I love the widget but hate the lack of organization. Anyway to rearrange them?
Yeah, I've been wondering the same. Can't figure out how to rearrange them in-browser either...
There are a couple of apps that will let you rearrange bookmarks. I use BookmarksSB
https://market.android.com/details?id=app-com.happydroid.bookmarks
That one force closes upon opening every time.:/(
On the details of that app it says:
Warning: on Android 3.x/Honeycomb, do not use this application if the Google Chrome bookmark synchronization is activated.
Could that be the problem?
No not synced.
Problem may be I have another browser.apk installed. I believe it was ported from the xoom or transformer with the quick controls.
i don't know why the stock browser doesn't let you rearrange bookmarks.. i've been using dolphin, which does let you, and is more user friendly. it also gives you full screen browsing. you could also set the uastring to desktop without having to debug all the time.
Thank you for the App. I was wondering how can i rearrange my bookmarks. Google should have included that within the browser.
Got a questions.
Regarding email app, anyway one know how can you select all emails at one instead of going through all the email to select them?

Before I updated my tab with touchwiz my bookmarks were synced with chrome. I updated the tab last night but my bookmark folder is still empty. This feature seems to be broken. Any suggestions?
I have the same issue.
Bookmarks are all f'ed up with Touchwiz.
I had the same issues as you guys but a simple Clean Cache/Data and Force Close on the Browser application from Settings fixed it. Do that and reenter your sync settings.
However, you may notice, that even though it is syncing properly, you now have to Click on Bookmarks, then Google Chrome, then Bookmarks again to access the folder. It's redundant and quite annoying. That feature is one of the most important features to me and may lead me to taking out TW altogether. =/
have same problem here
syncing takes hours or days ! and they dont sync entirely
too bad we're not able to just import from HTML or JSON
ChromeMarks is useless
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I am still having trouble. After clearing cache and data from browser and force closing. I reopen the browser and my Google sync info is still there and won't make me re-enter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Same here! WTF! Noone else experiencing this?!
I had the exact same issue. Only way I could fix it was to restore to default settings, and I did not sync with chrome. I just made all of my book marks manually. Really sucks. I was also having trouble with my Browser widget all book marks went away. The are all back now after manually creating my bookmarks.
bookmark Sync
Hi I am still having trouble importing Chrome's bookmarks to my touchwiz browser. My honeycomb stock browser (b4 the upgrade) had no problem importing Chrome's bookmarks. I tried clearing cashe, cookies, and form data but still not able to import Chrome's bookmarks. Help!
+ 1 same for me.
I've been messing around with trying to get my bookmarks to sync and I finally got EVERYTHING! It took some time and I can't guarantee this will work for others.
I went through clear out the cache in browser and Google Bookmark syncs under settings>applications. I set up the sync again and after giving it some time (about an hour) bookmarks started showing up. I noticed half my folders missing so I created couple of the ones I knew and forced a sync in settings>account and sync . After a few minutes I noticed that my desktop browser had the new folders and they were empty, so I went into the bookmark manager on the desktop and start moving the bookmarks from folder A (desktop browser folder) to folder b (what I created on the tablet). After hitting sync a few times on the tablet everything was there.
I tried this twice just to see if I can get everything and it worked both times.
Hopefully this could help out others, just have some patience, took me couple hours to get everything (hundreds of bookmarks).

Hi nakedninja42, a question for you. Did your Chrome bookmark folders show up in your Tab's browser too? or just standalone bookmarks?

All my folders showed up. Something I noticed is that my Bookmark Bar folders ALWAYS transferred but not all the links inside. The ones that would not transfer were the ones I had recently modified.
The folders found in "Other Bookmarks" only half would appear, so in my frustration, I added a couple of missing folders on the tablet and dropped a link in one just to see what happens, hit sync and look at my desktop browser and noticed they were there. I had two folders on my Desktop browser (one original and one new), so I moved the links from the old folder to the new one. After that, things just started syncing.
I feel like it doesn't like to sync new links, but after dealing with all that hassle, I finally have them all.
I recommend to do an export of your browser links just to back it up. That saved my butt first time going through this cause I messed up all my links.
Bookmarks are also not syncing for me. The folders show on the tab but they are empty. The sync icon under accounts and sync, google acct, browser appears "stuck." Iv'e cleared browser data, uncheck then check sync and nothing is working. Im just going to let it be for a few days and see what happens i guess.
This worked for me...YMMV
After having no luck clearing data from both the browser and bookmark sync apps I decided to stop linking from my desktop version of Chrome. Then went into the Google dashboard and clicked on "stop sync and delete data from google" under the Chrome Sync section. Then re-established sync from the desktop browser. Finally, enabled in the 10.1 browser and bookmarks showed up. Sounds complicated but only took about 5 minutes.

Hmmm, I've been wondering what the connection between the browser and the tablet. Sounds like the dashboard is what I've been looking for. I felt that so thing between the two devices syncing was something hold back because it needs purge. Thanks for the post, might be the easiest solution, mine takes hours!

