I rooted my phone, and installed miui from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295089&highlight=stuck
all was fine until i tried to install the language pack for chinese:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18957548&highlight=chinese#post18957548
and i forgot to wipe Davilk Cache.
now my phone just keeps booting to the oodie miui screen, won't enter xrecovery or flash mode. how do I fix this ?
you should be able to boot into recovery from power off depending on what phone you have...or you can get to recovery from your bootloader....or you can use adb...what phone are you using because unless you find a way to get into your recovery you will stay stuck in a boot loop

I am using the xperia x10, and I don't know how to do any of the things you've reccomended, I'm still new to this.
You can always go into recovery mode by turning off your phone, taking out the battery. Then hold the back button and put in the battery, it will boot the phone in recovery mode (not xrecovery) and the green led light will come on. At the point you can flash a rom via flashtool.
- Captain Scrat
i've tried that and when i hit "flash" it "aborts" and my phone starts up to the oodie miui screen thats sort of like a loading screen since it has the loading bar i guess?
Repeat again! Should work!
would my battery need to be more than 50% to do that? i've read some places that it has to.
You have to press flash when the green led light is still on. It doesnt stay on for long tho, so do it quickly. And ya having the bat above 50% is a good idea for when the phone needs to be disconnected from computer and boot on its own.
- Captain Scrat
it starts to flash then exits flash mode and then "boots" and it aborts flash.
it happens sometimes. Try again
It finally let me flash it and it fixed! thanks guys.

My phone was running at about 60% battery last night, and working fine. It was in my pocket and it vibrated. I was unable to turn it on or reboot it, even after removing the battery. I tried using the battery from my wife's S2 but still no luck. I tried connecting the power supply but it still wouldn't boot so I left it charging overnight.
This morning it alternately flashed a fully green battery and a fully black battery. If I press and hold the power button it starts the boot process - I get past the Samsung splash screen and see the first "Resurrection Remix" splash screen, but then it reverts to displaying the green battery.
Any ideas for how I can revive the phone??

Ok We cant say its bricked!! Because its booting up but not coming to homescreen rite? Are u able to get into recovery or download mode?? If ur able o then wipe the data cache and dalvik cache, reinstall the ROM again.. If Recovery doesnt shw up.. Then Use ODIN to flash original fw!! Even if u still couldn get it.. Order a USB JIG from Ebay and try getting into DOWNLOAD MODE!! Even after this its still working means ITS BRICKED !!
Start download mode and the flash a new stock firmware . And your phone isnt bricked .!
This is why I always make a backup.
If you can get into download mode you can fix it, if you can't it's a service centre job. Pretty simple really.
Try cleaning charging port..

Uh oh...I managed to get into Recovery mode, did a factory reset and kicked off a re-install of the Resurrection Remix ROM from the external SD and it's hung at 50% (for 10 mins now) - at the "Extracting /system..." stage. I daren't interrupt it.
Any ideas???
Yes stop messing
1: If you dint have to save anything, wipe better to full wipe
Flash a stock Rom using Odin, than start again with custom roms.
OR
2: download your custom Rom again and flash, might be corrupt download.

