SWYPE (Vibrant) MetaMorph Themes
Updated 8/19 with Sketch Pad Swype
Updated 8/20 Purpinkle Swype & Status Bar
Here are a bunch of Swype MetaMorphs I have been working on for the Vibrant. I plan on making more so keep checking in, and feel free to make suggestions!
I am by no means into any major developing or coding. I'm just into basic theming at this point. I make these because I enjoy mixing up my Vibrant and proving why Android is the best OS.
A special thanks to hoey2011 that got me started working on these by being the first I know of to create swype themes.
(Unzip & Apply) with MetaMorph. Use at your own risk! I have tested all on my Vibrant first with no problems. Reboot is not necessary.

Enjoy!
Ok here is something for the ladies. Hook your girlfriend's Vibrant up! (or maybe you like purple yourself... not that anything is wrong with that)
I Included a Status Bar Morph too on this one! (remixed clearbar posted by junkdruggler)
PurpinkleSwype.zip
Purpinklebar.zip
This is an updated Purpinkle status bar with no battery indicator. This is made for applying on top of the many new (more accurate) battery inidcators you can find on xda). So flash your new battery indicator, then morph this on top.

Would love a themed version of swype i was wondering when someone would do this

I'm pretty sure these will only work on the Vibrant because they replace files with the same names.. If any developers provide me with the necessary files pulled from various other phones/roms I can theme them out. As much as i would like to make them for other phones, I would hate to not be able to test them myself. But we shall see...

Well, my suggestion would be, instead of browsing the Vibrant forum, which contains WVGA resolution themes, etc., why not browse the G1/Magic/HVGA resolution boards? If anyone has made themes for Swype there, they will work with your version, since you have HVGA resolution as well
My old Swype thread in the G1 forum is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7725289
Check that first, then if you have questions, search for HVGA Swype metamorph. Most likely mine will come up along with some others.
Wow i really love these themes. i cant wait until i get my vibrant to use them.
I'm sorry how do I apply? I unzipped but don't know where to go from there.

put .zip in folder
open metamorph
unzip new theme
use the back arrow, find the .zip
it will extract, then press "close"
now it shows what is going to be changed, click "apply all" in the bottom right
It will take about 30 seconds
close metamorph and open swype, you new theme is awesome.

You need to be rooted. USB debugging enabled.
Themes look awesome. Having one small prob. Once I save the .zip to folder on my SD, I can open the folder in metamorph but it then says "nofiles". Does it need to be on phone mem?
I created a folder on my external sd ( sdcard/sd/morphs )
Can you change back to the original theme swype?
And my phone is moving extremely slow now.
*Edit* speed has picked up on my phone but i still would like to change back

Dont worry I put " lol " at the end of my comment because I was being sarcastic
Its not actualy an image over swype... it directly replaces the original images. Mine lags for a second or two after flashing it.. but this is just brief and not an ongoing issue...
Any chance of getting the plasticlime one in colors other than lime. Like the blue outlining the text box? Please

The files in the stock vibrant metamorph are LITERALLY pulled directly from the apk used to display them. Also, there is no such thing as "the" galaxy s rom, as there are way too many variants now to single it out like that, like we could with the G1, Hero, etc. I have a GT9000 thread in themes and apps, maybe you could look for some help there? I do not have a 9000 to test on or I would, but seeing as how much of the basic software is the same, Swype, Samsung Keyboard, Touchwiz, etc., I don't see why these morphs are not aligned properly.
Hopefully you can provide more information to help us help you

My Version of the GingerBlur framework given to us by kennethpenn with the 1% battery mod by shoux.
Battery + Charging Icons provided by _JKay_ over in the I9000 forums, and all others are courtesy of Samsung, lol.
Bios GingerBlur Boot Animation Edited by Krshaw18 is the provided bootanimation, as its the one I use.
This is only a mod to the GingerBlur framework, all I did was put all the pretty pictures in the right places... if you want to thank someone look above, donate to them.
Changes to GingerBlur framework --> Battery Icons, Signal Bars (1-4 are Silver, 5th is Green), Data Icons, and wifi signal.
*H icons are provided but 3G is the one constantly shown as thats the one I like.
Any Issues let me know, and I'll try and get to them tomorrow. However I am participating in a marathon this weekend so nothing may show til beggining next week.
THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON MY PHONE(AT&T 4.1.83) I WOULD NOT TRY THIS ON ANY OTHER VERSION. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TURNING YOUR PHONE INTO A PAPERWEIGHT.
Added the original GingerBlur for those requesting it.(Check Previews)
Added GingerBlur Ver2 = Original GingerBlur with the Battery Icons from GalaxyBlur (not tested, and no previews, but made the same way as the others)
All downloads are CWM Flashable Zips.
Download Galaxy Blur:

There's probably one available somewhere else (although my searches doesn't find anything), but can you make one with only the battery icons [for GingerBlur]? I quite like the current look but want batt. percentage. Would be greatly appreciated

Great, thanks! Will flash it later and let you know the result.
Not to sound really picky but I prefer the battery icon in the Galaxy version, but don't want the other replacement icons. Is it just a matter of unzipping the 'original' mod zip and replacing the icons within with the battery icons from the Galaxy version, then rezipping and flashing?
@others I believe GalaxyBlur is what you see in the first two images- ie data/3G/etc icons changed to the Samsung icons as well as the battery.

can i install this over GladiAtrix 3?
any battery drain after install themes?
GalaxyBlur is just the random placeholder I gave my theme due to most of the files I added being from the SGS II system dump. It'll get a more cleaver name soon.
And Yes, this will go perfectly fine over Gingerblur 3.1 and GladiAtrix 3

No problem, I already uploaded it if you hadnt already done it. And yes, its just a matter of pulling the right icons from the "drawable-hdpi" folder and placing them in your "framework-res.apk".

