I had flashed both "CyanogenMod 7.2 cooper KANG RC0 Android 2.3.7 by J.A.F" and "GingercruztV2.3" ROMs on my SGA past week. But after 2-3 days if i update some apps by app manager from sd card, my phone automatically (fast) reboots and all sd-ext apps icons gone from menu. But in manage application it shows that all application installed without app icons.I checked "data" and "sd-ext" location from file manager both are empty. Now phone reboots itself on installing any app.Have anybody got this problem with their devices? plzzz help me to solve this....
I have installed cwm5

dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed (script)
SD Card (Fat32) -7.1 GB

guyss i really need some help.
I have been using CM7 miks 6.5.7 .and DT a2sd together for some time! It seems after a couple of days use, the sd-ext partition stops responding. This morning i rebooted once and found out that Gallery is not working "sd card unmounted or not present" error... and I cannot download any stuff from browser (dolphin) .it shows not enough memory available. I experienced similar problems with the earlier CM7 builds also. evrytime it happend i thought the problem might be from my end. reinstalled the rom and evrything went prfct.BUT now i seriosly need a solution!
tried to manually unmount and mount the sd card, but the problem is still there.using root explorer i can easily browse the sdcard content and use rest of the applications on sd-ext but a few apps which use system resources stop responding with errors. E.g Hi Q mp3 recorder does not work, sd tools wont wrk "Error reading buffer"
i am an ardent follower of this forum, jst dat i dint find any thread based on this prob.thats why need ur help devs.

YUP its time for u to ''ROOT'' your phone... (google for its advantage and disadvantage)..
IMP THING FOLLOW EVERY INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY NEVER LEAVE A STEP IF PROBLEM ASK..
Also Better upgrade from 2.2.1 froyo to gingerbred 2.3.4 (official for india) or to 2.3.5 stable than 2.3.6 (not tested) [ i will recommend 2.3.4..
you can get FLash player working in ur ace and best performance
http://androidflip.com/root-samsung-galaxy-ace-android-234-xxkph-gingerbread-firmware/
REMEMBER ALWAYS FACTORY RESET WIPE CACHE AND DALVIK CACHE BEFORE APPLYING ANY UPGRADE ...
next reboot to check superuser......
next partition ur sd card by mini tool partition or clockworkmod
BY MINI TOOL PARTITION: http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/12/12/link2sd-guide-never-worry-about-internal-memory-limits-again/
BY CLOCKWORKMOD: http://androidflip.com/how-to-install-clockwork-mod-recovery-cwm-on-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830/
(use version 4.0 not go for ver 5.0 its for cyanogenmod custom rom).. i prefer clockwork mod...
u can make the partition ext2 (FAT32),ext3,ext4 type...
u can check by using card adapter properties what partition u did... (in mini tool u choose the type and in clockworkmod 5 its ext3 type)...
get link 2sd from market... open click on the type of partiton u did ext2 ext 3 or ext4...
read it will ask for reboot .. click ok...reboot..
open ...
change settings as described in the mini tool partiton guide.....
I HAVE 128 MB INTERNAL MEMORY FREE on my Ace ... 96 apps installed

hi.
I am using CyanogenMod 7.2 cooper KANG RC0 Android 2.3.7 by vo-1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360889.
I just bought 8GB sd card class 10, and then make 3 partition in it
1GB ext4
512MB linux swap
the rest is fat32
I flash darktremor script dtapps2sd-2.7.5.2-1-signed, and install A2SDGUI for moving the application to sd and dalvik to sd-ext.
It just fine, and I can install applications on sd ext card. (my internal memory is only 40MB used with 20 applications).
The problem happen when I restart my ACE, it stuck on 'ANDROID'.
Now I am using S2E application to install application on sd-ext. And I haven't restart my ACE again.
Anybody have the same stuck on 'ANDROID' issue?
edit:
solved (maybe) after re doing partition, with no swap partition.
Just do partition with CWM.
for 2 days usage, no problem anymore.
I never faced any problem like that. In my opinion s2e is better den dta2sd coz u dont hv to take trouble for flashing d script. U just got to have a ext partition.

I forgot to mention, I flash LagFreeV2 by slaid480 too.

