Apparently, there is a new auto root for Thunderbolt which should work on your device.
The bricks were unrelated to software, they were hardware defects.

It should. Just make sure to follow the instructions exactly. Don't try and shortcut.
Come try Synergy when you get rooted.
The MR3 Radio + Synergy = Pure GB Goodness.

Just to let you know, I personally answered this question at least 3 times last week. In the future, please search the forum before posting. Virtually any question you're going to have has been answered half a dozen time already. Happy rooting!
where is the auto-root? had to un-root my phone three or so months ago, and haven't gotten back into the root scene until now.

Exactly ! Miss a space in between two characters or digits ? It won't work.... Add two spaces when it should be one space ? It won't work.... Seems to really trip up anyone without command-line (old DOS or *nix) experience !

Use the manual method in JCase's tutorial for sure. I did hear that the unrevoked team was close to a 1 step, but not released afaik.

There should be a "plain Jane" version of the most recent stock OS for rooted phones in the dev section. Search for "plain Jane" or the username "jcase."
Sent with the XDA app from my uberBAMF'd Thunderbolt.
Synergy, or DT sense\asop roms are awesome!

If you are currently Rooted, don't take the update, just wait and the Dev's will update their roms with the new OTA. You don't want to lose root.
Doh here is the link in the dev section to the rooted OTA, 2.3.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223979
plus it has new HB 1.50 even with ship s-off it shows locked above it
Its android 2.3.4
We do not have this update. you know why?
Because you found 9 month old thread to reply to....why?
We're comin from a pure power source.

[Q] Legend Vodafone AUS Downgrade

Hello all
Had a crack at trying to root my legend about 4 months ago. Got stuck at crackin.bat and gave up.
But I think it's time. I've got Froyo 2.2 with HBOOT 1.01, are there some specific instructions for my device that won't confuse me
And I love HTC Sense too much to go with plain Cyanogenmod, is there any ICS based roms with sense? Something like how the HTC One V looks?
in the meantime htc has provided an official way to unlock the legend's bootloader - you can just follow the instructions here: http://htcdev.com/bootloader/ or have a lokk into the corresponding forum thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1498298
the development of ics for our legend is still in the early stages, so at the moment you certainly won't find a rom which bundles ics & sense. however in the development section there are gingerbread based roms, that come with sense...

There are quite a few ways to roots your legend now since Boot unlocker has been released for the Legend.
1. Downgrade and etc.: Never used this method but it was the first guide I read and it confused the heck out of me.
2. HBOOT 1.01 root: The way I used to unlock my HTC Legend very easy and comprehensive guide in this forum, CHECK IT OUT HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223950
3. HBOOT unlocker (Haven't used this guide before)
From the title of your thread I sense that you had trouble downgrading. No problems! Just use the 2nd or 3rd method listed above, the first guide was only used because the Legend still had eclair and the 2nd or 3rd method wasn;t released yet.
ICS rom is still in Beta version but can be used (Nearly fully functioning ). Check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562595
Best of luck!

Many of the links to the required programs/files in that guide no longer work.
I pretty much rooted mine the way it's described in the first post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1596635
Look in the Legend Android Development for ROM's with Sense
If you need further help, don't hesitate to ask
Yeah, just use the boot unlocker method since its the newest method.

Wow that's exciting. Didn't know that HTC released their own method.
I go to the site and click Begin Unlocking Bootloader but nothing happens
Have you made/signed into a HTCDev account?

I used ogo2's gingerbread rom for quite a while, never saw that issue. If you look through the thread in the dev section for the rom, I have seen others with this issue too, but I don't know the cause or solution.

Works fine for me. Did you do a fresh flash? What CM10 version are you running?
Thanks for sharing, but once you get your 10 posts, you may wasn't to post this in the Rom thread so the dev will notice.

Sorry and Yes I did a fresh. my old rom was the trib sense 3.6. so i had to downgrade to hboot 1.5 from1.58.
Okay I've never used Cynogen before so pardon the ignorance. So I want to know if I'm on PG86IMG_JBear_1.57.5757_hboot_VM_ICS version if that is going to cause a problem? If not do I just grab the stock hboot?
I don't know how to delete this but I posted in the development thread. Sorry

You need to be on hboot 1.5 or lower. If you are s-off, you can just downgrade, but if you're s-on, you'll need to get s-off first.

Update Android version

hello to all,
I have a big question that I would ask, I currently have a Desire X with version 4.0.4 ROM Shadow.
I would like to try the ROM version 4.1. How do I upgrade the version? with the ROM or is a separate process?
Thanks to everyone for their helpfulness and patience.