Sounded good in theory but unfortunately did not work for me. Same issue where the sync icon gets stuck and the folders sync but they are empty with no bookmarks. Thanks for the suggestion though.
No go for me as well. Hopefully there will be a patch to fix this.
Home button?
I had the same issue with bookmarks syncing but performed the same cache clear as nakedninja42 and the bookmarks are currently syncing. I first cleared everything in the browser setting options, forced closed, then went to the system settings and cleared all browser application contents from there as well.
Another issue...where the heck is the "Home" button for the browser? It's nice to hit that just to go back to my iGoogle page but it's either been removed or I'm blind.
Thanks!
I still have zero bookmark as well. This problem began after the 180MB firmware update. The I don't think I've received the 3MB (the latest?), but I'm running kernel 2.6.36.3, stock rom FWIW. Have deleted cache, unsynced, resynced to no avail.
I got a Galaxy Tab 10.1 last week and set up bookmark syncing with my Google account. Now, every time I open a bookmark on my tablet it moves it to the end of my bookmark bar on Chrome. For example, ESPN is the first bookmark in Chrome, on the far left. If I use the bookmark folder on my Tab and open ESPN when I go back to my PC ESPN will be all the way at the far right. The same thing happens to folders I have in my Bookmarks Bar, the entire folder moves all the way to the right. I have sync set up on Chrome and it doesn't matter which computer I use, the same thing happens. I move them back on my PC, but as soon as I open them with the Tab they go back to the end on my computer. The Tab is running the TouchWiz update, I never used it without so I can't say if it happened before the update or not.
I've searched around and while there seems to be some sync issues, no one has mentioned anything like this. I'd tried an Iconia and Transformer and neither caused this issue. It seems minor, but it's quite frustrating!
anyone have ideas?
same problem here...
I have a new Tab and cannot seem to get my Google bookmarks to sync. They display fine in Chrome but when I try to sync, nothing happens. I tried all the apps that supposedly import bookmarks from Chrome but none would work for me.
In reading some of the hundreds of posts on this subject, it appears that Google will eventually sync my bookmarks but sometimes it takes days. I can wait for this but it just does not seem reasonable that syncing should take so long.
I cannot find a current post that discusses this subject for users of the latest Galaxy Tab firmware release, (3.2). I have also not found any recent posts complaining about the problem with tells me that I may be doing something wrong.
If anyone has some advice for me, I would really appreciate it.
Bob
It takes a long time. Several days to sync everything. I imported my bookmarks last week and still it has not synced everything.. Hope to get a quick fix in 4.0!

I am on a rooted Galaxy Tab 10.1 running 3.2, if you are rooted I can help you. This probably works for other devices but I couldn't confirm.
You need:
Root explorer and to download this file
After you have done this navigate to system/app/ using root explorer and find 'ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk' and rename it to ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk.BAK then paste the downloaded version in there then change the permissions to rw-r-r
I spent hours fiddling with this and couldn't get it to show up. Went to bed and they were synced in the morning
Well, the bookmarks that I had imported to Chrome finally synced, sort of. Only the links that were not in folders showed up. All the folders and their contents remain missing.
The stock browser and its inability to sync properly has wasted too much of my time so I have gone another direction. I installed the Dolphin browser and was able to import my bookmarks using the MyBookmarks app. This app is a pain to use but it gets the job done.
My bookmarks were all imported but as individual links. No folders came over however the import order appears to be as if each folder was transferred. In other words, all the links that were in a particular folder display in the order that they were stored in that folder. This becomes helpful down the road.
Dolphin does not offer much in the way of a user's manual but searching the web I discovered that this app offers the ability to create folders and move bookmarks into them. It is a manual operation but in the end, I was able to recreate the well organized folder and file structure that I have on my Windows PC. If you want the same, here is what you do.
First, import the bookmarks to the Dolphin browser. I will not cover that here but if someone needs to know how to do it, PM me.
Next, slide the screen to the right displaying the bookmark area. At the bottom of the column is a link that says "Quick Access". Open that link and you will see six new links. One of them is "Bookmarks". Open the Bookmarks link.
Open the menu link at the bottom of the new page. You will see four new links including add folder and batch mode. You will be using these links to finish this project.
First, add as many new folders as you want. As they are added, they will display in your bookmarks column. Do this any time you want to add a new folder.
When you have all of your folders created you have two ways of moving individual bookmarks into the folders. At the far right of the page you will see a three line icon that lines up with each bookmark. press and hold that icon and you can drag the bookmark anywhere you want. If you just want to change the display order, drag the link to where you want it and release. If you want to move the bookmark to a folder, drag to the folder and release there.
Using "Batch Mode", you can move multiple bookmarks at the same time. This can save a lot of time if you are trying to repopulate a bookmark folder that contains a lot of links. Tap the batch mode link and you will notice that all the displayed links have a check box on the left edge. Check all the bookmarks that you want to move at once and then click on the "move" link. This will open a dialogue that displays all your newly created folders. Click on the one where you want to bookmarks to go and you are done.
If you have a lot of bookmarks and/or folders, this manual reorganization will take a long time. In the end, however, it will be worth the effort.
There is a minor glitch in Dolphin that you will probably run into. After moving a batch of bookmarks to a folder, you may not be able to open the dialogue which displays all the folders making it impossible to move any more bookmarks. The work-around is to exit Dolphin and reopen everything.
I spent hours researching the web in order to figure all of this out. Hopefully, this post will save others from having to go through the same efforts.

with the browser in the Overcome Rom 2.1.1 (p7510.teamovercome.net) sync with Chrome works perfect....
Hello everybody,
For a long time I'm looking for an alternative for my Dolphin browser as it is whether safe nor up to date...
I would like to have a browser with bookmarks which are organized by folders and subfolders which in turn also can be alphabetically sorted (latter point is not a must but nice to have).
I do not like Firefox, because bookmarks can only be imported by syncing via account and third party.
Anyone knows a good browser meeting these criteria? Please let me know....would be fine to kick Dolphin off my device...
Thx in advance!
