When developing kernels for this device, if you make a "bad" kernel, does the 8 restart method restore the original kernel?

Need more informations...
Where is your new kernel? on sd card or internal emmc? Did you use CWM?
Good question. Say if its on the device and/or on the sdcard. I would presume the sdcard would be a quick fix. On the device I guess would be the real ????.
And I guess it would have to be CWM.

If you have CWM installed, make a backup of the system and if something goes wrong restore it.
Hey all, I accidentally deleted the folder .android_secure in mnt/sdcard. I realize that transferring files from my phone to my computer is impossible now. Anyone have any ideas what to do?

format the Sd card... Else try copying the file from backup if u made one.. Then reboot.
.android_secure stores encrypted versions of the apps moved to external SD card. You'll have probably to reinstall some apps. Hopefully the data is intact on the system partition.
Appreciate the help guys! Thanks!

Dys66 is right
the path of internal storage has changed to /storage/emulated/0
however if you did a full wipe all saved data are gone
I did full wipe but I can see the files when the phone in recovery mode so the files didn't delete

just copy the files to your external SD an copy them back after you flashed the 4.2 ROM ...
the external SD should be untouched even with full wipe ...
Recently somebody posted a zip file of CWM that could be stored on SD card, the point of it being that if a custom Rom is installed on a locked bootloader, thus deleting the recovery, there is no quick way to recover from any bootloop or freezing problems.
The CWM file is installed from SD card after installing the Rom and before rebooting.
I have lost the file and despite searching XDA I cannot find it again.
Anyone able to help please?

No, XParts gets deleted. This is a zip file of CWM that is stored and run from SD card.

Hello,
Everytime I want to use my camera it tells me my phone doesn't have an SD card inserted (which I do, and it's fully functional)
This problem originally occurred after flashing UltimaROM when my internal was swapped with my external.
The ROM used to be great but it was ridiculously buggy and was almost at an unusable state for me.
I've flashed LiquidSmooth now and everything is great, apart from this issue.
I've looked on Google and people with similar issues are saying it's corrupt but it still functions fine.
Also, when uninstalling apps I get this message (it still uninstalls though)
I have attached a picture using Tapatalk so not sure on how the picture will be displayed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

In regards to the 2nd part, see here:

As for SD, I would recommend formatting the card (backup first) and do a full wipe (megawipe?) to clear down completely before reflashing your rom.
I don't have the framework installer setting in my "Interface" tab. Also, even with the external sd card dismounted the camera doesn't work. Or could this be an internal memory problem?

It sounds like a permissions issue and a full wipe and format before reflash I suspect will fix it.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
I have tried that, it didn't work
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Full wipe didn't work? Try another rom. If not, look for the camera update thread if not, return 100% stock if not, send for repair

I don't know why but I think the emulated folder is the problem, I think this was created when my internal and external was swapped around as I don't remember it being there before.
I've tried another camera app and it takes pictures but doesn't save them

Emulated comes from when you go to 4.2.2
Megawipe should have deleted everything on your internal sd.....
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Oops, I guess I haven't megawiped then. Got the correct zip now off these forums that does it for me. Can I go ahead and do the Megawipe despite being rooted on a custom ROM?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yes you can. It just wipes per the thread. One of them formats your internal sd and thats what you want. Backup to pc first though.

Its also worth doing the one that formats system too. So have a rom and titanium backup on external sd card. You're going to have to reflash if you do this one
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
Stupid question, was just making sure. Guess it's the same as wiping everything before flashing a new ROM
Everything now works great, thank you so much! Also nice to have a fresh start on my internal memory.

It is the same except via custom recovery it doesn't wipe internal sd...
Did you use the factory reset zip or did you use another too?
