Anyone using this? And what are your thoughts? It looks really nice but looks like a memory hog!
I bought if shortly after reading about it on engadget. I will tell you this. I was in the world of updating and changing my look on my phone almost weekly. After putting this Launcher on I found what could possibly be the last launcher I will ever use or need. It is extremely fluid, not to mention the eye candy involved. The way you can cleverly add new pages whenever and wherever you want is plain awesome. I have yet to find any true gripes other than it does not sync facebook pictures in your contact list to its widgets. So the events widget, messaging and contacts folder were a bit of an annoyance. Other than that very solid and stable. Hope this helps. And if you have any questions let me know.
Check this thread:

I use it and love it. By far the best eye candy. Though I miss a few things, like landscape mode and animated wallpapers. It's not perfect, but for the looks it's the best.
I'm seeing a lot of people liking this spb shell 3d...and am wondering if I missed anything when I gave it a try and returned within the 15 minutes. The things I couldn't find that I was expecting from being a long time user of spb shell on Windows Mobile, were a true contacts panel, where you can change the arrangement, size, action etc. of your favorite contacts or scroll through their pictures carousel style. With is actually being called '3D' it would be more likely this is an option and I just missed it. Can you easily switch between a 'Home' and 'Pro' set of panels?
I use it and love it too. Great speed and effects. Well worth the $$ to me.
Its' so fast and clean, I can't go back to anything else. Definitely worth all the money.

Agreed
Still the best I have used and worth the $15 but lacking landscape and live wallpaper. Prolly fixed in the next release
Eh couldn't find out how to get rid of the Flickr widget thing, plus it doesn't look to great with GreyBlur :/
I can't believe i paid 15 bucks for this =/
I have the new update and i'm rooted. I've been on stock for the past 5 days(waiting on gingerblur 3.0) I opted to try this out yesterday in place of stock.
After about 30 minutes I wanted to kill myself.
this thing is so bland!
Anyone used this? Opinion?

I am not a mod, so I would like to just give you some friendly advice. Change your sig to something more family friendly. See XDA implemented this thing called 'Operation Iron Fist' where they are not going to tolerate certain things anymore and offensive and sexually explicit language is one of them. They feel like this is a family site and should be welcoming to people of all ages.
I have used Ahome. In fact I have probably used every home replacement app out there, but I always go back to ADW EX. It is the best to me and it and Launcher Pro or by far the most popular home replacement apps out because of how feature rich they are.
ok, my bad, I will update the sig

You did a good thing bro. Thanks for not taking what I said the wrong way. I just didn't want to see you get a temp ban or warning for it.
Anyway, have you tried ADW or Launcher Pro? If you aren't going to buy the pro version of ADW, Launcher Pro is probably better, but the latest update of ADW has made it real nice and if you have a Honeycomb Tablet by chance it now compatible with it and runs silky smooth and the options are unbelievable.
I have tried the major three, adw, lp, and go. I like go the best, I just happened across ahome on the market and havent heard anyone talk about it. I tried it out and it is not that great compared to the other ones. I cant believe they charge for it because it does not have that many options to customize like the others.
I took what you said fine, I forget myself sometimes. I have owned apple products in the past, but their recent lawsuits and whining has turned me off to them. They are suing everyone now I think. Suprised they havent sued xda for something stupid too.
I usually stick with stock launcher here but everytime I switch to LP or ADW it f's up my wallpaper resolution causing it to zoom way in on the current one.

SPB Shell 3D is the one that is available on the market now. I own this.....it's a good launcher, but IMHO not worth the $15 unless you have some extra $$ to blow. Someone got me mine for Christmas.

Yeah that's it, didn't know it was $15.
I'm not dropping that much digital green paper on a launcher, lol. I'll just find a different one I guess.
Thx for the info guys.
Not sure if its still around but there was one in development a while ago called Regina launcher

I was on the Market and I came across this new launcher. The video is unreal. The price is crazy @$17, especially with a number of the functions in the video not working at the moment. I just wanted to see if anyone was willing to give this a try, and if they were able to get it to work on the Atrix. I sent the dev an e-mail to ask if it is compatible. I have read that there are numerous amounts of FCs associated with this launcher.
At any rate, take a look at this video.

I honestly think it looks hideous. Nothing special just a different way of switching screens and a couple of widgets.

