Title says it all
we have a armv6 chip but MIUi uses armv7 libs so we cant have MIUI.
ok... now i get it..
thanks
There was a vote to have support, but we paled in comparison to other devices like GSII. Also they would need to resize to MDPI from HDPI and other things.

I heard Fl.ash is trying to port the HTC interface to ace. I thought the Sense UI can be enjoyed to the full extent with the whole package being ported to Ace. I heard that wildfire also has the same resolution as ace, so no need to port the graphics.
Any reply, positive or negative from the dev., I shall respect.
Thanks!

first of all, wildfire doesnt have same resolution as ace. its ldpi (240 x 320) while ace is mdpi (320 x 480). u shouldnt always believe what u "heard".
I guess he was talking about the Wildfire S, which has pretty much the same specs as the Ace and a mdpi screen.

I am extemly sorry sir, I forgot to write HTC wilfire S, in fact I downloaded their official rom to see if can do something, but I don't know anything about porting. I read somewhere that I had to replace a few lib files and it will be done. please help.
Yes the newer Wildfire S has hvga(320x480) resolution...but the sense UI is closed source and copyrighted with closed source framework heavily integrated into stock HTC . Because of this non of the attempts to port the sense UI or the system over the xda and underground have been fully successfull(not fully working) .
And the official ROM you have downloaded should occupy some system space like 250 MB while our total system space is 214 MB.

Yes sir, I know. I also know that it has been ported to many non-HTC devices like galaxy S (our distant cousin ) and HTC hasn't bothered to file a patent infringement case. Surely not all companies are as dumb-headed like Apple.

Thank you for being supportive and yes Sense has been ported to galaxy S : http://www.androidtotal.com/htc-sen...xy-s-i9000-running-android-2.3.3-gingerbread/ , but with some limitations. (Just like our CM ).
yup many non htc device got sense so why not ace if possible
and here devs not sell rom it is unofficiall port so htc not claim void of copy right as my point of view
I know this is a noob question, but does anyone know how to extract files from a .img in the stock rom file on windows 7?
I would love to know if someone is going to do this. I wasn't aware fla.sh was attempting to port it though...
fla.sh isn't porting Sense to Ace. Only framework theme

Is there a touchwiz 4.0 for galaxy 3
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
TouchWiz 4.0 requires ARM v7 and didn't work on our device (I'm not sure, but if it works on it, probably will be on our G3 forum).
Somewhere on xda, there are TW4 for all devices, and you can check.

Would it be possible to make it work on Gingerbread also. I imagine there are very few ARMv6 devices running ICS, most devices with enough hardware to run ICS have a ARMv7 processor.

Nope most armv6 devices tun ics very good, it is not about the cpu... it also not about the ram because ics has better memory management, but the problem is the gpu hw acceleration, which has been mamaged on the Optimus One, and the camera...

What makes a ROM or Device it's CPU?
Whether it's Armv7 or Armv6 or something else.
Is it the libs or the apps?
(This is something I'm wondering, in order to port Armv7 Roms to Armv6)
Can be both...
Some games for example are Armv7 only, and opera (I thought) was recently ported to ARNv6
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Lol So it's both?
Hmmm If I can just port the Armv7 apps to Armv6 I'll be able to run Armv7 on Armv6
Another question:
Do I brick my phone if I changed (in the build.prop):
Code:
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v6l
to
Code:
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7l

ARM is a CPU architecture. ARMv5, ARMv6, ARMv7 and now ARMv8 is supported on Linux, which is the base of android. So basically everything native to Linux is architecture dependent (binaries, libs, kernel). Everything Java isn't (apps). However there are apps (browsers, games etc) that load Linux libs from Java code. Such apps also need to be ported.

After like, 5+ Months, I've figured it out.
It is the libs and frameworks that makes a ROM it's CPU.
And the apps depend on the framework, so if the framework is whatever, then the app is the same type.
Thanks to my friend dhk.- for shedding some light on me on how to port a Armv7 Rom to Armv6 shown HERE in his MIUI Port
You need to replace smalis in framework.jar
Can anyone give a QVGA version of this? Its free in google play. It show incompatible with SGY but it runs pretty smooth as far as I can tell, only problem is the resolution is WAYYYYY too big for our phone. If there isnt any QVGA version of this, can anyone port it?
(A lot of people have been porting Armv7 to Armv6. I dont know, but I think changing the resolution would be easier?
Talk to manoj buddy