Thanks- that was unexpected
I guess I know what to do now if I find other icons that I like (and can stop bugging you ).
Downloading v2 right now, will update this post when complete.
EDIT: Flashed, no problem. First boot after that took some time (thought it had broken something lol) but it eventually got there.
One thing you should probably note in OP is that the animations are now changed (looks like CyanogenMod's...?). Personally I don't mind but I think some people would prefer the stock animations which are slightly less fancy.
Now if only I could get the launcher menu to fade in or pop up smoothly as opposed to having it just appear...

Like I said in my first post in this thread, there probably was already a version like the one I had in mind, but (admittedly quick) searching didn't reveal anything.
That said I prefer the iconset in the v2 version here over the one you linked. Larger numbers and a bit clearer from what I see.

No, the quick dock is not in the AOSP version
in the AOSP there is no quick dock it is pretty much stock 3.1 homescreen experience. and the battery the AOSP was pulled from DocRambone's rom so nothing really has been modded by me on it other than just making it a flashable zip. I will look into changing batt colors when I get some time
Thanks doc & boosted awesome work. Love the aosp bar.

There's an app called "Wizz Bar" in the Market that adds a minitray function somewhat similar to Touchwiz. You can configure what apps appear in the pop-up tray. It's free, btw.

OK - flashed doc's stock rooted/deodexed touchwiz rom... my initial impressions of touchwiz: not happy. However, after using it for a while now I am warming up to it...
I hate the new graphics... much prefer the darker look...
I flashed the AOSP bar and am much happier now. I didn't realize that the notification windows was changed back to AOSP as well - much better than the touchwiz menu...
It would be awesome if you could fix the battery icon (which is still the touchwiz version). It looks a bit cartoonish next to the honeycomb wifi icon. It would also be amazing if you could add in the quick bar and screenshot button. I'm not sure if this is feasible, but it would be awesome if it was...
Big thanks to you and doc!
(Off topic, but is there any way to get the stock browser and loading wheel back? The new ones are ugly)

What launcher are you using? Most allow you to replace icons with ones of your choosing, you'll just have to put them on your sdcard.
If you're wanting to theme icons at the system level, or your launcher doesn't allow you to select a custom icon, then you'll have to modify apks.

Send me the icons and I'll make a flashable .zip for you that will change them, hassle free ( plus a recovery one so you can revert them if you don't like them ).
It's 2 minutes of work

Not strictly true - although it is an app drawer replacement.
Can change icons and names with this, my favourite ever app ever of all time ever.
As I've posted before, if there's an easier way to edit icons/text and retain functionality, I have yet to find it.
Especially because I couldn't modify an apk if my life was at stake...

Any of the devs have plans to make an AOSP based ROM? I'd love to get rid of Sense.
We are sure to see AOSP eventually, but it may take a very long time to get the radio issues usually associated with porting AOSP ROMs to non-AOSP devices resolved. That is why devices like the Rezound have taken so long to see AOSP ROMs even with a fairly robust dev community. Your best bet in the short-term is through "De-Sensitized" ROMs that have the Sense framework intact but remove most of the theming to give the appearance of AOSP.

"See" and "try" are better than "no." I loved having CM9 on my original DInc. If we were to get CM9 or CM10 on the DInc 4G, I'd be beyond thrilled. I know that's quite a long way off, but a Senseless ROM will do just fine until then.

people can support whatever they want to support and theres nothing saying that getting a new phone means you drop support for others

Any of the devs have plans to make an AOSP based ROM? I'd love to get rid of Sense.

This is not true, especially with more recent versions of Sense. Sense 4.0 themes just about everything (phone & messaging apps, default browser, settings, and notification bar, to name a few), much of it far beyond the launcher.

Exactly... can't stand the white menu theme and the cartoony colored icons. I'm also looking forward to getting rid of the ever present location and WiFi notification icons in the status bar. ICS status bar and notification shade is gorgeous... Sense ruins it.

My personal preference is Sense (even when I had AOSP on my original Incredible, I searched tirelessly for themes that would make my phone look more like Sense 4), so I'd disagree with you there, but god do I agree with you on the WiFi notification and the persistent location symbol. There is almost no real estate in the notification bar for actual notifications; the whole thing is taken up by completely unnecessary indicators.
I also find the Sense app drawer really frustrating--there is just way too much going on. I keep the Sense launcher because I like the clock, but I'd love to see a custom ROM remove the unnecessary sidebars in the app drawer and make it look more like Nova.

you can remove the bottom tabs in the app drawer (app drawer > menu > edit tabs) and if you remove vzw, favs, and downloads it wil remove all bottom tabs

...Omg, thank you. It's really embarrassing that I never thought of that. haha
EDIT: Did it and now it looks so much better. Any chance we could see a vertical app drawer built into the Sense launcher? Not sure how possible that is.

The original sense 4 port for the sensation had a mod where it opened the AOSP app drawer because the sense one was messed up. So it is possible.