So it's OK to interrupt this ROM flash, even though it's stuck at 50%? Should I just hold the power button or remove the battery??
pull the battery
But I say flash stock Rom first, lengthy procedure I know, but safer
OK I decided to reflash RR 2.3, which had been running fine for a couple of weeks previously. Immediately after flashing (which worked OK) the boot process wouldn't complete - it got as far as the RR splash screen then died (screen blank, and needed a long press on the power button to restart).
This happened several times. Eventually I removed and replaced the battery and it finally booted.
Does this sound like a hardware problem? I've noticed that the phone often runs quite warm, but I don't know if that's normal.
You have to flash stock rom, only way to know if there is something wrong with your phone, run it for couple days.
Now to the heat issue, it is due to
1: modem
2: kernel
3: both
Hi there, about a month ago my X10 Mini started doing weird thing. After reboot the screen is blank (black) and the notification LED is flashing red. There is no response to any keypress, nothing. The only option to turn off the phone is to disconnect the battery (under the rubber cover at the back). Then when I want to turn on the phone, again the same problem - blank screen and red notification LED. The only option to do something is to boot into recovery and flash/reflash ROM. Erasing cache/data wont help, only new ROM. And now, I reflashed the ROM, it started. I needed to reboot (inserted SIM card) and again, blank scree, red notification LED and no response.
The recovery is working fine so maybe the problem is in the kernel? Why? I was using this phone for more than a half year and without problem.
Specs: bootloader unlocked, nAa kernel, CWM recovery, ROM now GingerRobyn V04 (before MiniCM7)
//Just flashed latest nAa kernel - nothing new happened....
///There is something ****ed up in this phone. A few more times I reflashed the kernel and ROM, tryed stock ROM and kernel and its weird. When I restart the phone and do nothing - red LED. But when I restart the phone and Im constantly pushing the back key (as when I want to get into recovery) but stop pushing right when the screen lights up (only backlight), the kernel logo appears and it didnt go into recovery, but normally boots up into ROM. When I push the back button further when the screen lights up, it normally goes into recovery. And in the recovery if I go "reboot" or "turn off", when turning on the phone without pressing the back button until screen flashes up (then stop), it wont start, just red notification LED.
I wanna sell this phone so I need to fix this. Everything is working except this thing...
////Probably its not kernel or ROM based. Tryed nAa 13/14, stock and nAa JB 3 kernel - nothing changedm still b!tch!ng. Tryed stock ROM, MiniCM, GingerSony, Jelly Bean ROM - nothing changed.
Hi,
try plugging in your sdcard and then powering on you phone. Also make sure your battery has got some juice.
Good luck.

Thanks! The MicroSD actually worked. Any idea why? When booting up, kernel/recovery/ROM needs to write something in it?
This is a known kernel bug.

Thanks. I had the same problem.
Hello! My brother gave me this phone to repair it kind of. It is fully stock, and when I try to turn it on it either restarts on white screen, or restarts after when the home screen shows up. I went to rooting guides for the phone, and I only unlocked the bootloader. Problem now is that because of the restarts I can't put superuser.zip and cwm img on sdcard since I can't turn on the phone and connect with sdcard. Oh and I did factory reset twice it didn't fix it. Is there any way to fix the phone?
Well now I succeded installing new rom and recovery from SDcard because I put SDcard in another phone. Thing is even now the device turns on gets to customization screen and then it restarts and it has infinite loop. What to do?
Make sure battery is fully charged/ good
Bootloops can sometimes be fixed by flashing boot.IMG through fastboot...but I don't think that's your issue

Hello, I have an HTC Amaze for over a year now. It was working fine, I rooted it CWM 5. and I installed Android revolution custom ROM. Until 2 weeks ago my battery was giving me some trouble, so i put away the phone for a bit, I bought a new battery then I notice the phone wasn't coming on. SO i charge for an entire day it still wasn't charging. I carried it to the shop. They said, that they don't know whats wrong with the phone.
I came home and decide am going to fix it my self i tried powering it into recovery mode, hard reset. screen is still blank, at lease that is what I thought. I look closely and then i notice the phone was in recovery mode but no lights were on in the screen. So normally I thought what anyone would of thought, the bulb in the screen or some kind of wiring went bad. The i tried wiping cache davlik install new new rom. Nothing worked. and this was defficult because I had to use a flash light to see on the screen. Lastly, i just click reboot and then the phone lights up perfectly and HTC logo comes up and then it blanks off again. So can anyone help? any advise

