Faster Homescreen Unlock? - HTC Amaze 4G

Is there anyway to speed up the time it takes from unlock to homescreen? I'm used to stock Android and when you unlock the Amaze, the homescreen has to rotate in and takes a few seconds. I'm used to unlocking and immediately being at the homescreen.
Anyone know if you can speed this up?

Turn off screen, but don't lock phone

Is there any way (add on app or otherwise) to be able to turn off my phone manually with the power button and have it not lock (so that when I turn it back on the screen is on where I left it without the lock screen). And where I can manually lock if I want.
Ideally too something that won't automatically lock (just turn off) when the screen delay is reached.
This is driving me crazy!
There is an app for that, it's call No Lock. I used to use it on my Desire HD running CM7 rom. I don't know if it will work for sense tho.
No Lock works great... I have it on my 3D.. and used it on my Evo4G, and my wife has it on her Shift 4G. Just be careful with it because the volume up/down buttons will also turn the screen back on, but you'll never need to worry about the lockscreen ever again if you run that app.
Thanks, I just installed No Lock. It is okay, but I would really like something that includes a simple widget to lock the screen -- like I could just press it and the built in lockscreen would lock the phone. I realize I can use the included widget and turn off No Lock and then the phone locks, but it just seems like an extra step.
Maybe use the widget and put a shortcut to screen off next to it?... Or somethin like dat

You could use Tasker and make a widget that you can run that will turn off No Lock, and then lock the phone / turn off the screen

Disable Lockscreen

Im using widgetlocker and about every 10th unlock instead of showing WL, it shows the stock lockscreen. I tried No Lock, but that didnt work either. Any help would be appreciated.

There is an option in the WL to disable the stock lock screen, i used it b4. Now i have no lock screen using No lock to save some battery. It goes straight to home screen after power on/off
I use that option, it still sometimes goes to the stock lockscreen

Weather effects.

Okay so before I unlocked and rooted my phone, every time I would unlock my screen it would take me to my homescreen and if I didn't touched anything for a second some really awesome weather effects would play right on my homescreen depending on what the weather was like.
After unlocking and rooting it doesn't do that anymore for some reason. I might have changed a setting somewhere but I doubt it.
Does anyone knows how to enable that again?

Drag the widget to the edit menu on the bottom, then choose your city, then check the box show full screen animation

Everytime I install a rom or restore I have to delete the widget and add it back... IDK why but after that you are good to go. Someone else mentioned you can edit or whatever I'll try that next time but for sure deleting and adding it back fixes for me
Thanks both of you guys!!!
It worked perfectly.
Have a great day

Widget Locker worth purchasing?

Curious to know if this Locker actually works? ive tried go locker but it seems to randomly come up late when turning on the screen, no idea why..itl show stock lock screen but then show my go locker one a couple secs later..kinda annoying. Does this widget locker do the same?
Did you delete the htc lockscreen when you had go locker installed?
i did not, how do i do that? using Titanium?
never mind i found it thanks for the help
I've used GoLocker and Widget Locker. Widget Locker is 10x better, more smooth and it almost literally replaces the new lockscreen. it has about 10 built in lock themes that are pretty standard, including Ice Cream Sandwhich, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb.
I definitely recommend it's purchase if you're looking for a new lockscreen. It's also super-customizable.
Sometimes you do still have that delay when it switches to the lockscreen, but it's not nearly as bad as Go Locker. usually the lagged lockscreen happens if you turn the screen off then turn it on right away. If you turn the screen off and wait a couple seconds, it grabs the Widget Locker screen completely when you turn it back on.
I love Widget Locker. Bought it launch for the intro price.

And if you have root access you can enable root helper which basically makes it so there is no lag, Definetly worth it in my opinion.

I never knew this. Just goes to show you how much I sit down and explore the application settings.

Thanks! I didn't know this either. I had stopped using WL because of the lag. Will test drive it again!

Lockscreen issues

I've searched around but didn't see anything about this. When I unlock my phone it takes a good 3-5 seconds to go to my home screen. When I had my Hero it was instanteanous.
I was hoping changing ROMs would help but I'm using Charmeleon's ROM and it still does it. The only workaround I've found is to enable the AOSP ICS lockscreen. There I can slide it to the camera and immediately hit the home button. I'd rather not have to do that though.
Is this normal or should it turn on as soon as I slide it to the unlock icon?
