Found out a way to enable chat apps on cm7. Normally wen u install any chat apps on CyanogenMod lik Im+ or trillian etc... it flashes error message. Here's a trick to use it witout any error.
Install ur chat app(im+, trillian etc...) on any custom rom on which dis app works. Log in and use it.
Backup d app using titanium backup.
Install CyanogenMod Rom.
Open titanium backup.
Click on d app-> click restore-> press app+data. Done. Nw u can chat wit ur peeps without any error.

Bit of a nuisance solution if you already have the rom installed.

Thats wat i did. Im on grif's cyanogenmod & KPH. I made a nandroid backup. Flashed firstua rom, installed 3rd party apps, backed up those apps with titanium backup. Then made a nandroid backup of the rom & den restored cm7 again. So now i hv 2 backups(cm7 & firstua). So nw whenever i want to loggin to 3rd party app, i restore d firstua backup, install d app, loggin & backup d app in TB. Den restore cm7 & restore d app from TB. Its so simple. U dont hv to format anything.

I would suggest FIRSTUA rom but it no longer receives updates and the thread is pretty much dead now,I heard coderom is good.
But for some guys, they say that the FirstUarom is the best bciz it has performance boost and all the other things.
The final choice is yours though.

Don't just say 'thanks',press the thanks button,if I helped you..
if you want performance boost only then you can also give this combination try...
stock + cf-root + ext4 fs + remove bloats you don't need
ext4 boosts performance drastically ...

short answer, no.
long answer, yes, by compiling your own kernel and enabling init.d support.
