So ever since I updated to 3.2, the android market keeps force closing on me. It works most of the time, but occasionally I'd have to open it three or four times before it started working again.
I've already tried clearing cache, clearing the app's data, etc. I'm on Stock 3.2, and I honestly don't plan on rooting so I can just replace a system app.
I also tried installing the new android market, but as many of you know, it makes a duplicate, then the new one's icon disappears after a reboot.
Sorry if this has been addressed; I've searched the forums and on google, and I couldn't find anything related to this subject.
Thanks, in advance.
I have the exact same problem so any help would be appreciated

I've had occasional problems with the Market since I got my tab, which came with the latest version installed, but it was completely unusable the other day. It repeatedly forced closed and wouldn't stop with the error message. I had to use manage applications to force close it, because the error message didn't really close it. I, too, tried the usual. Clear cache and then even tried clearing data and signing back in, rebooting the Tab, etc. Nothing worked.
I even wrote Google about it, but they responded with the same suggestions I had already tried. I really didn't want to factory reset because the Market app was the only problem. I figured I could just use the web version. Then yesterday I hit the market app without thinking and found it working again. Not sure what happened, but I'm glad it works again.
I had this problem with my Tab and the solution was to remove the "Market" Widget from the desktop

I got the Play Store update last week and it was fine. Working smooth.
Yesterday all of a sudden, something weird happens.
First, the play store icon in my app drawer ignored the alphabetical listing and moved itself to the apps beginning with "m" (where the Market app used to be)
I clicked on sort alphabetically, and it went back to its original place, but it still has the old market icon.
Somebody help? I want the Play Store icon back in my app drawer

That weird, when I updated to Google Play I don't have any problems at all. It seems to be different from phone to phone. I'm using the HTC EVO 4G and it works fine for me. Maybe it could be a problem with which version of the Android your using?

Sent from my Supernatural Blade
Please try
Setting > Manage App > Google Play
=> Uninstall updates
=> Clear data
Reboot and retry
But won't that leave me with the old Android Market? That's the whole point. I want Google Play
Sent from my Supernatural Blade
Seems that you will need to enable location service via WiFi. Seems that the Play Store requires that to work, as in for my case.
Hmm. Possible. Since I've disabled it. Will try and report
Edit : No change. Still showing market icon
Sent from my Supernatural Blade
Ok...what home launcher are you using?go to settings, select the launcher app and clear data...you may have to rearrange your stuff but it usually reloads every icon again...hope this does the trick...

Hello, everyone!
I am new to Android and to this forum, so someone please give me a step-by-step solution to the following issue:
I have a Goclever i102 netbook (it's basically a tablet with a keyboard). It runs on Android 2.3.3, kernel 2.6.35.8, build GRI40. The problem with it is that when I try running some apps (including the media player and the file explorer - "My Pad"), they just turn on for a second (enough to see the title bar) and then instantly turn off. I also tried resetting to factory settings, but that didn't solve the problem.
I would try anything (even upgrading OS if necesary).
Please someone tell me how to solve this issue by myself...
Thanks in advance!
Did you try looking in Settings->Applications for a compatibility mode option for specific apps?
Sent from my E3D
There's no "compatibility settings" anywhere in the applications settings... Anyway, as I said, I did a factory reset... so there are no user applications installed.
Open the application's settings (Settings->Applications->Manage) and clear the data.
Done that... Nothing changes

Did they work earlier perhaps they are just I some way incompatible with your tablet. If you give me a logcat from the point of opening the app to the point of it disappearing I may be able to help.

I just bought it three days ago from someone else and he said he didn't notice anything unusual but I'm not sure that he did use those apps or that maybe he was the one who broke them...
About incompatibility... that makes no sense because they come preinstalled with the netbook... For the moment I tried installing other apps that do the same stuff and they work, but I would still like to find a solution to this problem.
Oh... and about that logcat... how do I find it?

