What music player you guys using to get the best out of the Rezound speakers?
Thanks in Advance
Rocking My Unbelievable Crazy Rezound
Currently I have been using the stock HTC music player because the Beats equalizer works well for the type of music I listen too, however, if I wasn't it would certainly be PowerAmp.
PowerAMP is dope because of the built in equalizer you can adjust to your liking or use the presets if you don't feel like tinkering. It also includes its own locksreen too!
I'll give it try thanks.

It shouldn't be. The "Beats" preset is integrated into the stock music player from everything that I've read.
Beats is not activated by PowerAmp. However, you can really get some great sound just by using the preset EQ's, adjusting preamp, etc in PowerAmp settings

HTC App and Google Music. I primarily listen to hard rock, but I have 12,000+ songs uploaded to Google Music, not trying to dump that all on my phone, lol.
Thanks everyone for the nice replies. I'm gonna download power amp and see how it goes.

I've used power amp and player pro. Both are really good, but I'm currently liking Double Twist. It is a little pricey if you want air sync and the equalizer, but it sounds really good on this phone.

Glad you liked it man. I love that player.
Just a thought....I believe there is an option to allow headphone controls to work in PowerAmp. Can you check to see if they work with the iBeats?

The beats headphones work fine with PowerAmp but you lose the beats feature so you need to use the PA EQ controls to tailor the sound.

I had a problem when listening to streaming audio (with a couple different apps)
My problem was, the phone would ring & the headphone button would answer the call but never mute the streaming audio so I couldn't hear the call.
I found an app (headset button controller) that fixes the problem. This is a really cool app, it allows you to do many different functions with the headset buttons. I have a set of Beats Solo headphones & the single button control did not work at all with the Rezound. This app allows the Solo button to do a bunch of different stuff and works perfectly.

Just curious, are you using one of the pre-sets or did you create your own??
I use PA when I use my Ultimate Ears earbuds & I can rather easily create an EQ setting that equals or beats out the default Beats sound.

I have power amp, the HTC music player sounds better through my car while on A2DP streaming, and power amp keeps doubling some of my folders creating song duplicates as well showing videos in the music library. Its quite annoying power amp seemed to work better on my galaxy s 2.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2
Poweramp allows you to pick which folders to pick from. If its doubled up, its because u didn't set it up right.
I've also ran beats on 3.5, DSP on 3.0, and poweramp on both. I ALWAYS run ALL music through my car. It's not even close poweramp gives more bass and a cleaner sound and its not even really that close.

I been using poweramp for a long time I know how it sounds and folder thing is a bug, idk if its from my sdcard or what but it duplicates them whether I'm picking folders or not I can just reflash my current rom and the problem is solved. I'd rather not deal with it and I like the HTC player better. I'm glad power amp works great for you and you love it I don't and I'm hoping someone would port this over if not oh well thanks for your response anyways.

However I am a audiophile and would like the best sound and also more volume.

Voodoo Louder will give you up to 6dB more volume with headphones/headset, Voodoo Sound doesn't work with SGS2 as the Yamaha DAC isn't compatible with it. Best bet is to get a decent audio app with EQ/bass boost/widening/etc.
Other than that, a decent set of headphones/canalphones should make the sound 'acceptable' tho not as good as a phone with a Wolfson DAC like the Galaxy S (or so people say).
try some pro headphones
use voodoo louder
use dsp manager
I'll be buying voodoo louder tomorrow. I test the quality on a pair of sennheiser HD650s into a Neco Soundlab custom headphone amp so there's no issues there. :-D
So I take it that the beats audio mods don't work at all?

+1 for PowerAmp in terms of best audio quality. Better than the other apps I've tried. Also using Voodoo Louder which does not affect quality but does increase volume in headphones by 1.5, 3.0, or 6.0 decibels.

Hi guys this thread was originally because I was looking for suggestions for alternative music apps to try that fitted with these prerequisites:-
Free (don't mind trial as long as features testable)
Integrate with system sound effects
Simple, don't care for lyrics/visualizations
Themes would be nice

I find MortPlayer is the best that suits me. The playlist is folder based, much simpler to organize. It's very fast, and importantly the coolest feature is you can skip/rev music/album just by tapping the key on your headset/bluetooth headset, not even touching your phone.

If you love your MUSIC
I am a music lover having Yamaha Music System and if you combine ThilianaS Walkman with Music Eq 1.8 it become really treat to ears.
Although PowerAmp is also a good music player having bass-treble with eq control almost at par but you have to loose a decent money for that.:silly:
If you have expensive earphones like Klipsch, Shure, Sennheiser, Denon you surely can go with Thils WM as it has most of the features plus very good sound quality.:good:
Excellent Bass effect with Clear bass+MusicEQ 1.8, good channel separation, less distortion, good surround effect and also has a fancy visualizer :good:
Works on Stock based ICS (not tried on AOKP or CM)
Sony Walkman 4.0 by ThilianaC is the best if you got better please PM.
I tried flashing thilinac walkman mod on cm9.. fail..FC but im not leaving cm9 for this! in love with this rom!
For me, the best audio players are:
*PlayerPro
*Jet Audio Plus
Both have excellent audio, great DSP pack, and folder Navigation.

As an audiophile with Sennheiser HD650's, I can say that Beats are just a gimmick for 'bass' heads who'd prefer to have their ear drums perforated than have perfect sound reproduction. Now, just waiting for Voodoo and my Note 2 will be complete.

The best way to improve the sound output quality is named Jet Audio plus with BBE effects.
No need for added DSP everything available here.

This a port of the well known COWON audio players.

I tried Jet Audio Plus and for a free app, it's the best alternative to the paid ones. But in all honestly the Equalizer and other settings don't do much for sound quality. I often have problems with distorted and fluctuating even with low EQing. What I found weird was that Jet Audio Plus, made the music sound very low and when I tried to up the volume through the preamp, I got distortion. I switched to PowerAmp (with the same master volume) and it was about 6X louder with the same music and no distortion or fluctuating lol. Also I found that Jet Audio Plus bass wise is pretty weak, even with X-bass turned on (and no I'm not a bass head either). But as I said before great for a free app, but if paying go for poweramp or player pro.
