[Q] Changing roms from CM7 - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well sup guys, I just went back to Home Base after being on CM7 for a long time (need the Webtop for school), and am having an issue with what I guess would be TwLauncher.
Ill hit menu, select wallpaper, and there will be options to select CyanogenMod wallpapers, gallery ones, live, none, and wallpaper gallery. I thought Well thats odd, but whatever. But its not letting me change wallpapers at all. When it does, its in the wrong res, and it glitches out and its just overall crappy. What do I do to fix this? Thanks

Darkside says it doesn't have lapdock.
I just ordered the lapdock, so I have to decide what to switch to... I've run botht he weekly and daily CM7 builds, but alas, I will need to switch...
Are stock and Alien the only decent ones that have full lapdock support?

Flashing Themes

I can't seem to find either the same problem and/or an answer to my issue. I am running das bamf 1.4 and tried a compatible theme for it. Everything loads but the developers background. Can anyone help me with this?

Are you talking about the Live Wallpaper?
No Just the wallpaper the developer of the theme has in screenshots.

had the same problem, your wall paper will cover up the dev's theme wall paper. if you don't wipe before you install your theme, the previous wall paper will still cover it up after the update.
*fix*
back up your user data with titanium, go into clockwork rom, wipe all the data on your phone, then reinstall your rom + theme... reload, your settings through titanium and you should be a happy camper. My guess is that youre running virusrom...

It was on Bamf remix 1.4 and bamf 1.4 unthemed.I tried without wiping and with wiping and to no avail. I will try your fix and post results. Thanks for your reply.
Still a no go. Did exactly that and it still reverted back to the wall paper I had. Even after a full wipe.

AOKP Build 25 Rom Port

First off, all credit should go to Roman and the AOKP team for creating the rom, JT and sbrissen for making the fascinate able to run this setup, Stephen.k.Spear for the first port of this rom, and anyone else I forgot to mention that was involved (sorry). I'm not looking to take this port over or step on any toes, but I just wanted to share an awesome experience with the rest of the fascinate community.
Link to AOKP main site (changelogs, forums, FAQs, etc.)...
http://forum.aokp.co/
Installation instructions (have latest cwm recovery)...
-reboot into recovery via power button reboot options, terminal emulator, or rom manager (no 3 finger reboot if on any ics rom)
-wipe data / factory reset
-flash THS build 2 (not required if already on an ics rom)
-let phone boot up
-reboot into recovery via power button options
-wipe data / factory reset
-flash AOKP build 25
-let phone boot up
Build 25 download link...
http://db.tt/IBc5scHR
Info, fixes, walkarounds...
I based this port off of THS Build 6, and the Toro AOKP build. I included the gmail, market, and file explorer apps (have titanium backup on your sd card and easily browse through the file explorer to install it...then restore your apps). Everything is working flawlessly except for mms. A walkaround is to download setdns from the market (free)...
http://market.android.com/details?id=uk.co.mytechie.setDNS
Open app, choose custom, set dns1 to 8.8.8.8, set dns2 to 66.174.92.214, hit apply, reboot to recovery, wipe cache then dalvik, then reboot. Mms will work identically to all the other mtd based roms (no mms over wifi).
Currently the option in rom control / lockscreen options / enable fast torch is inop so there is no need to add it to the reboot options menu. An easy torch walkaround is to download flashlight + led from the market (free)...
http://market.android.com/details?id=com.devuni.flashlight
This app has a nice option that while on lockscreen, shaking (adjustable) the phone will turn on / off the led camera light, along with a lot of other great options.
Currently the option in rom control / lockscreen options / lockscreen wallpaper is inop due to soft resets over all ports. The original dev is working on it.
As far as nav bar options go, under rom control / power menu options, turn on show nav bar toggle. Then, when you press and hold the power button for reboot options, the option to hide / show the nav bar will be there. After toggling this you may have to rotate, or open a different screen to refresh the screen itself where the nav bar was. You could also just hit lock quick.
While docked, and only when using the dock, the miui battery bar shows charging, along with the info under settings / battery. It doesnt show charging on the battery icon itself, or the lock screen. It is charging though. Ill let the roms creator know about this issue.
When rebooting from reboot menu, you have to press reboot then reboot again in order to reboot normally, otherwise leaving it on reboot will reboot you into recovery. Its as if recovery is default if nothing is physically pressed. This is happening over all ports.
**continue to look at the op for newest info, fixes, etc.**
...will edit original post after work later with a lot more info...

Do you know what you did to get the wifi working? Or was it just a ghost that disappeared from being built on a different computer?
Thanks btw, this is the sweetest rom i have ever had the pleasure of flashing!