Find the way to install adb and communicate with the phone via adb and fastboot. If you can do that, you will be able to install anything necessary to get the phone working again.
First however, remove the battery, wait a few seconds, reinsert the battery and charge the phone overnight. Next day, try and start phone usual way--see what happens.
If NOTHING happens and you get a black screen, remove battery again for a few seconds, reinsert, and this time hold the power button in for AT LEAST 20 seconds.
See if that starts the phone.
If you get absolutely nothing again, find the "Unbricking Project" thread, but if you get any kind of screen, see if you can boot to recovery and restore anything. If you get a screen but can't do any kind of restore at all, find instructions for adb and fastboot I mentioned earlier, so you can install a new recovery and flash a new rom..
I did everything you said. Except I complete forget how to flash recovery and custom rom from my pc but when I type command in fastboot "adb devices" it was successful.
However, I charge the phone and I got into the recovery mode again and the wipe everything and then click backup and recovery. I rebooted the phone and it came on as if its a brand new HTC Amaze. I had the phone working i rejoice for a bit and then I realize I forget to put in my sim card. So i turn the phone off, put in the sim card. The same problem again. No led, no light in the screen, the phone atomatically boots into recovery mood.
One more thing. when booting into recovery mode. the phone doesn't go where I see the 3 android at the bottom and you see, fastboot, reset etc. It goes straight to cwm screen.

I think that is what you should see when you boot into recovery.
Do whatever you did before to get the phone lit up again, then change the display settings to maybe 3/4 brightness for instance. Reboot the phone normal reboot and see if it comes back with light.
If it does, maybe you are fixed enough to install the sim.
Do you possibly have a nandroid backup saved somewhere, you could put it back in the phone via recovery?
The phone is lit up again like you asked me to do. It was hard to see in recovery mode. But i used a flashlight to look on the screen of the AMAZE then i flash a new custom rom. After multiple tries I got it up. SO its up and the brightness is at its highest point. But I dont believe thats the problem. I just need to figure out how the light stays off when in recovery mood but comes on when booted normally. Its as though the recovery is broken. How do I fix it? if its broken
Hi there,
I am new to android phone and I had an old Grand Quattro GT-I82552 to play with.
I followed the guide at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494471, downloaded
- ODIN v3.07
- CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5
- Stock Recovery GT-I8552
I followed the steps and flash CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5, but on next boot it won't go to CWM recovery mode (I did removed battery first). I tried many times with other CWM from different sources and now my phone won't boot, it just show up the Samsung Logo with yellow triangles, then shutdown. It doesn't look like a loop boot, as it shutdown entirely. I can't charge the phone either.
I can still go in the usb downloading mode so I flashed the stock recovery, no luck, phone still can't boot.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT: I found out that I was too careless to noticed that Volume UP is required for boot into CWM, instead as Volume DOWN. So I can boot into CWM now, however I supposed I can withhold my SuperSU install, and just boot into my stock Samsung appearance by normal shutdown and startup of my phone? I can't, everytime I tried to power on, it get's me to empty battery screen then shut off. I can't seem to charge the phone as well.
Have you tried charging the phone for a few hours while in recovery mode, and then turn the device on?

Thank you for your suggestion I will try that. Actually I tried to splice a USB wires and connect red/black to +/- contact for the battery and charge it for few hours, it doesn't seem to get hot, and certainly the phone still can't switch on with the battery.
Initially I thought maybe I messed up the firmware (really I only flash cwm) hence the phone's battery charge controller is not working that's why I tried external charging, but I am not too sure now.
My only hope is to get a way to verify I have enough battery power so I can flash the stock recovery in "downloading mode". I dare not flash recovery without full battery, though the download mode can be accessed while I plugin into PC's usb port.

Don't worry your phone will charge while in recovery around 2% in 6-7 minutes. After that you can flash stock os via Odin. Next time you try to flash recovery don't check auto reboot in Odin when flashing of tar file will complete remove battery and boot to recovery. Then flash supersu

Thanks for your advice. I took both of your advice and had my phone flashed with Stock ROM and now it returned to normal with fully charged battery sign shown. My battery appears to be fine with and fully charged, the battery current probably can't be detected with my broken phone back then.
With StockROM in and fully battery, I redo the custom flashing and I am now on custom ROM! Though have some problem with the ROM (battery report not correct, no front camera..) but I am happy now the phone is back to work now.
Thank you very much.
