Howdy,
Yesterday my Gtab started booting up only into ClockWorkMod recovery mode. I know of no changes beforehand.
I have:
1) Cleared cache
2) Cleared Dalivck Cache
3) Reflashed my rom (BL1.2 CyanogenMod7.2.0-RC0 BUILD98 REPACK 2.3.7 GWK74)
4) Reflashed the kernel (pershoot)
5) Reflashed CWM
6) Verified the Volume Up button isnt stuck
I have not done a full wipe yet.
Any ideas outside of trying to wipe the whole thing?

The flash procedure should be:
- download and copy to SD the GSB and Google apps zip files
- restart in Recovery
- [optional] Nandroid backup, if you want to save what you have now
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe Dalvik cache
- flash GSB
- flash Google apps
- restart
try rebooting into recovery and wiping the dalvik cache (assumung you are using RA_eris recovery) and rebooting again. That's solved most of my bootloop issues.
yeah, real talk i would completely do a full wipe
-data/dalvik
-format your sd card
then
-move GSB 2.8 and gapps to your sdcard and flash.
if it still won't boot i would try and flash kaosfroyo or something and see if that works
hope you figure it out
Followed instructions to flash KlassicRom and am now bootlooping.
Installed Steve's Kernel and booted into CWM where I made a backup.
Then back to odin to install KlassicRom R5 - no errors but on reboot just bootlooped.
After waiting 15 minutes with bootlooping, I booted into CWM to restore. Restore indicated success but on reboot, now just get Samsung boot screen with Steve's android guy in the corner. Stuck on boot.
I can still reboot into CWM and Odin recognizes the player when in download mode, so I'm hoping it's recoverable.
Anyone available to guide?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Boot into CWM and
wipe cache
Factory Reset
go to advance and Wipe Dalvick Cache
then exit CWM and reboot.
Tried the wipes before. Did so again.
No errors reported with Wipe Cache
No errors reported with Factory Reset
Wipe Dalvik Cache reports:
Dalvik Cache wiped.
E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Reboot hangs at Steve's Android guy and Samsung again.
R5 don't work with steve's kernel. It only works with klin kernel or terrasilent.

Downloaded and Odin Flashed R3
Odin reported PASS
on reboot, bootlooping again.
Booted into CWM and Wiped Cache, Factory Reset, and Wiped Dalvik, then reboot.
Bootlooping still.
Same error messages as before when boot hung:
No errors reported with Wipe Cache
No errors reported with Factory Reset
Wipe Dalvik Cache reports:
Dalvik Cache wiped.
E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Then bootlooping.
US or international, if US there is a stock but rooted ROM on here somewhere (not the full restore using heimdall), i'll look for it later that you can use to flash back with odin then boot into STOCK recovery and wipe data and factory reset that is what got me out of the bootloops when I first started flashing.
here is the link if your running the US model http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512331&highlight=stock+rooted+4+0
Downloaded the stock rom. Odin flashed. Booted into stock recovery and did factory reset/wipe.
Rebooted to joy. Thanks!
Might wait a bit before trying to flash the custom rom again.

