoV

Compared to other android phones , the backside of NeoV (Blue) is glossy and very shiny. This glossy thing makes NEoV prone to fingerprints and over a day of use it looks dirty... have to clean it very often..
Front panel i have Matt Finish Scratch guard so no problems there.
Any solution for this?? I basically dont want a TPU or gel based back covers.
Wash your hands.......

I'd love to have some sort of matte foil for the back.
Indeed wash your hands, and why you ask this weird question:s ??
Try antifat middle to clean it or try a middle wet tissue and dry it with a dry tissue, not so hard todo or something else, put ducktape on it, sorry for that, weird question is a weird answer

So @mpiekp, @Pandemic, @monil.verma You wash ur hand every time before using ur phone ... How dumb someone can get...
Wen is wrote backside gets dirty , i meant the fingerprints...
To make u ppl understand better let me give u an example- Try using ur NEOV (if u have one) without the scratch guard (and ofcourse after washing ur hands 10 times) Now do u see some finger prints on the screen?? YES same finger prints are at the backside too. No matter even if your hands are washed u will still get fingerprints on Screen... TEST IT.
If you guys have not understood, pls put a pile of mud onto ur phone and see how dirty it gets.. than wash ur hands and use neo
I expect a mature reply next time, or just PM me and we will take things offline

Just bought Xperia S, silly question but please help

Hi Guys,
Just bought an xperia s off the flea bay, was just wondering either side of the transparent buttons are what looks like hairline cracks?, are these meant to be there or is there some sort of plastic protection cover to be removed as the front does look a little scratched and was hoping there was a plastic film on it for me to remove. I've also noticed that the seller had a screen protector on there, I removed as it was badly fitted but i'm pretty sure there looks to be another one on there i've tried removing but doesnt seem to want to come off and dont want to use force just incase its not supposed to come off.
Thanks guys in advance.

Man don't you dare to remove that cover it's the shatter proof for the screen. Also the grid you see within the transparent strip is the supposed to be working as the antenna for the phone so not to worry for that.
Enjoy the new phone its freaking awesome.....
I bet u'll love it.....

I removed my shatterproof sheet. The screen responsibility improved so much. But when I hard anything plugged in, be it the charger, headphones or AUX cable. The lower part of the screen would act funny.
So I had to put an other screenprotector on it to fix it. However, with this new protector my screen is super smooth and attracts pretty much no dust anymore.

[Q] Not using a case? How is the phone holding up?

I generally don't like using cases on my phones but since I paid so much for my Xperia S I have been using one. I was curious how people who don't use cases on it have had their phone look like. How has the Xperia S survived the day to day normal wear and usage?

I didn't use a case at first but a porch, and I hit a table with the lower left edge of my s (really soft, I didn't even drop it, I just put it down quickly) and it cracked and the paint peeled of. I drew over it with nail polish but I have been using a hard case ever since PLUS a porch.
And I still get a lot of scratches on the housing where the cut outs of my case are (mostly around the USB and headphone plugs, even though I treat my phone really carefully)
I wouldn't recommend using the phone without a case, it scratches way too easy.

Man this phone body is like a tin can
Me myself didn't like a case as well
I usually put my phone in the side pocket alongside with headset and it scratched. Hopefully i have it black so the scratch is not really visible.
And do not ever put your phone in the same pocket with your car keys. In my own experience it can dent your phone pretty bad

I got a white Sony Xperia S a couple of days after the release. Never used any cases, I really hate 'em unless they add functionality.
I dropped my Xperia S only once on tiles, but it wasn't a very high drop. You can only see the scuffs if you look for them. They're really tiny.
Also, the only other scratch I have on my Xperia S is just my fault. I tried putting it in a tin case-like thing I had on a tripod which I had made for a smaller phone, but what I didn't realise was that the edges were very sharp.
My conclusion: Unless you like dropping your phone on the floor or scratch it on purpose with very sharp items, the Xperia S probably won't have any scratches at all. Even in white. The screen too is fine and the Sony (Ericsson) logo on the back isn't scratched either.
I've had mine for 5 months. It once dropped from a very low height facing down, so the screen kinda had a "scatter" from the side (volume up height) and the line goes until the very top of the USB port. It is only seeable at certain angles. There are also tiny scratches, but they are on the screen protector, so.... It once dropped from a slightly higher height than the first, but nothing happened.
"What really matters in this world, anyway?"
I am not surprised that the white one has scratch problems. My buddy had a white HTC Hero with teflon coating and it looked pretty bad after a year or so.
My Xperia s has a thin case so the outside is mint. The screen has really minute scratches that all screens get that you can only see in certain light but no biggy. I never rock a screen protector. I would like to go case free but seeing peoples comments it makes me a bit nervous.

The Xperia S already has a screen protector on it from the factory. Going case free isn't a problem for me at all
I wouldn't remove this protector though. I read somewhere that it could make capacitive button sensitivity less.
I use some cheap pocket-like condom to keep my sola semi-safe.
Back in 2010 when I just bought a brand new HTC Desire I immediately wanted to protect it. I mean PROTECT IT.
I bought the Krusell Orbiflex thingie (was like uberexpensive) and was pretty happy with it until... after few months I realized that the screen was actually scratched by the case itself!
Then I sent over the HTC to the service point (because of broken camera or something). I repeated the procedure 5 times, so they swapped the unit into a new one.
I was happy and stuff and put the new, shiny device into the same case .
After few weeks my brand new HTC was scratched again in the very same spot beacuse of the case. AGAIN.
Maybe a little bit OT but kind of funny story it was .

I'm happy with a naked Xperia U, and whenever it get any hard scratches the phone will bet getting old already.
People don't stay with their phones for much longer anyway, so i don't think it's a good thing use cases...
My only scratch is off all places on the glass in the centre of he screen on my s3 after taking it into a repair shop without my case on. Was just glad to have my phone back so let the guy off with the scratch... normally use a otterbox defender case.
