i am using samsung galaxy ace with a custom rom. i want to have some of the stock apps mainly stock camera, stock task manager, and stock messages. is there a way i can get it and put it in my custom rom ???
my method-
i am not sure whether this will work or not but i think that if i get the apk file then i can put it in root/system/apps and set permissions to rw-r-r. this should work according to me.
but how do i get the apk file?
for that also i think i could extract it from the installation files for stock rom...
but the installations i have come across are either .md5 or .tar files for stock rom. hence i am unable to help to extract it and get the apk file. also i am unable to find a direct zip installation setup via cwm for stock rom. if i get that then its easy to extract the apks.
please help. i am not sure if my method is right. if it is then help me with it, if not then please tell me the other method

You will need to use modded apps and you will need modded twframeworkres.apk to use any touchwizz stuff

Finally - first post after just reading the forum, and for good start it's kind of how to questions.
So, as mentioned in the topic I need to restore standard TW Launcher on my device, at the moment it is broken thanks to my noobish operations. I tried to replace TW with the modded TW4.5.
TW4.5 doesn't work on my gs2 and to install it I just deleted the stock one. I made a copy of standard apk, but nothing happend when I copy it back into system/app directory. It also won't to be installed.
Now I use GO Launcher and I'm happy with it but the thought that standard one doesn't work make feel strange.
Please help
I had the same issue last night but got TW4.5 working fine in the end. However i did end up going back to the original anyway (some widget bugs that i probably could have sorted but couldnt be bothered -.-').
The way i got my original TW back was as follows:
1) Put the original touchwiz30.apk file and the .odex file back into /system/app.
2) Delete the Touchwiz4.apk
3) Try install the old launcher only to be told "Application not installed".
4) Reboot the phone and it should let you use the normal launcher again, use Home Switcher if youve set the other as default.

Problem's solved, I made silly mistake - I didn't recognize that the root uninstaller app did add the '2.3.3' phrase between file name and file extension.
U helped a lot by posting the correct file name.

Srry for lag, havent seen it. I'll upload it tommorow from work or if u need it earlier I suggest to download a rom based on stock one and you will find it (there's stock tw in villain rom for sure).

but i have a little problem,this rom has not any file manager or my files,and i don't have any internet connection on my phone right now to download it from the market
is there any flashable my files or file manager that i can use?

i unzipped and i put the apk there.i zipped it again and when i tried to flash it it says:instalation aborted.
Open the archive and drag the apk in. No need to unzip.
Anyway I wonder how you posted this if you don't have a connection.

Any help would be a appreciated.
I entend to start using the apks I extract from diff roms to help peace together my first rom.

If it is the original ROM, I am almost sure it will never work.
That is because the APK needs stuff from the samsug framework, wich you probably haven't.
You can extract an independent APK (in terms of it doesn't need the framwork) from your selected ROM with any filemanager.

since the themer has not allowed anyone to port it,
here is what u can do
download any isc/jb themed custom rom from developers (5830i) section...
download that theme that u mentioned and extract it (theme)..
since most of them are apps, u can use in our phone...
copy those themed apps in your phone (system/app)..
most of them should work
i am sure that systemui.apk and framework-res.apk (framework.jar too, if present and all framework folder apps) will not work and dialer tab activity and contacts apps will not work too (but i am not sure)..
other apps like file manager, music, calender should work..
copy them, place them in system/app set permission and u r done :thumbup:
u can use them in your phone, but cannot post it anywhere..

I didn't mean that... I mean i've deleted file "Musicplayer.odex" from my rooted SGS2 directory system/app, and now I can't see music apk in my programs, so what I want to someone who has stock rooted JB ROM that can upload this file, which I have removed from my device
Use tha program from above link it will create the odex .... most people with odexed roms anre not rooted
And if you dont understand why to create yourself odex its cuz you didnt offer informations about your rom