Flash the terrasilent kernel and use that version of CWM to make a backup, its a much newer version and backs up things the older misses, also don't have the USB cable connected to the player when your in CWM thats what seamed to throw me into the bootloop, As long as you stick to Klins ROMs only (not using any of those CM7's or anything based off CM7) what you just experienced and solved with the "stock" ROM flash is the worst case scenario when flashing only variations of Klin's ROM with Odin.
Hi Guys
Im having some problems trying to install a custom rom into my new Galaxy SIII I9300.
The rom in question is OmegaRom V35
After roooting and all, yesterday i tryed installing the rom with mobile odin, following all the instructions.
The result was the phone rebooted after the instalation seemed to be ok, but got stuck on the booting animation, and never got out of there.
I Had then to inject cwm with odin desktop, wiped data, cache anda dalvik, and then proceed to install the stock rom with desktop odin. All went well and the phone worked great.
I thought that maybe the problem was with mobile odin pro. So today, i went and proceeded to install Omega V35 via CWM. I again put the file on internal sd card, wiped data, cache and dalvik, and the rom started flashing. It all started good but, with no warning, at the mniddle of the installation, when applications were being installed, the phone went automatically and wuickly back to CWM!
Of course the installation wasnt finished, so i was stuck with cwm on reboot. Again made wipe data, cache and Dalvik, tried again to flash Omega V35, and again, the same problem...
In the end, i had to flash the stock rom again.
I searched the forum, but i cant seem to find the problem for this. I followed all the instructions, and had no error messages besides CWM skiping the format of the card, and some message (that i've seen in videos as normal), when wiping Dalvik!
Any clue to what's happening?
A clue read the instructions for the rom .
<b>Installation:Install CWM Recovery with Odin - Get CWM Recovery here
Boot to CWM Recovery using volume up, power button and home key
Backup your device and make sure to keep a copy of the backup to your pc!
Wipe data / factory reset (Not needed if you already have Omega)
Install Omega
(Wipe cache will be done automatically during installation so you can skip this step
Wipe dalvik cache will be done automatically during installation so you can skip this step)</b>

Maybe i didn't expressed myself correctly, but today i followed those instructions twice, and, at each of these tries the
same thing happened. When the flashing was running apparently problemless it simply stoped and went to CWM without rebooting.

None whatsoever. The flashing process seems to be running ok, It starts, i select default instalation, after i can see the apps being installed and suddenly, it all stops and goes into cwm without any message or warning...
This i9100g doesn't belong to me. It belongs to a friend..
Here's what he told me he did:
1)Did an OTA update to the GB stock ROM
2)Phone restarted and got stuck at the logo. (It was that way when I got the phone from him)
What I did to try and fix it:
1) Flashed a ClockWorkMod Recovery kernel (GT-I9100G_ICS_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.2.tar) using ODIN
2) Data wipe .. Cache wipe .. Wipe /system /cache /data...Wipe Dalvik
3) Flashed CM10 (cm-10.0.0-i9100g)
4) Reboot System. It didn't work.
So again,
2) Data wipe .. Cache wipe .. Wipe /system /cache /data...Wipe Dalvik
3) Flashed CM9 (cm-9.1.0-i9100g.zip)
4) Reboot System. Things don't work out yet again.
Here's what happens:
Phone shows the exclaimation mark at boot along with the initial logo and goes directly into CWM recovery
I think this is because I am on a GB bootloader. How do I get an ICS bootloader? Is it safe to flash the stock ICS Rom over CM10 i.e., to follow this guide without messing things up (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619571). Is there something that can be done apart from this to get CM10 working?
Currently stuck in bootloop and would like to return back to stock rom.
These are the steps I've taken:
1) NVFlash full restore using bekit's original image
2) Bootloader update (1.1 to 1.2) with CWM
3) installed gtabcombover 3.4.2, slow response rom
4) formatted sdcard to 2048/0
5) Ran TeamDRH 350 Prep to install TeamDRH ICS
6) Installed TeamDRH-ICS-Beta-1.3 (included TeamDRH recovery)
7) Software was unstable so I went through step 2 again.
8) Boot loop at Tap n Tap splash
9) Ran bekit's NVFlash, still stuck at bootloop.
Are there any links that I can be guided to that will help correct this?
Will need to look at logs to find out precisely why you're stuck in a boot loop, but, try one of these to wipe all data (except ROM) on the tablet. That usually fixes boot-looping.
1. If you have CWM recovery, then a) format cache and b) repartition the internal SD card.
2. If you have stock recovery, then see this thread.
Did you delete dalvik and do a factory reset? I would try that.

An FYI: A factory reset in recovery mode, and in the ROM (when it works!), will clear the dalvik cache.
And, a factory reset is functionally what's being done in both steps in my post #2.
I had the same issue. Resolved it by following the instruction here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14603562&postcount=21

Don't need all those steps--only step 4. is needed here. In this case, the user's problems are most likely caused by not repartitioning the SD card/wiping cache between installing different ROMs.