I read user review on S2E
Mihai on October 3, 2011 (HTC Nexus One with version 1.2.0)Really great.
Works great . For people complaining, don't create a swap partition... I had only problems, repartitioned and now it works great...

Is this true? swap partition will cause a problem? AFAIK, swap partition is helping RAM.

do you have linux swap partition also?
I found opinion that linux swap partition will make a few trouble.
As I got now, some application is force close. Android market error, when it is in installing process, the ACE is restarting. If I restart my ACE, will get another application force close.
I will erase my linux swap partition and report back tomorrow.

Dont use swap..It causes instability issues on SGA

Hi,
I have an Xperia Play.
However, I am always running out of space on my internal storage...but I don't know why.
I am rooted with with both Titanium & App2SD installed.
I have very few apps installed and nearly all of them have been moved to my SD card. Yet I only have around 40mb free on my internal storage (from a total of 400mb).
I cannot figure out what is using all of my internal space. I have looked in Titanium at apps using my interal storage and it does not even come close to the 350mb it says I am using.
What could be using all this space and is there any way to find out for sure?
Thanks!
Its the app data and the dalvik cache.
Have u heard of partitioning and s2e?
move app data and dalvik cache to sd ext. that gives u more internal memory.

Hi, I think it's useless to open another thread about same "issue".
I have an Xperia Ray and with only 400Mo in internal storage it's not easy to install all that I want.
I moved all app to SD when possible, made some of them system app with TB, cleaned cache and data when possible.
My Ray (updated to ICS) is rooted and I installed the nAa's CWM 5.0.2.7 "recovery".
What is needed to partioning the sd card ? Is this possible with a locked bootloader ?

U can do it with a locked bootloader. Normally I would advise u use s2e but that wouldn't work on ICS.
Here's how u partition
Backup ur SD card
Boot into recovery
Select advanced
Partition SD card option
Select a size : recommended 1024
Select swap as 0. (32 if gaming)
Reboot
However u will need an app to move the stuff to the partition. Try link2sd
u can partition via recovery or via PC. try ad2sdx by amarullz for sd ext @babylonbwoy, are u wid stock kernel, cos these a2sd things are kernel related. and i dont think stock kernels support it.

Thanks guys.
Right...so I looked into what you were saying.
I ended up partitioning 1GB of my SD card and using it with Link2SD.
Everything was great, it created loads of space on my internal storage.
BUT...then I rebooted my phone.
After a lengthy 5 minutes boot up, I was presented with error upon error. I now have no space on my internal storage and the secondary partition on my SD card is all used up too...I guess Link2SD has somehow failed.
Any ideas?
do one thing just back up all the apps then reboot recovery n flash a stock rom with 2.3.6 xxkph/ddkq6 baseband n dnt use app 2 sd jus use stock app2sd given in manage applications........ good day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ur space will increaseor jus use optimizer 15 tools ..... pro version its an better option!!!!!!!!!!!!!choose what ever u like..................
Sorry for using same thread Red_Kop...

I tried with Rom Manager option "partition sd card", it didn't work. I had choice between 128MB-256MB-512MB (choosed 512) and swap size I choosed 0 and after 32Mb, but none worked. After rebooting everything was the same.
Then I tried rebooting recovery and setting size myself but it didn't work too.
U can't just do that. You have to use an app to move the data to the memory card. Try s2e if ur on gingerbread or link2sd if on ICS
Ok, I'm on ICS, thought that I have to prepare sd card before moving things.
I'm a total noob when it come to android, only few weeks using it.
First partition via clockwork, then install link2sd.
Link2sd will give u a move to SD option

I got same phone and same ROM and you can't choose default installation place, because S3 has internal storage for apps.
Maybe some notes from my experience will helps to you:
1. Not enough space error - this error causing not only when you have few storage space, this error may cause when not enough space in cache, where play store downloading updates/new apps before install. So in such situation any cleaner will helps to you, i'm using SD Maid Pro, but free Clean Master on any other cleaner will be useful
2. If you will install lot of heavy apps (Like i do) - you will always suffer from a lack of free space, so you need something to move heavy data from phone storage to SD-card - my choice was Folder Mount, that moved android\data and android\obb to sd-card but you can link absolutely any folders in internal card to SD.
3. Abut updates it is not clearely, can you provide more info about your phone, what update you trying to install and some logs/screenshots/description about error in installation?
