ROM PORTING help needed.... - Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500

..........

I would be more than willing to try it when u have it done but if it is possible, when u make it and put it up for download could u possibly make it installable through clockwork mod in a .zip file
Sent from my GT-I5500 cm7.1 using XDA App

..........

1. There is no MIUI ROM for Galaxy 3, and wont exist unless we get the sources.
2. Porting needs a lot of knowledge, it isnt a thing to be done by kitchen, even harder without the sources.

i will pay someone to port a theme to legend for me

ill pay someone if they can do it!!
It might not be a problem and I'm sure many people would do it for free.... But what theme? And to whhat rom?
just ask and read a little,is very easy to learn!!!!!
i want the flavoured ice themes ported to the legend, i am using cyanogen nightly 16 right now but am thining of trying blayos b.06 i think it is, i have spent the last week reading and researching, trying different things, i cant get any of it to work and i lie to thin im prety good on computers, it took me 5 days to root my damn legend lol
anyone? please
I would say:
First, what of these ICE Themes?
After that, you should let us know which ROM you use.
On the other hand:
Download Theme-Porter and you have your theme on Legend...
i tried a few theme porters, none worked, ive even tried doing it myself but i cannot get my damn phone into s-off mode so i cant get metamorph to work, the ice theme i would lie is the original blueberry one, the blue and white, i am using a nighty cyanogen 7 rom, cyanogenmod-7-01282011-nightly-legend, if anyone can do this for me it would be greatly appreciated and as i say i will pay you for your time, thanks
bump bump bump
okay.. now you throw in a LINK for the rom/theme you want ported.. None of us will use time finding it.. Please provide enough info..
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
this is where i got the rom although he updaes it so not sure how to get the exact one i have which is cyanogenmod-7-01282011-nightly-legend:
http://derhofbauer.at/android/
and the theme i would lie is the original blueberry one, the blue and white, i have 2 links here for different phones, no sure wheher i will be easier porting from a certain device or not:
flavoured ice for nexus one:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/..._7845__hl__blueberry__fromsearch__1#entry7845
flavoured ice for htc evo:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...1943__hl__blueberry__fromsearch__1#entry31943
my phone is a htc legend rooted but i have s-on, any more info i can give that will help??
Many many many thanks to whoever has a go a this!!!
:-( please there must be someone
ill do it i sent you a pm but you never replied i can have it done hopefully by sun, sat maybe today but i have school so it just depends when i get out but i can do it and im not looking for money... lol ill do it for free.
so you want the ice theme ported to the latest cm7 rom. right? or to a different rom?
oh i just realized why when you ported the theme with a theme porter it didnt work its because the theme your trying to port has hdpi and the legend has only mdpi image so before you port the theme all the images need to be converted to mdpi. and that i dont know how to do that
oh right, thanks for the info, i will try and research how to do that, if i can change them to mdpi and the themechanger still doesnt work, are you still ok to port it for me, many thanks!!

Okay, I´ve ported your theme (but only LITE version), and the nightly #29... but may work also on other nightlies...
-> You have the sidebar etc.. from the theme, but there are too much apps (google apps....) so I don´t have the time to port every apk. This means, everything looks like the theme u wanted, but not the custom APPS...
The signal-icons couldn´t be ported, cause gingerbread has other icons than Froyo etc...
Perhaps there´ll be a Gingerbread theme, so then I could port everything...
I got a problem with signin the ZIP File... So you´ll have to use ADB to get this working.
Unzip the file and copy settings.apk and framework-res.apk to you ADB/tools directory.
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE CONTINUE.
BE ALSO SURE THAT YOU HAVE NO HTC-SYNC PROGRAMM ON YOUR PC RUNNING!
U should first get #29build from CM and install it.
Then, get into recovery and select PARTITIONS MENU
and then: - MOUNT /SYSTEM
After that open your command prompt on your Windows pc, change to your SDK/tools folder and type follwing commands:
adb push settings.apk /system/app
Click to collapse
adb push framework-res.apk system/framework
Click to collapse
adb reboot

Click to collapse
After all, your phone reboots and your theme is installed...

BTW: I´ve tested the theme, there should be no risk

[Q] How to port a rom?

Could anyone teach me how to port a rom, or could someone do it for me, I am trying to port Tweaky Rom from Galaxy S I9000 2.3.3?
Thanks
The question is like asking "how do you write music" A bit complex....
You can use some of the apps and tool out there to help you extract the rom and or other information you want, kitchen and rom oven are a couple that come to mind.
You need some understanding of Linux and ADB
Here is a basic explanation of sorts but this not complete:
Take a base ROM from another phone. First thing, delete the boot.img. That boot.img contains the kernel, which usually will not be compatible for your phone.
Next,
Add the boot.img from your phone to this rom (use commom sense, if you are porting a vanilla rom, use an AOSP kernel, if porting sense, use HTC kernels, if you are porting other UI’s like blur, use an AOSP kernel.)
Then>
Go into the /system folder. In here, we want to first delete the usr folder. The usr folder has hard button and keypad drivers. Replace the usr folder with the one from your phone.
Then>
Go into the etc folder. delete the vold.fstab andapns-conf.xml and replace with the one from your phone. Next, we want to go into the lib folder. Here, we will want to replace the lights.(device name here) (and the sensors.name if it is an AOSP port) and replace with files from your phone.
-There much more to it but this is a basic overview-
Every phone is slightly different I have never ported on a Vibrant but this was my memory of how I did it on my HTC.......... hope that clarifies for you......
If your porting w i9k rom, replace the kernel and modem with the ones from our phone. Since its gingerbread, you will need a special modified gb kernel. Simply honey 2.3.3 uses chainfires modded kernel. See if you could use it. Or register at the edt site. We have custom gb kernels on our site. Then you will have to modify the two files in system/usr/keylayout; malfes_touchkey.kl to get the home button to work, and aries-keypad.kl to fix the volume buttons. Next you need to decompile the android-policy.jar and edit the phone window manager to make the haptic feed back work on the home key. Hope this helps.