Logcat is a system activity log .To get it you need a android sdk and adb.Connect your phone with debugging. Run ddms and then under device click logcat and save it to a file during the time I. described above

Hi. I recently deblurred my phone using Lokifish's deblur script. It worked great and I'm loving it. Only one problem. After an hour or two of use, I notice that the icon for the ringer toggle disappears (only the on icon, the silent icon remains). The toggle works fine, but I'd like to not have a missing icon.
The first time this happened I thought it was my fault, because I removed all the icon png files that were showing up in my library. However, after restoring a nandroid backup, the icon disappeared again over time. I even tried restoring a stock backup (nandroid backup of stock photon after 2.3.5 OTA update) and going through the whole process of running the script again. Same result.
During the first hour or two of use after deblur, I'm generally going back and installing all my apps again, adding widgets, getting settings back the way I like them, and so fourth. So, I think it has something to do with one or more of these tasks.
I'm just wondering if Lokifish can help me in getting the icon back. I'm posting here, because I'm too new to post a reply in the deblur thread since it's in the developer forum. Please let me know. Thanks.
You are never too new to reply or ask on the thread of the developed thing you have problem with. You should only avoid posting new threads on the developer section, unless you developed or found something and want to share it.
About your problem: Sorry, I'm not an expert yet, and I have no idea.

Thanks, I appreciate your reply. Unfortunately, when I try to post a reply to a thread in the developer forum, I get the following error:
p0wder2, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
The reason below that line that I think most applies to myself is the following:
New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums.
This is why I have made the determination that I am "too new" to post. If this is inaccurate, please let me know, as I would love to be able to post a reply in the Deblur thread regarding the issue I experienced.
Thanks again.
I'm facing the same issue related to toggle icon. Finally I've to factory reset twice to get my icon back... lol

Sorry, my mistake. It's normal that you're unable to reply on the developer forus, just as you said. You can try to do what matrix says, factory reset twice. Then try to restore data using advanced restore within recovery mode.

Thanks, but I actually have a nandroid backup of the "deblurred" stock ROM. When restoring from that backup, the icon is there for a while and then it isn't. I also reverted to the stock 2.3.5 ROM, without the deblur, and when I went through the whole process again, the same thing happened. Icon is there for a while, then it isn't. I need a way of getting it back without any resets or restoring from backups. If not, I can live without it
Thanks again though. I appreciate the suggestions, they are just ones I've already tried.
I'm able to reply on the script's thread, so I posted for you.
It's right here
I'm sorry for writing "he or she", I just don't know you.

Awesome, thank you so much!
You're most welcome!
Even if you reinstall it, you won't get your icon back... this is something related to application and memory problem... when I restored my backup, same issue again... didn't find any solution except installing lesser apps...
In my case some go application is causing a problem...

Interesting. Well, I figured it had to do with adding apps since that's the first thing I do after the deblur process is completed. However, I'm thinking there may be a way of forcing ADW to reload it, but I'm not nearly familiar enough with linux (or the ADW launcher for that matter) to figure that out on my own.
Oh well, as I said before, I can live without it if needs be. I'd rather have all the apps that are currently installed than the ringer icon. Thanks for confirming my suspicions, though.
Hi all not had my S3 long , but have rooted it and put a handful of apps on it.
I had a beta version of TVcatchup running fine, but then it stopped...saying 'application out of date. I then learned that TVCatchup have gone official on Android market. So I uninstalled and then attempted to do a fresh install of the new version via market...only to my promted with 'insufficient memory' messages.
When I look at my S3, typically it shows its got 110MB of rom, then when I run Adv-task-killer I can boost it to 280MB ( lord knows were the other 700MB rom has gone to :-0 )
Can someone please take a look at UKTV app TVcatchup and attempt to install. Please advise whether 110<>280MB is normal.
thx
Go into the root folder where app data is. Make sure that there's not a left over file of the old TVCatchup.
Sometimes beta apps like this mess up and you have to delete what ever is left over.

Similarly I'm now not able to connect my device to my PC and access it. The Kies app won't connect and win7 reports 'missing ID' when plugged into USB.

Would happily thank you but already spotted these posts and they got me nowhere, hence why I posted.
The only thing which could have more mileage is that I have installed lucky patcher and I recall I did try to remove ads for TVcatchup. So maybe something has been left in...
Would uninstalling lucky patcher help?
