Galaxy S2 vs. Sensation - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Hi, just planning to upgrade from my Atrix.
Which one would you suggest?

Galaxy S 2 all the way!

Haha I think pretty much everyone on this forum is going to say the galaxy s

Just wondering why you would even look at a Sensation unless you are on TMobile and if you are... why are you here?

I had an atrix before switching to the galaxy s ii and you will not regret it in any way. The galaxy s ii is better in pretty much every way. I wouldn't trade this phone for anything else that is available right now.

You come into a Galaxy S II forum and expect us to give you a non-biased answer... or even tell you to get the other phone? HAHAHA
tl;dr GET THE GALAXY S II

I think I'm unbiased. I've told a person to get the Skyrocket for what they wanted. That said, go with the GSII.

Samsung infuse 4g? a poor man's galaxy s II?

Is it true this is the at &t carrier branded version of the galaxy s 2? it has the same specs as the galaxy s II except for a bigger screen ( 4.5") and it lacks a a dualcore processor, does this mean the galaxy s II will not be released for at & T ?
I think the Infuse will come out at the end of this month or early next month, but the sgs 2 won't come to US carriers until end of this year.

the end of the year? the samsung captivate (also on at & t) was released just one month after the international galaxy s
Personally I'd rather have the larger screen (for video playback) than dual core.
there's a May date floating around for SG2
May?!?!?! I really wanted April. =\
Yea a lot of people are forgetting about the Infuse. I likes the idea and design but Im definitely going to be getting the Galaxy S 2

Should i upgrade to sgs2

Ok so i have had my galaxy s captivate for 1.5 years and love it. ATT now has a sale until March 28th to get the sgs2 for 9.99 as my upgrade. My question is should i grab this great deal or wait on the sgs3 which is going to be expensive as hell.

You should definitely get it!
Development has skyrocketed for the Galaxy S II and there's dozens of ROMs available, but the Galaxy S III seems ok but if you're impatient for ROMs 'n' stuff you're better with the Galaxy S II.
better wait for sgs3 and see what it offers and its price and sgs2 price will drop after sgs3
If price is a factor go for it. The S2 is a massive upgrade from the S1.

if you can wait and afford it, then theres no question. the s3. no amount of roms can make 8 mp 12, dual core into 4 and so on. youll be competing with the best of the high end the likes of the s2 and the 4s.
unless the s3 turns out to be a pile of snot upon release ofcourse.
as an s2 owner since last may, i can say that i picked a gnexus on upgrade but found that the s2 was on a par or better in some respects. the s3, if it bests the s2, is a no brainer.
If that 9.99 is a one off payment its a bet to nothing .

These two will not mean much to the OP, given he said:

This means he is an AT&T user in the USA, and is talking about an upgrade to the Galaxy SII for AT&T, or the Skyrocket. No chance he'll be able to upgrade to the GT-I9100. AT&T doesn't offer the I9100 at all.
OP, ATT has their own model of Galaxy SII, which is the SGH-I777, and another variant for LTE called the Skyrocket, which is the SGH-I727.
You are currently in the forum for the GT-I9100, which is the international model of the Galaxy SII. There are similarities between the SGH-I777 and the GT-I9100, but there are differences as well. Firmwares are not totally compatible between the two. If you flash an I777 firmware to an I9100, or vice versa, it won't TOTALLY break your phone, but things won't work right.
The I727 (Skyrocket) has completely a different SoC/chipset, so firmwares are COMPLETELY not compatible with either the I777 OR the I9100.
The SGH-I777 and SGH-I727 both have their own forums.

No worries; I just want you to be fully informed. It would suck for you to have gotten one of the phones, and try to flash a ROM from THIS forum. If you had gotten the regular Galaxy SII, it would have just acted weird. If you had gotten the Skyrocket, you probably would have completely bricked the phone.

Doubt about new phone

Greetings! First of all sorry for my bad english.
I'm watching this forums for some time but I finally made an account because I need some advice.
I have Galaxy Ace at the moment and I'm in a search for a new android one.
So i got stuck on Xperia S, Galaxy S2 or something 3rd
And I'm not sure if galaxy S2 is still worth buying? Is there any better dual core andorid?
Quad core is just to much at the moment for me and I don't see any reason to get one.
I found HTC one S is a great phone but it's to costly for me and I really don't like HTC phones.
Anybody?
Best dual core android at the moment? Or at least best for its value
The galaxy S II is still a great phone. Depending who your service provider is you could maybe even get some other phones, but the s2 is amazing. It is one of the most durable phones, even though it does feel cheap. It will come with touchwiz so I suggest you put a custom rom on it. The battery life is pretty nice on it. The screen is nice, large and bright. The phone is very nice, with its biggest downfall being it feels rather cheap, but still a trustworthy phone.

It's a good phone, especially considering how the newer phones have terrible giant screens.

Exhibit A.
buy SGS2 i think is the best 2-core mobile on market

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze...Similar to a GS2?

I've heard that the Galaxy S Blaze is technically in the original Galaxy S family however specswise it is more similar to a GS2?
is this true?
I was wondering was this a good device to get? I could get a Gs2 of course but I don't care necessarily about how big the screen is but more so if this is a good phone?
If you want to experiment and mess with your phone, take GS2. It has a lot of support and problems are more easily solveable because of its popularity.

My advice: do a Google search about the blaze and s2. And I would definitely recommend the s2

Swap SGS2 for Galaxy Nexus?

So I've been thinking of getting a GNex and selling my S2 for it.
Do you think the GN is worth it? Is it better than the S2?
The advantages are that it will almost definitely get KLP officially whereas we won't, and CM might discontinue ROM development...
Any thoughts please?

Weren't you supossed to get your dad's S3 when he goes for the S4??
Anyways, keep your S2. Keep in mind that it's a legendary device.

Hey, thanks for the reply!
Yes potentially, if he decides to upgrade! He was quite keen he was going to buy the S4 last weekend, but he went to the stores to have a play with it, but doesn't seem that impressed as it doesn't differ much from what his S3 can't do, so he is unsure at the moment.
(However this was a similar case last year when he has the S2 - which is mine now, and he was deciding whether it was worth going for the S3. He did eventually do it however, so he might do it again with the S4)
If this is not the case do you think it will be worth trading for a GN?
Cheers!

I actually said no, you shouldn't. Keep it.
Besides, how much could a galaxy nexus cost? 200 bucks brand new? I'm sure you can save that in a month or 2.