To be honest, I swapped out so many smali files within framework.jar that I'm not sure which exactly fixed it. Its weird because my fascinate never had the wifi toggle bug all, but my wife's did...and I used the same exact procedures on each. Oh well, at least its fixed for good now!

I had the wifi issue as well on all the Stephen Spears roms, but everything is good on this one. Thanks for taking the time, I've been wanting to get on this one but the lack of wifi was a deal killer for me. About 3 days into this one now, and everything has been running smoothly, thanks.

Thanks in advance.

a little question :
is there a built in screen capture ?
how to use the wifi direct ? what is it actually ?
mmm .. my laptop able to connect to wifitether, but there is no sharing connection ...

What is wrong with this phone?

I opened the Google Music Application and it decided to form it in landscape instead of portrait, oh well. My real gripe here is how the phone seems to be able to handle more effects and images smoothly in landscape rather than in portrait. I scrolled through all my albums in landscape without a hiccup, no reloads of album art or skips while scrolling and it seems even smoother to scroll than in portrait. In fact, as soon as I switched to portrait it froze n force closed.
Is there a reason for all of this?

For real. I've messed up one step here n there while flashing everything. It's really crucial to 1. Wipe data. 2. Clear cache. 3. Clear dalvik. Then flash everything in order, wether it be the ROM itself or the gapps. It's like number one to follow whatever order the Dev's instructions are. I cant tell you how many times I've had to SBF and redo everything in order for everything to run smooth and no lag. Barely any fc's as you stated. So yes, I think a fresh start and a clean install is exactly what you need.

paranoid android (rom) (unlocked) 6/8/2012

hey guys this is a port of the paranoidandroid rom found here ( major thanks to everyone invovled in making it , looks sweet )
as usual i put it into jokers cm9
another project by
TEAM MOTO TEGRA
instructions:
can flash over any cm9 based rom except for miui, if coming from miui, cm7, or any blur/stock based rom a full wipe is required
use th3bills wipe all or wipe cache depending on your flashing method
flash rom
flash rom
flash hybrid gapps
* if maps or other apps seem to be missing flash another gapps package that has them then reflash hybrid gapps
current build: based on jokers cm9 6.9.2 and paranoidandroid 1.1
link to jokers site for paranoidandroid
link to my goo account
flash this to keep up to date with the latest releases...search for spleef when inside the app
having fc in browser,facebook,gmail,etc... flash this after first boot linky
thanks to everyone for flashing and please make a backup prior to flashing and remember to report any and everything...thanks
hints/tips:
Go to Settings, System, Font size, set it to NORMAL
Check "Auto Hide" in Settings, System, Statusbar, to finally get Fullscreen (or Hold power button, and press "Toggle StatusBar")
Launcher Settings: margins: SMALL (If youre using Apex / Nova), show permanent searchbar: YES, Grid: 5x4, resize all widgets: YES, Wallpaper scrolling: OFF
1: Stay away from "Global Density" "Default SystemUI DPI" and "Default SystemUI DPI" settings in "paranoid settings"
Messing with these settings caused some systemUI force closes that caused my notification bar to disappear and the only way to get it back was to do a full wipe and re-install.
Any change to the UI you want to make can be made easily through the "list apps" setting. Just navigate to the "settings" apk and make the LAYOUT "Tablet." Set the Dpi to 190, and it fits perfect. Any app the you want to be "tablet" moded can done this way as well.
Enable "tablet" LAYOUT for nova launcher. Set the DPI to 220. Navigate to "Nova Settins." Go to Destop/Width Margin and set to none. Same with Height Margin. Now go to "Dock" and change the "Width Margin" to none as well.
Now we are able to use all the space on the screen instead of it all being squished together, and you will get the neat tablet "3d blue cube" effect when changing home screens.

Flash over. Since gong to ICS ROMS I always flash over with no issues. Usually I have to flash gapps 9 then 11 and my Maps works fine. I flashed gapps 9 then Hybrid and they were there and worked but then when I rebooted the phone they were gone.
**Edit** Fixed. I had forced Maps into system/app before flashing Jokers then Hybrid and it stuck so there were two apk's. Deleted the one I pushed and rebooted and Maps are back
Flashed this morning, all good here. Tried to apply a cm9 theme and boot loops. So I guess no go for that. Haven't really looked at much other than that, had to wipe and reflash just now.

New Rom, Old Wallpaper

Just wondering why when I flash a new ROM I'l see the default wallpaper for it, then it'll change back to the one I had on the previous ROM. Is this due to not wiping something during recovery?
It happens to me as well. TB just came out with an update that may address our issue.