One more question, would it be possible to use the custom gb kernels with jvh which is what I plan on porting?

That's what I'm using. All the vibrant gb kernels, with the exception of the cm7/miui kernels, will work with 2.3.3.

[ROM][ICS][MIUI][MIXIE][U][Locked Bootloader][miui+xperia][07.02.2013]

Hi everybody,
This is my first ROM. I don't own anything, I've just simple put the two things together and make this ROM for Locked Bootloaders. All the credits goes to xperiavish for making this lovely MIUI ROM for our Xperia U and atis112 for making this patch to make possible to transform ROMs for Unlocked Bootloaders to Locked Bootloaders.
atis112 didn't give permissions to use its work for that kind of works. I thought that he had given the perms. But I was wrong. He has given perms just for source based roms. So I removed the links. Moderators can delete the post. Sorry again everyone
[UPDATE] It's seem that atis changed his mind and he granted the perms. So here is the link : http://www.mediafire.com/?c06ryujf55qtx
Mirror : http://rapidgator.net/file/77293198/MIXIE_V2.0_XPERIAVISH_-_LockedBootloader.zip.html
If you like their work, buy them a beer =)) And don't forget to hit the Thanks button on their pages to show your support to the developers.
Use it with your own risk. I am not responsible for soft bricking your device. (You know you can always flash the stock ROM using flashtools ) It worked for me and I am using it right now.
If you have any further questions like bugs or other stuffs, you should contact with the ROM developer. I've just make it to the LockedBootloaders.
Here is steps of flashing this ROM:
It is based on CM 9.1 FXP205 so b.54 is required for the modem driver.
(If you are already on CM based ROM for locked BL and you flashed CM9 Based ROM over stock b.54 ROM no need to do the first four steps. Just jump into step 5)
1- Flash Stock B.54 Rom
2- Since you are using a locked BL device, you're going to lose your root perms and CMW recovery.
3- Go ahead and root your phone.(There are possible methods on xda so search on the xda forums )
4- Install CWM recovery (There is also a guide for this on xda )
5- Put the ROM to the SDCard.
5- Reboot your phone.
6-When you see Sony Logo, start pressing volume down button(don't hold down volume down button, just keep tapping on it. )
7- Once you get into CWM Wipe Data and Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik Cache ( Advanced / Dalvik Cache )
8- Then choose install zip from sdcard
9- Flash ROM
10- After flashing the ROM reboot your phone. Wait for the boot and bam. It's ready
Thanks.

Nope. Mediafire's max upload capacity is limited to 200mb. Download those two files and unrar them. You will get one flashable zip. Install it

No, it is not based on stock rom. It is based on CM 9.1 FXP205 so b.54 is required for the modem driver. So here is the steps:
(If you are already on CM based ROM for locked BL and you flashed CM9 Based ROM to your phone after flashing stock b.54 ROM
no need to do the first four steps. Just jump into step 5)
1- Flash Stock B.54 Rom

can i use the brainsrom-fxp mod..?
Hey guys,
Sorry for the disappointment but atis112 didn't give permission to use his patch for that kind of conversion (my bad)(and I explained at OP) so I removed everything. If you want to make your own locked BL rom from unlocked BL, please follow atis112's guide on its page and make your own rom. Like atis112 said in his post it is easy to do that.

I didn't change or add anything to ROM and this ROM is not mine. If you read OP, I referred to the developers who build this Rom and Locked BL patch. You can see screens and changelog over there. Thanks.

No, you need to download brainsrom-fxp mod and then atis patch then you need to patch the brainsrom-fxp mod with the atis's files using his guide in order to make a Locked BL ROM. You need to modify brainsrom-fxp mod manually in order to make it right. You can't just simple flash over this Rom. You'll end up bricking your phone. Thanks.

help about android kitchen for creating roms for Live With Walkman

sorry for off topic...
bt needed a clarification...
do the devs use android kitchen to build our roms...????
because in android kitchen post...live with walkman is not mentioned in supported devices list...
except live with walkman every device is mentioned like mini, mini pro,etc
so just wanted to confirm this thing....can we still use android kitchen to build roms for LWW....????
I'm not sure if we can use it, but you could try it
And no, I guess most devs don't use it. PA, PAC, Cyanogenmod and AOKP are all compiled from source, other roms are often zip ports. I'm not using the tool, but I guess there are some developers using it
