I am trying to flash my Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 with the original stock roms using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145&
and was all going well until super oneclick 2.1.1 came up with a message saying superuser not found.
I thought that is was nothing important until i tried to flash my phone with Odin but odin would not even recognise my phone.
Is this because Super Oneclick coudn't find super user??
If so what is it?
I have s5830XXXKPH Gingerbread 2.3.4
Hello, I recommend using the forum search, but here I leave the link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282011
just not the super one click,

Hi.. That link you posted is to root android 2.2 and 2.1 ... Not for 2.3 gingerbread..
If u want to root your phone the safest and easiest way to do is flash a stock rooted (name of file).md5 thru Odin..
Odin= computer program that is used to flash stock roms and modems on Samsung phones
(name of file).md5 is a file that u need to download for your phone..
U can google rooting epic 4g 2.3.6 on xda and yolk for a way to root via Odin..
U can also YouTube rooting via Odin.. Super easy.. Happy rooting!
Also after rooting thru Odin u can install a custom recovery thru Odin so u can install roms thru ur memory card..
Rooted ICS 4.0.4 Galaxy S2 (Build no. IMM76D.UVLH1) T989UVLH1 -kernel ver 3.0.8
When I rooted the phone, the ADB said "congrats your phone is rooted."
I installed Titanum Backup to work with SuperUSer, but it came back with error:
"Sorry, I could not acquire root privileges. This application will *not* work! Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox, and try again. This attempt was made using the "/system/bin/su" command."
I installed BusyBox but that one also failed. However, they BusyBox confirmed that my device is rooted.
I check the root status with Root Checker, and it came back with the follow info "Sorry! This device does not have proper root access.
Please somebody help me!
Reinstall superuser app and/or update su binaries.
And your phone is T989, while this forum is dedicated for i9100.

superuser cannot be uninstalled from the phone once installed. my current version is 3.0 and the latest version is 3.1.1. When i tried to update, it stated "gaining root access fail!"
As the dude said, you are in the i9100 forum. Your phone is the T989.
I advise you to GTFO of the i9100 forum and go to the forum for your phone before you follow someone's advice that breaks your phone.
T989 forum is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1329.

Thanks. I got the problem fix. It was a problem of partial root. I load CWM-SuperSU-v0.94 to sd card and run it on boot loader. It fix the problem about permission access error!

VM being Virgin Mobile? That Galaxy SII model is the Epic 4G Touch. Not the GT-I9100. You should be looking in the forum for that device.
i'm looking for way to root device with 4.11 firmware without odin.
i have a new galaxy s iii mini that now there is not cf-root or something like that, or any gudie to root this device.
if there is any way to root galaxy s 3 without cf-root, maybe it will work to galaxy s iii mini too.
any body can help me to root this device?
in his forum nobody give me answer.
thanks for any help.

generally, using odin is the EASIEST way to root your phone..
also, THIS IS NOT THE S3 MINI FORUM, please do NOT flash anything from this forum to you s3 mini
Of course not. I did not think ..
I'm looking for a method to root without Odin (as one clik root in GB) to JB to work on different types of devices.
Hello.
I need access to a file, but on several sites on google - all say that i need to root...
So i want to root my phone, but still keep the "official" android (dont want CyanogenMod etc.)
But im really insecure on how to root my phone - and how risky is it?
Can you please provide me with a guide (with pictures please) on how to root it.
PS: Can i still update my android, if i root the phone?
Will all the data on the phone be deleted? like reinstalling windows....

You should have posted in galaxy s2 section but:
You can keep stock android, just follow this link to root your S2 and it will be fine. There is also video tutorial in the link
You won't be able to update your phone with Software Update but you can always find the latest firmware for S2 from SamFirmware
The sam firmware website is where you can find all the stock firmware for the S2
Your files will be fine such as music pictures etc they will not be wiped and it's not risky to root your phone with the link above
If you have any other questions just ask

Try this one, different method of rooting but still easy to do:
http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s2-i9100-icsandroid-4-0/
Kernel?
Hey.
What is the kernel doing? is that another rom or so? :S
Also heard alot of rumors about the Odin - that is was unstable and such, can you confirm that?
i have recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Note I717m running android 4.1.2
i have looked everywhere trying to find a way to root it but i can't find a thread or site (via google) that would explain to me exactly what i need to do to root my Note specifically. I am a beginner at rooting but i have rooted my samsung galaxy s3 (only because the rooting sites were abundant and very easy to understand)
All i need is to know if there is a way to root such an old phone running the latest software, and if there is i need to know how.
thank you
Get latest twrp .tar from og dev section to use with Odin.
Uncheck auto reboot in Odin, flash recovery, and since you have the Canadian version there is an extra step as there is a script in place to overwrite a custom recovery if you boot directly into the os,
So, right after the Odin flash, button combo into recovery and factory reset, then boot into android.
Now reboot into recovery and when you go to boot again from there it should see that you're not rooted and ask if you'd like to do so.
Thank you for your quick reply!
I however dont know what you mean by twrp.tar and where i can find it
I would need links to sites and a guideline if possible because when i rooted my s3 it was one step after the other i didn't really understand all of it and it was a long time ago
Thanks again, hope I'm not asking for too much here I'm new to this forum
Its in the development section for the i717. Go to TRWP recovery. Click the link to the site and MAKE SURE ITS FOR THE I717. Download and do what stud said.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
it worked!
thanks alot!
