Where's that list of amss.mbn files? - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried latest gingerstreak and got tired of all the instability, so I'm moving back to the 1.9.1 build, and now I'm after the latest amss.mbn file to run with it.
Anybody care enough to help me out by pointing me to that page where the full list is kept?

Where can i downlopad 2.2 rom ver 322 ??

Have looked everywhere and cant find it ...also is it for US phones ?
http://mobileupdate.dell.com/PackageProductionLocations/Streak_322_12947_11.pkg
322 is intended for Hong Kong streaks, but they're sold unlocked and unbranded so it should work fine. You'll need the approporate recovery.img for this (which I dont have)
(If you do decide to install 322, could you give me a copy of the pkg.dec file it creates during the install process? I'd be REALLY grateful)
Anything cool comes along with this rom?

Stock (309) recovery works on 322, tried it already moved back to 340, got problems/error with wifi when I used the performance fix. Pretty good build, same features with 318 plus chinese language/keyboard support.

so are you saying your on the official 2.2 but you want to update to the streakdroid 2.3 custom rom? Is this correct?
Actually, he didn't like the answer I gave him in this thread, because instead of handing him the answers on a silver platter I provided him with a link and told him to use the search engine. So he's looking to you to give him the answer, instead of taking the time to read the sticky I provided him.
It's your decision as to whether you want to help him, and how much you want to help him. But whatever you do, encourage him to read the friggin' sticky, so that he has a fighting chance of fixing potential problems that may happen in the process of rooting.

ha yeah i hear you! I know i didn't get anything handed to me on a silver platter when it came to figuring it all out. I did my own work and research and read almost every post and sticky i could before i even attempted to jump to a custom rom. thanks for the heads up man! Im only here to help if someone gets stuck in a bind not a full hand out of every single detail.
Sooo many answers and not enough time to sort through them.
So what did I do wrong if my streak is getting the failed install Status 7 error?
Someone says to just let the phone startup but mine gets stuck and stays at the Dell logo.
Thanks!!

I tried again and still get the following...
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "boot")
E: Error in /sdcard/GS2_3beta2.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
So I don't know what I am doing wrong. I copied the amss and dsp1 files via fastboot and did the factory reset. but no dice.
I was on just the GingerStreak but it had a couple random restarts and is unable to install some applications to the SD card. Could be an SD card error so I will check that real quick.
Might go to one of the stock roms since I am too dumb to figure this out.
broerman2003,
Thanks for the offer. I'll take advantage & ask a quick question.
Under "About Phone" what Baseband Version is reported?
After amss & dps files were added my info is "Unknown."
Cheers

ok. what recovery flasher are you using to flash this rom with. I personally use clockworkmod to flash mine with. if you are using this as well let me know and ill tell you the steps i used when i installed mine. also if you do have an extra sd card try swapping it out with it and see what happens. if not try formating sd card in the settings of your phone.

hey sorry it took so long to get back to you. ok on my streak it says Baseband version is GAUSB00000. not sure why yours is says unknown but this baseband version mine is saying looks a little odd anyways cause i know the last 2 numbers (00) means unlocked version and of course im sure this rom is based off of a 354 or higher baseband and i dont even see that in the version code so im assuming this is a generic made up baseband that was written up in the build prop. hope this helps you out!

huh yeah i seen that but mine seriously does not say that. it says what i posted above and i know for sure i flashed the amss and dps he provided otherwise it would not have been running properly. I've been on 2.3 for 2 weeks now. Does anyone else have what i have or does theirs say "unknown" also?
Apart from the odd reboot and opera browser constantly crashing my 2.3 install runs fine. Dont suppose anyone knows how to fix the opera crashing issue ?

Few months back i went to the only dell service in My city (Ludhiana) which now is now closed. to get my venue recovered, she left the package 2.2.2 in my device. I have uploaded it on below link.
http://www.4shared.com/file/N7kMua6U/De_Venue_0ffi_l_222_Fr0y0.html
thanks a lot dude...many ppl will find it very useful to use this to flash their roms back to stock froyo if they brick their fone...very helpful
Could someone remirror that somewhere you dont have to register to download?
I cant put a copy up (or even determine what pkg it is exactly) if I cant download it in the first place.

first of all y u want to downgrade to stock froyo?
That's just the 406 pkg, which is a GB rom. Are you sure that it's a 2.2.x pkg?
I've checked it's hash and it's identical, it's pretty much impossible for it to be a coincidence that it's identical.

Yes there is a way, just in case you don't have it here we go . If you don't have clockwork mod recovery installed use your phone to download the cwr update.zip in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028 .Scroll down and look for directions on how to install cwr. Use a file manager app called " Astro " to put the file on your internal sd. Once you have recovery mode installed you can simply use your phone to download a custom 2.2 ROM and flash it through recovery mode (there will be directions on how to flash this in the thread) , just be sure to READ everything before flashing. This is probably the most popular 2.2 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441976 , you can search for others if you wish. This will pretty much void your warranty so if that's a problem then your probably stuck with 2.1 until you get your usb port fixed. Here is the closest Stock 2.2 ROM you will find if that's what your looking for http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674519

yes... you can get an update.zip from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/59531727/Clockwork Recovery/Update.zip taken from Woodrube's Signature.
FYI DONT use KIES. It may Hard Brick your device. Place this update.zip in the root of internal SD (NOT inside a folder). You will have to do reinstall packages twice to get it to CWM maybe.
There are many good 2.2 ROMs like Moped's Ryders ROM and Fishman's.

I can't help but to notice that your signature says MB855. Since you are using a Photon, are you doing this modding for a friend's phone? If so and that person is not the "technical" sort, I suggest you leave them on 2.2 for now.
ICS ROMs are well beyond what you would think since we have no official ROM from Samsung for our devices, however they are not without dangers and pitfalls. There is a bug that is hitting Vibrants, Captivates, I-9000's, a few Asus Transformers (tf101)-in fact someone got hit with it yesterday. It is called the Encryption UnSuccessful bug and it will render the Internal_sd useless and you will have to hack your External_sd to run ANY ROM. Other than that and the fact that the Vibrant has crappy GPS (sans hardware fix), ICS ROMs are spectacular, especially since very few phones are running ICS at all, let alone 4.0.4.
I suggest you read about the EU bug but my pick for the best daily driver ICS ROM is by far ICZen with SubZero kernel. You can find it here but check out the dev section too.

Sammobile OTA update files

Sammobile has a new function, namely the possibility to download pre-release OTA update files.
When you do so for the S2, you get a .zip containing 6 files:
debug_info
delta.hidden
delta.modem
delta.platform
delta.Sbl
delta.zImage
Does anybody know how to use these pre-release zips?
I think they should be flashed from recovery
Also they don't look like standalone full firmwares but small patches for full firmwares
Also I think they might be for specific ROMs.
If you have to ask this, I wouldn't suggest you use any of these. You need to do more research and understand what they are and how to use them.

These files ain't got normal Recovery flashable file. The problem its, google doesn't give any information on this file content, only as much as that they are files with the difference between the two firmware versions.
They are even different to S3 OTA-Update files, which have an Update-Script and so on. Thus being CWM flashable.
To flash sammobile ota files on Galaxy S2 it is really easy :
1. First, create a "fota" folder on internal memory (/sdcard/fota)
2. Unzip the zip file in it
3. Reboot into Android recovery and select the last option (tesband service [fota])
And that's it. But you have to be sure to be on the right firmware before being able to apply it. If more info needed I could give you more details.
