I have a fully up to date evo 3d with 2.08.651.3 that I bought today. I was just curious which method will be best for me to root this way?
ugh, and hboot 1.50
The only method is the HTC method
Where can I find that?

No thank you as in.....you don't want to search or as in...you don't want to use HTC method?

Originally it was a no thank you to the crappy search function. Now it's to using the htc method lol. I've been doing this since last night, I don't understand wtf I'm doing wrong. I can't find any of the 3 files to put into the android folder, and now I tried again from the beginning and it wont let me install the packages it asks for.
Flash fresh ROM its pre rooted and almost stock

check it.
I did the best I could to make it as simple as possible.
what issues are you running into? Is the unlocker failing?
I actually uninstalled and reinstalled all of the files, rooted and all now. I am looking for a stable sense ROM possibly with sense 3.5 but clean and everything working. Any ideas? Right now I am about to install viperROM redline 2.1.1. Not sure which kernel to use with that however. Any insight is appreciated.
Miui Rom with the Anthrax powered kernel \m/
There's no 4g but there's none where I live anyway so it's no big deal to me. This rom is the best one out there. In my opinion. I don't like sence so this one is awesome.
I like infected eternity rom. You won't beat it.
Viper is good.
Olympus trinity is good.
Warm is good.
All of those have just about everything working.
All the sense 3.5 roms have something or other missing. Stick with 3.0. For now if you want full functionality.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Awesome I'll try it, everything works? I see there's a 3.0 and 3.5 version, and both have everything working? It doesn't seem to say. What kernel can I use? I went to anthrax but I'm not sure which version?
Infected Eternity is stable on Sense 3.0 - the 3.5 has broken items. #d and WiMax.
I'm curerntly running Nocturnal 1.3.2. After going through a few ROMS.. I'm stuck on this one. It's fantastic.
I ran eternity for a while before Nocturnal.
I've found that the Ziggy kernels are great.... my faves are the AnthraX kernels.
Happy flashing man. Don't forget to back up!

Can someone tell me the best GB rom out there and how to root it and stuff? Sorry I'm such a noob at this. I only have experience in jailbreaking lol
The best GB rom is the one that your phone responds to the best. Try em all once you get root. Theres a ton of tutorials on rooting. Read in the Development section for which way you feel comfy doing. There are one click rooters and then you can do it manually.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081930 Start here.
^^ good list of choices for roms/kernels/radios but if you're not even rooted yet, you will definitely need to check the Ref/Guide page out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013013
Here is how to root, just follow along and everything will work perfectly. If you have problems hit up IRC or check out a couple video's on youtube to help you along.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616
As for the best rom, it is best for you to check them out, download a couple that look interesting to you (be sure to read on how to flash a rom/radio/kernel) and then try each one out for a couple days and see which one you like best.
Thank you all very much. Would you guys suggest rooting my TB even with this new OTA update?

I have rooted and un-rooted a couple of times and have found it best to be rooted. so much more freedom. I have my doubts about how much good the OTA updates actually do. A couple of patches/fixes and it will still be buggy. just my two cents...
bamf 2.1 hands down.

I've tried a bunch of the roms. The bamf 3 rc4 was my favorite for the first few days. It was very fast and I really liked some of the unique things they did.
I'm using Gingertheory now. It's similar to the bamf, but it even has more loaded in things so you can mod the layout real easy. I finally feel like I have a unique phone, and not just a rooted rom.
I loaded up about 10 roms in 2 days, so it doesn't take long once you figure it out.

Same with this guy. The Das Bamf 3.0 RC4 was awesome. little buggy, like i couldn't make phone calls to specific people, but others i could. Gingertheory = complete awesomeness. and it is crazy fast too.
Current rom: Gingertheory 4.5.1 soon 5.0
Try 'em all.
Just make sure to do a nandroid backup (through clockwork recovery mode) after any ROM you like.
And...
Do not use ROM Manager or Kernal Manager to flash anything.
Use Clockwork recovery....most developers will tell you the same.
Just as a reference point for some people who like to see what "Most" people use.
If you put "Other" please post which ROM.
Also, to ROM Devs, if you don't see yours listed, I didn't single any out on purpose, I just did a quick skim of the available ROMs and This board won't let me add any new Poll options it seems... So, Sorry if I missed yours...
I'm using Senseless 2.0. By far my favorite rom, until we get CM of course...

Was using Viperrom but now using latest stock OTA deodexed version. The camera fix is mainly the reason. Eventually gonna go back to Viperrom once he makes one based off the latest OTA.