Who the hell is going to pay $17 for a launcher?
The launcher loads ok but gives fcs along the way, motion is VERY smooth! Music and memo widgets market says are not compatible. It has great potential but indeed the price will hold most ppl back from buying it.

I had a hard time giving $15 for shell, but i did, I'm not giving that much for a launcher ever again! Just not worth it compared to the excellent cheaper launchers and the free launchers that are out there.

To expensive to buy, IMO..I don't know why the sell that too expensive, an people may think: "well is their app, they may ask whatever they want" but for example SPB Shell, $15 and a 100,000 downloads, if they drop their price to $5 they may need to sell 3 times to reach their goal, but for a luncher like that they may do it quickly because lots of users wants to give a try.
$17 dollars? No way.

This launcher is absolutely freaking amazing!
It is the first launcher ever for Android, and I am not exaggerating, that has iPhone kind of smoothness.
The irony is that this launcher has all those fancy 3D transitions and animations and it's still absolutely perfectly silky smooth throughout.
While simple basic launchers like ADW or LP still get laggy around the edges at times.
This just goes to show that we don't need epic new quad core hardware for our phones, we need devs that know how to optimize for the hardware we already have.
Tegra 2 is more than enough to run anything currently on Android without issues.
Kudos to the devs for the professionalism and their hard work. This really is an amazing smoothest-ever launcher.

Can't you select the icons you want arranged and create a grid...in the video it looks like you can resize a box with your icons in it.
Just wanted to share this with everyone. Nice alternative to Nova Launcher, there's the option to hide apps w/o paying for the app (for now). There are a few hiccups here and there, but generally I must say it is considerably smoother than Nova overall. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452663

I had seen this one before but for some reason never downloaded it. Don't know what was holding me back. Hmm. Oh well. Thanks for the recommendation. Gonna play around with it for a while and see if it can take down Nova as my launcher of choice.
The appdrawer is considerably smoother than nova, as well as the home screen. There are some nice featues on this launcher for sure, and the hide apps. I already bought nova before I saw the update, but oh well $4 is just $4 . There is some lag in the widgets section with some transitions, but I'm sure the dev will fix it eventually.

I was just about to edit my post and say that the scrolling is noticeably smoother. I'm diggin this one. Plus the Apex Menu is a nice touch since I have Swipe Down to show that menu. I can then change my wallpaper or add a widget from there. Don't know why, but long pressing to add a widget annoys me lol and I never really use the in-drawer widget selector as much as I thought I would. I paid for Nova, too, but don't really mind since I did it more to help the dev out.
Again, thanks for the rec! This is nice
EDIT: Oh, and the infinite scroll in the app drawer...biiiiig bonus for me.
I really am digging the double tap to bring up the menu. But I can confirm it's just the software, friends Gnex also has the same lag that I do.
This launcher is really nice. I think it might take down Nova after all. It has what I need on the phone. Gonna keep an eye on that thread and might start using it on my Prime soon, too.

Yeah I already took down Nova and uninstalled. Hopefully it'll be smoother in the future, but the homescreens and the app drawer with no lag, with all the features Apex = win. I'm pretty stoked for the new Prime that's coming out, thinking about picking it up.

EDIT: Also, if GPS isn't a concern for you, I would purchase a Prime now. The next one will just have the GPS fix and a better resolution screen, but it would be hard to tell the upgrade in screen on a screen this small. I don't use GPS on my Prime, so this thing is perfect for me.

Yeah, my wifi was never an issue for me, but my GPS will only work if I'm standing still. I just don't use it anyway, so it's no concern to me and the $100 extra isn't enough to make me want the slightly better screen. I think that one is supposed to be out late this year. Then again, that's what ASUS said about this Prime and it took almost 4 months for me to get mine. Hopefully they learned their lesson and you can actually get it when you order it.

Apex Launcher is sweet. I had to change my minimum scrolling time from zero to like 7 to get it scroll quickly though.
On a side note. Does anyone know if Anddoes will fix Fancy Widgets to fit our Rezound screens correctly? The flip clock doesn't size correctly on our devices.

Not too sure if they resized the widgets. But yeah If ind that if the timer is at 0 the desktop seems kinda laggy. I wonder the fps of both launchers on the home screen when it comes to scrolling through screens. ICS claims it has it up to 60.. but it seems like it's 30 fps, that or my eyes are just too picky . Hopefully the developer will address the issues w/ homescreen smoothness.