Showdown with ShowDown Kernel2 because its fast smooth and great battery life.
I was running viperRom for a few weeks, but decided to give Virus a shot and absolutely love it. I'll probably jump back to Viper whenever the new release drops to see what kind of changes were made.
I'm on vipermod right now but am interested in synergy but I'm a little intimidated..I didn't understand half of the tweaks that were in the op and i don't know how to flash nightlys ..I don't have a desktop so I'm not sure if you need one to.flash the updates ..only way i know is to download right to my phone, put on root of SD and flash ..anyone with synergy how do you flash nightlys and can you do it right from your phone
rooted stock.
I have been wanting to flash but the damn phone is just running too good in all aspects and I have it right where I want it. Some days I secretly hope I could find an issue/bug that would give me a valid reason.....

Fresh is a nice one imo its very close to stock it uses stock kernal but has some goodies added in. very stable also seeing as it isnt modded to much mostly bloatware stripped hotspot unlocked and a few others

Htc Evo 3d hboot 1.5
He has a few different kernals the one I found that worked to flash ics on h-boot 1.5 was chads other kernal AnthraX-htcleak-stockfirmwaretest there links to it in rom thread. I have had a couple bugs with it 3d,camcorder not working but other than that works flawlessly. No reboots. I am sure he will update soon enough so I am holding out for it.
whats the best custom upgrades for sprint evo 3d
whats the best custom upgrades for sprint evo 3d I'm running mean Rom but I don't know if it any good I want the venom viper 4g but I can't seem to find the WiMAX what is the fastest easiest nicest themed mod all in one can some one post and or who bout let figure the all in one set to have the most productive ,sharpest
Viper 3d don't have working WiMAX right now. Virus is working on that. From what you are asking about I recommend Zr3d-XL Rom. It's highly customizable with full functionality along with leedroid tweaks. It also has beats, Sony bravia and xcloud sound and picture enhancements. Plus a whole bunch of other tweaks I cant name right now. If you want to theme out your Rom I recommend the blue and red blend themes. They are awesome and will give your phone a whole new look and feel. You can find them under themes and apps section.
Hit the thank you button if I helped you in anyway. It's free.
I know that the best ROM would be based on personal preference. What I'm looking for is the most fully functional ROM. I've been trying different ROMs but I work so much I don't have the time I used to. Any insight is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Roms
In my humble opinion, if your talking about the most features it would be the Charmaleon ROM, your able to theme quite a few things because of a tweak add-on he has in the rom. It's on the third page of ROM developement.

I'll second ViperRom or MeanROM, if you're looking at ICS ROM's. With JB ROM's the verdict is still out, but Viper's base JB ROM works pretty well, as does MeanBean (the ROM I'm currently running). Not to say these are by any means the best, just a handful of the few I've tried since coming to the EVO LTE. It's all subjective, really, since what's best for one user may not be best for another.

Cool. I think I tried it in the beginning before I started this new job. That was back over the summer though. I'm sure it's probably different. I'll add it to the to do list. Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I want to stick with a JB ROM but I travel so much with my job to places with horrible reception or Hotels with no wi-fi and then I get fc's or I start to loose certain functions and I have to go back to an older ROM. I think I'm going to designate a memory card to keep a few good ROMs on when I travel to nip it. I haven't tried Viper's base. I think that'll be my next ROM.

I'll put a third vote in for the Mean series. I've tried MIUI and CM10 recently, but I always end up coming back to the beauty of Sense. The dev on MeanRom and MeanBean is very active and has made it very simple to update to his newest version with an OTA updater.
That said, I am currently checking out the rEVOLTEd rom, with JB. I was particularly interested in how the dev used the AOSP vanilla version of Recent Apps switcher rather than the Sense version... The camcorder is not currently working, but it should be fixed in the next version. Other than that, it seems to be running very well.
Overall, there really are some great options out there for JB and ICS Roms.

I've tried revolted. Good rom but I had trouble with my GPS signal and I use navigation often for my job. I've seen Mean ROM a lot so I'm downloading Mean Bean and Vipers JB ROM. Thanks for your input.
Thanks
Just want to say thanks to everyone who gave their opinions and input in this thread. I flashed Mean Bean and loved it. Problem was I flashed it wrong. Didn't upgrade to 3.15 firmware first. In the process of trying to do that I bricked, fixed, unlocked/ unrooted, upgraded, unlocked, rooted, and finally reflashed Mean Bean. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I've been so use to dropping roms on a sd and flashing I forgot one of the most important things about XDA. READ Instructions before flashing new roms. Thanks again to everyone who commented and gave advice. You helped me find exactly what I was looking for.

You Sir are absolutely correct. My favorite so far.
I tried both meanbean and stock w/ goodies and I really like the fluidity of meanbean. However, the battery life seemed like it was better on stock w/ goodies. I also used rom cleaner w/ the no-sense option on both of the roms so i'm not sure if that contributed to better speed or battery life. I decided to stick w/ meanbean! no fc or errors for me and everythings been running great!
